Alex Conti is for sure one of the best guitarrist in germany and in the world.! he have huge talent very bad that they have not many million views like they deserve !! for me this is real music this is real talent this is something you have to train for many many many hours a day and in your life. its like a boxing champion. you have to train and to train and Lake is a Championsleague Band with the Champion ALEX CONTI!
Thanks to my oldest brother who has bought the ticket for me. My first concert in Germany Hofheim Taunus . James Hopkins Harrison. I will never forget xou. and your absolutely unique voice. I still have goosebumbs while listening to this music.
What you have to understand that at this time in music history this music fit in perfectly. All the songs had great melodies. Fun stuff that combines all the elements of songs written those days. Lake did a great job figuring out what people liked to listen to.
I remember hearing this song when I was stationed in Heidelberg about 35 years ago.....I knew Lake did this song, but I didn't know the title of it...until now! Over 10 minutes of musical ecstasy that I had not heard since my time in Germany - beyond awesome! Thanks so much for posting this!
One of the most underrated bands of the 70’s! They were vastly overshadowed by that great German band,The 🦂 Scorpions! I think these Germans were as good as those Germans!Plus, they had 🎹 keyboards!
I still have no clue why this talented group wasn't bigger in the States. Their songs are in English and they snuzzle in with other huge mutli member harmony rock groups of the 70's like Doobies, Chicago and other soul based groups of the era.
@@chrissweisberger7509 You must have had cool parents! Do you recall where you sat? I was with my friend up on the 2nd level smack in the center! Keep rocking my friend!

I went downstairs during intermission to buy candy and when he saw me loading up, he said "You8 must have some crazy case of munchies". I told him I do not do drugs! I wonder if that was him! Excellent musicians, James vocals pristine, Detlef Petersen's production work is superb, the mixing is spot on.... I wore out my first copy of this album. I'm glad I have this to play occasionally.
LAKE...helped me along on my Spiritual Journey through lyrics that cut deep into my very Soul and helped me to see the true Light in this far out existence called " Life "
this Band with Alex Conti is real Gold. I wish they would make new music... this is pure talent, emotions and everything that is good. A Band that the World needs.
I remember this playing in my 8-track! Had to wedge a folded up matchbook in the deck to get it to play right. Lotsa girls, lotsa joints, 70 cent gas. Nice.
I saw these guys in St. Louis in 77' as a warm-up act. I had never heard of them. They were really, really good. I went out and bought their 1st Album the next day. Very under-rated group. Great Post!!

A friend of mine gave me this in 1978 on our way to waterpolo practice. Still listen to it today in 2020. It seems like 3 days ago he handed this to me...time is flying by.... super underrated band....
Heard this on the pirate radio way back in 76. Was the first album purchase I made! Its my opinion that the guitar solo is one the best - ever!... One of my most favorite songs.... (nice video too😊 )..
Damn! I'm a product of the "70"s and played (still do) in bands to this day . I mention the band Lake and I get the deer looking at car lights! Thanks . Made my day...
This is available on CD. I got a copy of Lake/Paridise Island (2 LP's on 1 CD) at CD Reunion in St. Louis, MO. My wife never heard this band before and loves them now. I always thought they should have made it bigger than they did. What a great sound they had! Man, it brings back the memories for sure! Thanks for posting.
Every time I play their music, I'm immediately rushed back to my days stationed at Rammstein. Such an overflow of emotions. I would give anything to reunite with the group of friends from that time.
Thanks for posting this tune. I too have the original vinyl in my collection which is mostly from the late 60's/mid 70's. I don't think that era will ever be duplicated. This is by far my favorite Lake cut.
I don't remember these guys either. I love this tune. It reminds me of, not in style by any stretch, the long beautiful jams that Pablo Cruise did. Stylistically the 2 bands are pretty far apart, but as far as uplifting and just all out cool jams this rates right up there.
The 8 track, LP & CD are in my collection. This song will forever live ... if nowhere else, in my heart. As Sab-Designs states, very progressive, and tasty. This, and "Jesus Came Down "
Saw LAKE at Open Air Festival 1977 in Offenbach (Germany). It was an very great and amazing Opening. Complete Setlist: 1. Lake 2. John Miles Band 3. Manfred Mann's Earthband 4. Genesis

So genial!!
I had a time machine ...

You mean James hopkins Harrison?
He died in 1990 of a heroin overdose he was great asset to the group lake
Yes. I have seen him on my first concert in Germany. I will never forget these concert.

They were a bit too progressive for the market, which was moving away from that sound. The bands you mentioned weren't.
Saw the guys as an opening act for Nektar in 1977 at the Palladium in NYC. They closed with this number! They blew the roof off with this tune!

Knowing they could write good music They had some real decent lyrics respect full of mystical Magical Mental state of that we could all relate
