Like Pat Metheny said "We all suck compared to Bach". Xuefei Yang brings out the beauty of this piece as only she can do. It is very emotional to hear such beauty in a currently ugly World.
In 1974 Laurindo Almeida recorded the Air inside his LP "Bach is beautiful", that I bought by chance. I fell in love with Bach and that Air was among my preferred pieces. Since then I listened to many, many versions of it, but no one was even close to him. Until now. Impressive. Bach is easy and is not easy to play: you need rigour and passion at the same time. Yang plays it perfectly, but maybe the word 'perfect' is even demeaning her performance. Technically gorgeous but also full of feelings, almost touching the heavens. Mystical. Usually this kind of interpretation happens when an artist is more mature, much further in the years; amazing that Yang can play like this at her young age. And she looks even very brilliant in mind and attractive in her body!
I've played classical (and other styles of) guitar for 40 years, this is the best version of this piece I've ever heard. Mastery of the instrument, she is wonderful.
3 months do not listen to anything else but this piece . Regret that I can not listen to the live ... In this piece feel that she puts into it all his heart .. I love it
Simply the best 4-odd minutes of guitar playing I have ever had the privilege of hearing. Wow! Every time I need motivation to practice, all I need do is let Yang carry me away to a land of dreams.
Because I play this myself on guitar I have heard many different ways musicians play it...but this transcription is unique and beautiful. Wish I could get the score somewhere..

Well done! I love your transcription and execution. I’ve been pondering what is the difference between and female classical guitarist and a male classical guitarist. I don’t have a good answer yet but I’m leaning toward female guitarist for a richer and purer sound. To my ear there’s a difference. Now is it factually correct? I don’t know.
