I'm always surprised that there aren't more Harai Goshi compilation videos. Uchi Mata, Seoi Nage plenty, but never Harai. To my mind, there isn't a more aesthetically pleasing throw...
@@AusarisTV Agreed. I personally find standing Seoi and Harai to be my two favourites to see, but I think that's more down to personal taste than anything.
@@NickKano11 yeah Judo as a whole is beautiful but we all have our go to moves lol I train both Judo and Jiu Jitsu but I also wrestled in high school. I find the BJJ stance to be easily susceptible to Ashi Waza and Sutemi Waza. I think that’s because they are usually anticipating a guard pull but the whole bending over and straightening your arms out is just bad balance because you can easily be snapped down or hit with a blast double. I digress though, I love Judo.
Beautiful throw. It seems like the competition variations are quite different to the basic version, it's taught almost like a hip throw, but in this video a lot of them are like an osoto gari done in the opposite direction.

Does De Ashi Barai count? It is also a aesthetically good sweep
Hiza Guruma and Ashi Guruma are criminally underrated throws too IMO and very beautiful to look at

Harai goshi is actually harder to use successfully in international competition. compared to other techniques
The most beautiful throw

So basically a heavyweight move
I counted only one Harai Goshi and that was in the second clip.
Sankakujime?
huh? what about it?
That is not haraigoshi
It is ashi guruma
Harai means to sweep
No sweeping there
I agree. I think have Very Power on the leg. Harai goshi the main Lever is the hip, the leg is only for sweep
Those look more like ashi guruma to me
Barely harai goshi hella Ashi Guruma though
Not harai goshi
I see only o-guruma and ashi-guruma
Kk
