fuck he's right, it is necessary, he probably knows better than anyone what the second law of thermodynamics is. For there to be someone, or even people that can make something equal and opposite to the destroyer of worlds, the world must first be destroyed. Only then will people see how important it is to build the world up instead of break it down.
To me this feels like what would play at the end of a game where slowly over time, you would begin to realize that, you are actually the villain, the final boss was trying to fix everything, and now that you've killed him, there is no more hope for this world.

Fun fact: Oppenheimer also helped in the discovery of black holes, Oppenheimer played a crucial part in discovering blackholes, he was the first to predict black holes exist MATHEMATICALLY, remember "Mathematically", by that he isn't the first one to predict/came with the idea of a black holes existence. which kind of makes this music fit in with Oppenheimer as well.
Both movies really make you think how short is your own life and that there is no time to loose. There were countless people before us, and and much more will be after us. We are just the tiny particles in the endless universe, while we neither can see it entirely and at the same we can’t see the atoms we are made of. This is both beautiful and sad at the same time, but it means - we are alive.
It’s like as if it actually explains so much…in past, humans only thought about win, destruction, domination…but the second soundtrack screams, like there is still a chance for a happy ending, but only if we all try together to save our home, our world, our future….
