    really appreciated the sweet act of rewarding the man who recommended with one of those.

    Try eating the pineapple bun with butter immediately with the butter still cold and the bun hot. That's the whole point of pineapple bun with butter - crispy and hot on the outside and cold on the inside. it's the contrast of texture and temperature that makes it special. don't let the butter melt. that's how it's eaten in Hong Kong (used to have it a lot but I got too chubby I have to lose the butter 😅) A lot of snacks are great in the night market. taiwanese pork sausages, sweet potato balls, sweet desert soup with taro balls and grass jelly, stinky tofu...

    When you started your morning off with a good cong you bing breakfast - thats how I knew your day was going to be awesome from then forward. ❤🇹🇼 Every time I am in Taiwan it is tradition to hit up as many small coffee shops as I can and load up on the individual pour-over coffee packets especially if they package their own brand/roasts. Nice latte art as well.... done and done! The best part about the pineapple buns is when the butter is still a bit soft and not completely melted - like the bun and a big 'ol pat of butter in one bite is heaven.

    Josie, 😄haven't you noticed that the characters and languages in Taiwan, as well as the signs, advertising texts, and writing fonts on the streets, are all in Chinese, just like the ones you've been to Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Macau. Do you feel curious? The reason is that the residents of Taiwan and China are both Chinese, and their ethnic origins are the same. Taiwan is a state(area) of China, but it is managed by different parties. China is managed by the CPC, and Taiwan is managed by the Kuomintang and the Democratic Progressive Party, so there are political and military differences. But the undeniable fact is that Taiwan has not yet fully belonged to China.
    The full name of Taiwan is the Republic of China(Chinese pronunciation:zhong hua min guo), and the full name of China is the People's Republic of China(Chinese pronunciation:zhong hua ren min gong he guo), both of which are abbreviated as China(Chinese pronunciation:zhong guo).

    CKS was not the father of democracy. Lee was.
    CKS did not implement democracy in Taiwan before he died. Taiwan was under CKS’s dictatorship. CKS passed his thrown to his son CCK. CCK suddenly died in 1980s, so Taiwanese born and Japanese and USA educated Lee suddenly became the president of Taiwan and started Taiwan’s democracy. Lee was elected by Taiwanese vote by vote for the first time in 1996 and stepped down in 2000 for one term only.
    CKS Memorial Hall was built in 1980 when Taiwan was still under KMT’s dictatorship. After Taiwan turned democracy, there have been discussions of turning the memorial hall into democracy museum and removing CKS’s statue.
    Taiwan is like a lot of East European counties. They turned democracy without revolution, so a lot of Soviet era statues and monuments still exist. While most people and especially younger generations don’t have any feeling towards them.

      Lee was appointed to be the president by CKS’s son, so he had served as the president before the president election. Actually, there had been elections except the position of the president long before Lee. He only add this election, so he can serve more terms. Otherwise, he had to step down from the position of the president of ROC.

      Thank you for the addition context. I was about to explain a little bit and saw your msg. Which save me lots of time. 😂 In my opinion CKS is basically a dictator, he was no different from Mao, the CKS memorial hall is a solid evidence that the whole country needed to use all the resources to build that place just to memorize him. In 80’s Taiwan was just starting to get rich, lots of people didn’t have decent life yet, but they chose to build the memorial hall first.

    • @Dhsu4321
      @Dhsu4321 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@angelhuang4126 In that case, how is Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hall? Does that make him a Dictator? There was a delegator voting system for the president during CKS governing period, and there were also voting systems to elect the civil service representatives and officials.
