    Man, this is the type of woman young girls should look up to nowadays. Not celebrities like the Kim K.

    • @MetrOali113
      @MetrOali113 9 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Right. We, as Alissa's fans, should come up with strategies to share her with the girls of this country who haven't heard of her because she is in the metal scene.
      Her message is more important than her image, and just because she is in metal shouldn't make her less approachable as a role model.
      Everyone of us can appreciate someone like her, differences be damned. She is not a hypocrite or a sex addict. She's a model woman.

      Vanessa Landazabal Kim K. and all the Kardashians and other useless, furhag celebrities really piss me off because there is NOTHING of use to see or hear from any of them. What have they EVER done for the world ??
      Just think of what the money they spend on jewellery, furs, shoes, plastic surgery etc. could do for homeless and needy animals and people .... of course they couldn't care less, as long as they keep their botoxed, siliconed and spray-tanned faces on the covers of magazines and on "entertainment news" and "reality" shows !!!!

    Saw her live, opening for Nightwish. Was awesome. Growls like a beast, speaks perfect English, even speaks perfect French. And now, hearing she's vegan, I can only want to give that lady the biggest hug ever. She's not judging anyone, she's just sharing her way of life, her ethics, as she puts it perfectly. She's very pretty, very talented and very aware. You gotta love that lady!!!

    • @Diegocrue
      @Diegocrue 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I admire her musical talent, but how is an achievement speaking perfect English and French given that's she's canadian? Don't worship people, it's not healthy.

    • @Sylwish
      @Sylwish 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I know lots of Canadians who don't speak English as good as they speak French or French as they speak English. She speaks both languages perfectly, it's a pleasure to listen to her speak English and French. That's all I'm saying. And I worship her, I do! I'd rather be sick and remain a true worshipper. The lady rocks!

      I have never been able to understand atheists,I had this beautiful black princess I was 28 and she was 18,we got involved with each other she went an all white school but maybe her parents didn't go to church which I assumed I'm right but then before she told me she didn't believe in God,I started noticing she was very angry at times even horrid and vindictive,sometimes we had to pull off the road when she drove,she would be so angry and mad about work and when I brought up the issue about her believing and trusting in God and how she should reading the bible,cause she didn't have no peace in her life,I couldn't be there because I never spoke against God or even had a disbelief in God,from there on out our relationship became volatile,Sometimes I wouldn't even call her,or I would just work overtime on my job,trying to figure out how to get her out my life,I prayed to God everyday,She came over told me off,I listened and was praying at same time..please leave me..I'm begging you..please..she had her say..she turned walked to her car got in and I watched her drive off..Mann.I celebrated..And bought me another guitar..Mann finished my studio,never saw her again,Thats somebody else's problem now,Mann..she may have been the most beautifulest woman I ever been with,but no love is worth betraying God for,No one is worth that..If only Adam had made the right choice...

    I was listening to this woman speak about being a vegan like it was the new religion and she had the nerve to call herself a dumb white girl in one of her interviews,,wisdom is a keep that's found the lovers of purity and when I heard this interview I was just down right impressed..she not only has the talent and brains but also courage and bravery to investigate and discern what's right what's wrong what's good and what's bad..she's got it..she's the kind of woman I could sit and just listen to talk,I wouldn't even feel sexually attracted to her,even if we spoke privately or hung out together,that's a true friend right there,they couldn't have picked a better person to front their band,she's Kool, I wish I knew her personally,I should have kept going..maybe we could have crossed paths,of course my music would have had to be just a tad heavier to be on that tour,She's an Awesome...person and I'm sure the man that's with her is very loving and respectful of her..Take Care of yourself Alissa your doing a good job..Stay True to yourself..

      Except veganism is a positive message to spread, whereas religion is not. If more people stop consuming animal products, there would be less pollution, people would be healthier, and animals wouldn't have to suffer and die to serve a momentary purpose as dinner on your plate.

    Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy's singer) speaks very eloquently about
    what it means to her to be vegan and how in everything she does, she
    attempts to have the least negative impact on the planet. As she
    declares "Almost everything has some cruelty to it" .... and
    unfortunately she's right !!

    I am vegetarian right now but I am slowly and slowly growing into vegan stuff - I'm now only drinking coffee with soy milk and my dinner is more vegan nowadays than before. It's a bit on the road and of my goal is too as little as possible live on other's suffering - hard goal but that's no reason to not have it.

  • @MrVeggieman11
    @MrVeggieman11 9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Alissa is even admitting in this video that most things we do have some negative impacts on the world and she is aware of that and seeks to minimise her negative impact. Being Vegan is the most profound way of doing that! Yet a lot of meat eaters still watch this and make defensive and irrational comments.
    She's not judging you or saying she's perfect and you're all terrible, just that she is aware of reality and minimising harm on others is a good thing! both for human and non human.

    • @AeonStaite
      @AeonStaite 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrVeggieman11 No it isn't. Vegan's are just as bad as meat eater, the problem is, vegans refuse to accept they are eating life. 99% of all vegans end up being hypocritical egotistical pricks.

    • @MrVeggieman11
      @MrVeggieman11 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kamir Aurelia (Formerly AeonStaite) We don't torture life and imprison life that moves around like most meat eaters do, or pay the commercial farms and slaughterhouses to. Also the plant life we consume, which meat eaters also consume and the animals they eat consume a hell of a lot of, never had a nervous system enabling it to feel pain. This is not to say that we should take plant life for no good reason but plants can also regenerate and spread their seeds. It actually benefits them to be eaten, but to the individual cow, pig or chicken there fear and terror in the slaughterhouse is no different to what somebody's pet would go through and really not much different to a humans.

    • @AeonStaite
      @AeonStaite 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrVeggieman11 Actually, its been proven plants feel pain... But this is why it is hard to argue with vegans. They tend to more often than not, refuse to listen to factual evidence to promote their own egos of being better than everyone.

    • @MrVeggieman11
      @MrVeggieman11 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kamir Aurelia (Formerly AeonStaite) It has never been proved in scientific peer reviewed studies that plants feel pain. Show me the proof then. It's also irrelevant because what you'd accuse us of doing, you do far more of. On average it takes 16 pounds of plant matter to produce 1 pound of beef. Also uses up enormous amounts of water and produces huge waste. Vegans are informed about the livestock industries and the cruelty and environmental devastation of them. To defend these industries and all the harm they cause shows that you're either terribly ignorant or you have no regard for animal welfare or the environment.It's your assumption that we think we're better. Vegans have different personalities and don't all think alike, the only thing we have in common is an awareness of animal exploitation and the many detriments of these industries. I think accusing us all of big egos is just a tactic to sidestep the real issues at hand. When livestock industries are the leading cause of animal cruelty, and the leading cause of greenhouse gas emissions as the United Nations will admit, not to mention a major contributer to world hunger, deforestation, water and air pollution, then it's quite astounding how you could accuse someone who doesn't support the horrible system you support, of having a big ego.

    Since I started listening to her music and learning who she is, I've really admired her as a human being. I don't feel like I could go vegan, and it upsets me that the only meat anyone can get a hold of these days comes from fucking factories where all sorts of fucked up shit goes on with animals.I am a lover of nature and animals, and believe it should be respected. I too get upsetted when I see animals locked up at zoos and shops, etc, and I always find myself making some remark when I go to places like this relating to my view of what is going on. The more I think of it, it makes me fucking hate being a human, for we have no choice but to put up with and go along with our race constantly desecrating this world. But people like Alissa make up the brighter side of our species. There are too many evil people around and not enough good.

    • @Hattori_Hanzō_侍
      @Hattori_Hanzō_侍 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Zlad The Impaler "We have no choice"? Man, I'm sorry but that is just a lazy excuse. I get that consuming animal products has become a beloved thing for most people, but not destroying the planet by not encouraging the deforestation of rainforests in order to have enough soil to use for crops which will be destined to animals that shouldn't exist (since we are breeding them for mass production), just so that we can have a glass of milk which is not suposed to be drunk by any creature other than a cow's baby... it's not as difficult as people might think. It's not only about caring for other sentient beings, there are also many selfish reasons to become vegan. It's just that people are unaware of how much and how quick we are detroying the planet.

  • @schweet1198
    @schweet1198 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I got into vegan (at least diet wise) a year ago, mainly for the health benefits, but it has become more of a weight on me to know the kind of ways the animals are treated in all these mass production facilities. Really sad. I still eat meats occasionally like if I'm over at someone else's house and they're cooking the meal, I'll still eat it to not make an awkward scene or anything, but I get a little grossed out at meats now. I won't buy it or prepare it myself.

    It SOUNDS noble. And the morals behind the stances represented here are laudable. But there is a critical issue that's almost entirely overlooked: to live so "responsibly" requires an obscene amount of money. If you're not middle class or better, you can't afford food and clothes which comply with this outlook.
    Organic stuff and cruelty free products are targeted towards people with serious money. They are not options for those like me who make poverty-level income. So, for me, and the other people who get entirely overlooked because of our financial non-existence (despite the fact we keep the world running with the most menial jobs), this sort of thing comes off douche-y at best...

    • @jdi6029
      @jdi6029 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Daemon Silver its really not expensive, Think about impoverished countries, they eat a lot of grains, beans, and rice. The cheapest foods you can eat.. In the U.S., ethnic grocery stores tend to have lower priced produce. You can even go the extra step and grow your own organic veggies, if it's cold where you live you can get a cheap plastic greenhouse.
      Most of the fancy pre-made vegan frozen foods are pricier but you don't have to buy that. Same with other luxury brand cruelty free/vegan, for example E.l.f, one of the lowest priced makeup brands is cruelty-free and mostly vegan. You can also make a lot of products at home. Bulk cocoa/shea butter from amazon = lotion. bulk liquid castile soap = shampoo, dish soap, laundry detergent, etc, etc. White vinegar=household cleaning. I am far below middle class and I can afford to eat vegan, it is all a matter of how important it is to YOU, do you want your actions to line up with your ethics/beliefs?

    • @daemonsilver3304
      @daemonsilver3304 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +motherofkittens Yeah, perhaps. But again, we fixate on the mice and overlook elephants. Your suggestions are not impractical, but cost no less. Please recall time = money. I am a fulltime student, work on the side, have a son in play there somewhere a couple days a week (there's a whole thing 'twixt his mother and I), chickens to spoil, guitar to pursue and enjoy, friends to unwind with, etc.
      I bring this information to bear in hopes of more clearly framing my assertion, not as excuses. If they are perceived as such regardless, I'll chalk it up to humanity. *sardonic smile* Life is a vast, fickle thing. I have been victimized in numerous shades of cruelty of my life and so have no love for it. Be that as it may, suffering is integral with both growth and stagnation. So you can't use the presence of suffering and cruelty as a yardstick to measure human progress, really. Beyond it being like measuring TIME with said yardstick (no science semantics, please, I know of time/space quantum relationships), it is a facile concern.
      If all mankind were swept up by the gods and the world to heal, in the heart of its vitality, this living global organism would yet contain savagery. Carnivores are natural and required for balance. Diseases act beneficially as well. All of the slithering, grotesque and savage things our better parts loathe are as integral to goodness as goodness itself. It is the order of things. And it pleases me that White-Gluz DID say she did her BEST to reduce cruelty and her part in it WHERE POSSIBLE. That concession to reality was refreshing.
      I applaud those care about...well, anything. I just promote the shit out of true awareness. I live a life which may lead to the suffering of people and organisms. I would even if I tried not to. So I strive for balance. I kill nothing unless a rational need exists to do so. I am mindful of others where possible and strive for diplomacy. But I eat animals. Boy do I. I wear things and use things which may be made in sweatshops and the like. But if I learned of a specific instance of this, would boycott the product and sign extant petitions to stop it, though I don't research say, a pair of shoes before I buy them. I only care so much. Because cruelty is tied into living.

    I totally admire Alissa for her intellectual choices and messages in her music, but I kind of laughed when she said that zoos and Sea World were exploitative industries.
    Sure, none of them are perfect, and if you're against animals doing tricks for food, then you have a few million dog owners to pick a bone with then as well. Animal parks expose people to animals they would never have a chance to see otherwise. How many people would study to become marine biologists, veterinarians, conservationists, etc if they had never seen those animals up close in the first place?
    On top of that, Sea World rescues hundreds of animals on both coasts of the US, and has emergency responders on call 24-7-365. S
    I understand and respect her choice, but there's far more to zoos and parks like Sea World than the "exploitation" she sees.

      Vegans are generally much smarter and aware of the world and what goes on. Misinformation comes from those with greedy profit driven agendas. There's no self interest or greed in helping other species and the environment, the greed comes from the industries destroying and killing because they are motivated by profits and power.Zoos and sea worlds take animals from their families and out of their natural environment and put them in a confined space for their entire lives. There are other ways to admire animals and help conserve species, like protected areas, national parks etc.

    • @moxshyfter
      @moxshyfter 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      "Zoos and sea worlds take animals from their families and out of their natural environment and put them in a confined space for their entire lives"
      While that may be true for some zoos, Sea World hasn't done so in over 30 years. The only animals that were born wild that stay there now are ones that were rescued and wouldn't survive on their own if released back into the wild. Is it a perfect system? Of course not, but just assuming that every zoo, theme park, rescue organization, etc is greedy and only looking out for their pocketbooks is cynical, short-sighted, and does more damage to the animals than good.
      In matters like this, if you really care about the animals, it pays to not over-generalize and actually combat the individual offenses rather than a whole industry. You're throwing out a lot of good baby with the bathwater if you don't.

    • @MrVeggieman11
      @MrVeggieman11 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      moxshyfter The very notion that humans think they have a right to take animals from their natural habitat and families and put them in a confined area for paying customers to gawk at is problematic at best.
      Sure some zoos and parks try to simulate natural conditions but of course a principled vegan will be inclined to not give money to these businesses when considering the full picture of what has happened to bring these animals into captivity, even if subsequent generations grow up in captivity and it's all they experience.
      Now that many people have seen Blackfish they are turning away from the likes of Sea World. They are now aware of the extreme confinement, stress and depression that captive performing animals go through.

    • @moxshyfter

    But I don't like the notion that life is a zero-sum game. There can be winners without losers.
    And really, some of those claims presuppose a natural order of ethics and general state of the world. That's not the case. Ethics are man-made. Value is a uniquely human concept and it's all intangible. You and the coffee pickers may feel underpaid. But the question is, what metric do you use to define adequate pay? How much quantifiable value do they add, and what happens if they're replaced by a machine. A little bit of something is better than a lot of nothing.

    All respect to Alissa, I'm her fan, but she is wrong in this video. Being vegan is NOT a lifestyle. Lifestyle is about the music you enjoy, the clothes you wear, the flavours you taste, ultimately, with the choices you make that concerns only about yourself.
    Being vegan is a moral positioning. Is about otherness. Is about don't do harm. Is not an option, is an obligation, like don't rob.

    • @dumisedodan
      @dumisedodan 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You talk about twist words, but you should know better the meaning of them. Hypocrite is one who acts differently from what speaks. It's not my case. I don't eat animals, I donote money to build sanctuaries, and participate on protests against rodeos and other animal exploitation events. I can be hipocrite about other issues, but I'm sincere about veganism.
      On plant sentience, all sources who claim this are biased and sensationalist, and have been properly denied by serious scientists. And even if they were sentient, we would have to feed us anyway. But it is a moral obligation to choose the way that least harms not only to animals but also to the environment and humanity itself.

    • @AeonStaite
      @AeonStaite 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel Noboru Umisedo Ah yes, because plants dont breathe, nor bleed, right? And show no response to other trees and plants being cut down? Actually, the reason it is against serious scientist, is science is political now. But again, you are a hypocrite, if you cannot accept the truth. And you sir, are further proof about Vegans.. egotistical people, who think they are all knowing and all better. Popping you on block now.

    It's okay to be a vegan but don't go and judge non vegan's or try to convince them to become one. Don't try to be a hero when your absolute
    not, vegans kill spiders, ants, roaches and plants, maybe like all others not with a purpose. Then next thing, if the entire world would be vegan then allot of people would be homeless right now, it's how the world "currently"roles. It "currently" cost more to make "vegan" only products then just cut meat and next thing. Don't judge non vegans on the their behavior ,well because you've got no right to. Why?. Well let me give you a few, do you tell your cats to not eat meat, do you tell a lion to stop behaving like he does?, next up, we all pay with money right? Well is your money cleaner then mine?. No. I'm okay with if your vegan and if that's your lifestyle etc but don't say that meat eaters go to hell ,because they won't or we don't know. Where all equally as guilty of murder, kindoff.

    • @lylli9888
      @lylli9888 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +arjan snijder how would people be homeless if we all went vegan? About your statement about cats/lions whatever; have you ever seen a lion go in to mass production to get a fine slice of meat? No, they eat what they can get. Besides animals are driven by instinct. We have this nice frontal cortex that enables us to take a look at those instincts AND choose whether or not we give in to them. This also explains roughly why the human race has morals and empathy. I'm not judging, just asking to think about some of these things. You do whatever you feel like

    • @aryinc
      @aryinc 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly, humans are like animals and have their instinct. Back in the prehistoric isle people would hunt for protience by killing animals and eating meat, the mass production of meat isn't something i'm big on either just eating meat to do it. But it's still not wrong to do so, absolutely not. And anyone trying to say otherwise shouldn't live with money at all cause that same money has been through a butchers hand and ruled by the mafia. Fact still is, eating some meat from time to time gives you "like a 1000 years back" allot of proteins and such wich otherwise should be collected in a bit more difficult manner.

    • @aryinc
      @aryinc 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      But i went a bit to far with the attacks, i'll take them back. To each their own offcourse, eating meat or not doing that doesn't make you better or worse at least if you respect eachother for the diffrence in opinion.

    • @aryinc
      @aryinc 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      pfff you think so,i don't think so. cause animals will die they're fate. animals eat meat and sind whe're also animals,eating meat is part of our nature. i think to each they"re own. it's a big case but it kinda is what it is. if vegans find a solution to bring meat eaters over to they're side then okay. but one thing we musn't forget is that"meat eater" or "non meat eater" we are all the same and noone is better then another. you know why??,because vegans also take money and allot of that money is blood money because it's been in a butchers hand...to each they're own i'd say.
