Love this format idea. In many ways a less romanticized assessment of a game since you're recording this right after a long slog, with all the bits and bobs splayed out like that. Really shows the consumer this isn't an experience for the faint of heart.
Love this format, and as a newcomer to BCS (Brazen Chariots) I love the discussion too. Try the optional orders rule, it's so simple but takes the game to an even higher level.
BCS is the best. 🙂. Glad you guys like it Also i like the new discussion format but a cut away to the board at some point would have helped. Keep up the good work regardless. G
Anyone just dropping by for the first time might think this was edited for content--it's that interesting and polished in its own right. Especially enjoy the kindness of the observations about this game (and 'Gallipoli') and the design--a hallmark of this channel. Would it work to have some commentary as introduction to the video, perhaps "here's our reaction to a game by MMP in the BCS series that depicts the battle of Arracourt, a key encounter between American and German forces as the Allies accelerated their breakout..." or some such?
Maybe, but I might make that in post to keep the post-game-discussion as candid as possible. My goal with these is to capture the kind of break down discussions that we have where we're trying to reason out certain design choices and discuss if we like them or not etc. I would hope that if you watched this, and then the full review you might see the stepping stones to where our conclusions ended up, if that makes sense.
Hi guys, good video idea! Enjoyed the format & seeing a bit more of your gaming environment. As an apt dweller, it would be nice to have a dedicated gaming room as opposed to the dinning room table, at least that's what my wife says😀
Thank you both for the review/analysis. I have this game (because of the subject) and would like to play it at some point. This was very helpful discussion of the rules. Nick Stasnopolis
BCS - I like a lot of what they’re trying to do with the system. I sold all I have because I couldn’t quite get some of the concepts. I probably just need to play a long campaign for it all to sink in. I struggled with understanding the different AV concepts, also the different ZOCs confused me. I couldn’t relate them to real life. The blob and snafu was cool. When they do market garden and early war France, I may give it another go.
Love BCS--it's the best! But it takes some doing to read, play, read some more to grok it. But effort is well worth it. This is one of those rule sets that isn't that big, but because it's so different from what many of us are used to, seems difficult, but in actual play, isn't that bad.
Yes well worth setting it up to play and learn together. Trying to learn it intellectually from the rules was tough because it breaks the norms so much.

Really enjoy this change of venue from the regular "box openings". Even if it's and uncut stream - nice change of scenery! Thanks.

Yep, this is easily the best of your formats. More please. Andrew
I like the format. The audio seemed good to me.
Very interesting indeed...
Drinks on the table are causing me anxiety :)
Agree with an earlier comment. I really enjoy and appreciate all your thoughts, reviews, recommendations.
SNAFU roll? Sounds intriguing! I may be doing that when I wake up every morning!
Appreciate all the content you two do!

These are fine; especially if it saves you a lot of time editing. I do like getting to the point.
Much more valuable than an "unboxing".
Love this format

Sounds exactly like my after action conversations with my friends.

Sweet , moar of this 100%
Excellent format....Grant....what happened to the light in your tweezers?
We remove those because they get in the way.
My reaction when I heard “we have never played BCS”.
WHAT!!! 😳Where is Ardwulf?
I like the setup but you need better audio that’s all. Please keep using this big capture view it’s great but improve audio if you can. Thanx from Aus
We have great clipon mics, I am not sure why we didn't put them on.
I thought it was pretty clear without them. With them on, it will be amazing.
I really need to get a clip on mic.
