This show is soo amazing! I’m so happy there is finally a Native American series that show just real and everyday life! It’s just so raw and real! Reminds me of all my natives friends growing up! 😭 This was such a great surprise to see Ethan Hawk as her dad!
@@paulstensland3800i am hoping that this allows for other shows such as Indigenous Canadians version of Rez Dogs. Also hoping for a latin indigenous show like this especially from my mom's heritage being in Peru. Would love to see the indigenous Peruvian people in a show. But having a mini series where they focus on each of these characters would be awesome diving into Elora and her father and honestly I could watch her father slowly process things, i definitely feel he can't be himself since he's focused on logic and details rather than just looking at the moment and moments and what's right in front of him
Maybe Rez Dogs can get a mini series focusing on some of these characters. Especially Elora and her father. It's something I really want to see explored and hopefully. I think her father could've felt different, sadly he's focusing too much on the past and is making excuses not being there rather than being honest and just listening to her. It honestly felt that he was talking to a therapist rather than talking about someone who he left. I wonder how he's going to process it as well as Elora. All in all this third season is looking at the past and getting strength and learning more about where they came from and who were the ones who repaved the path before they walked upon it. So honestly a spin off would be cool. Reservation Journals or something with a few of the main actors exploring the world growing into adults. The idea of one going to Canada and engaging with people on Turtle Island would be amazing also the difference between a Reservation Indigenous person and Indigenous people in Cities as well as 2-Spirit peoples. I'd love for them to explore that. Different Indigenous cultures in North America because definitely the pop culture from American Indigenous peoples are different from Canadian Indigenous peoples as well as some of the vibes at least where I live most of the indigenous community of Tkaronto (Toronto) are more into art and teaching. Visual arts and cooking are a few. Would be interesting to imagine a Reservation Dogs (Canadian Edition)
His performance was excellent ... but honestly, he was just too old for the role. Hawke is in his fifties. It just doesn't add up that he was Elora's "too young" father. I just kept thinking that during the episode. Otherwise, just brilliant.
Brilliant example on how the entire series deals with very serious human themes, some very sad, even tragic - but the writing & acting is astonishing, always resulting in something universal and beautiful, without heavy pathos and cliches. The best 'test' is to take subject matters and scenes with absolute maximum pathos & sentimentalism potential - and see what Reservation Dogs manages to do with those. Having gone through the 3 seasons, it is just consistently beautiful, with a very rare human sensitivity.
It's amazing how some actors can really get into the character of being a slaker and basically just having zero passion for anything. I'm pretty sure his character in this show is definitely acting strong and masking to show that he's not weak
Mlahhhh asif Ethan hawke is her dad. That just shows this show is deserving of great actors and that great actors want to be apart of it. I really love this show
Great show , showing kids and adults never grow up we just hopefully learn and see our mistakes early and try to do better, Ethan Hawke is good in anything would love to see him do anything with Quentin Tarantino but it might get weird
Sense of finality. You don't know if Elora is gonna hold true to her promise to see them again. She said it herself, she got her habit of running from him.
Did y’all really have to ruin it for me? I open Google and it’s right there in my face. I thought the dude on the bike with her mom was her dad this whole time.
if u don’t want anything spoiled you gotta stay off the internet. Because you watch it it’ll most likely pop up in your algorithm on your apps, it was shown a couple episodes back that her dad was white, FX don’t care that you aren’t caught up with the show
Elora isn't taking any excuses.
Take it from my parents she isn't the first rez kid that didn't grow up with their father
Elora is the heart of this show ❤
@@nikkimiddlekillsday5161yes that super common on the Rez my cousin still hasnt met his dad and I try not to bring it up
I was so happy to see Ethan Hawke as her dad. Such a great actor and fit the role perfect. 👏
He's too old for the role. Otherwise, he was excellent.
@@dashx1103 true. But his acting and his character was a good fit.
@@rickpapakee8170 Agree. Like I said, “excellent.” Just too old for the role.
@@dashx1103- How old is he?

This is without question one of the best shows ever made. I'm brought to tears on a regular basis.
No doubt!🎉
That was a jaw-dropping reveal. Ethan Hawke was phenomenal. Both deserve awards for this episode.
I full on cried because this hit so close to home.
This show has been incredible, and this season has been filled with the best stuff yet.
PLEASE !! Don’t let This great Show END!!
It’s already a classic! Don let it END. !
Unfortunately all good things have to come to a close.

This show is so good and has life changing wisdom. I really hope they don’t end it. More people need to see this show.
I didn’t realize until the end that she, the actress, wrote that episode.
Great acting from the both of them.
It felt like they were having a real moment.
I'm so sad this is the last season of this show 😞
I feel there is so much more to their stories...I wish they wouldn't end the show
@@Anarchist9 There's so much more to all of our stories. I think that's what makes this show great, and what makes ending it now is great.
Maybe it will be like the rez tv show and. Do a movie after it

@@KdinIsHereto be fair most of the actors playing the role on this show are mostly indigenous Canadians actors
Ethan Hawke is perfect for this role. Just the right amount of a hole & slacker.

My friend and I were talking about it. He has done like 5 roles like this guy lol
His performance was excellent ... but honestly, he was just too old for the role. Hawke is in his fifties. It just doesn't add up that he was Elora's "too young" father. I just kept thinking that during the episode. Otherwise, just brilliant.
@@dashx1103stop bragging about his age, he was brilliant in it! Geeez.....🙈👎
@@scor66 Yeah. I said, repeatedly, that he was great. Doesn’t change that he was too old for the role. And … “bragging?” Wtf?

Such a fantastic addition to the cast and to the story. This show just continues to impress. Absolutely love it, and the cast are just so amazing.
This series is so good, it’s honestly so slept on.
Bittersweet~ sweet because this literally my favorite episode of the series and bitter cause I know this is the last season 🙏🏾
only 3 seasons ?? they just started to get into this show it was evolving
Have enjoyed series deeply. Take control of remote control in quarters, encourage people to watch... never dissapointed.
I like this episode bc she reunites with her dad n his kids like his first his kids accept her bc she’s the oldest of all them. 😊
My favourite episode...best character arc/circle for Elora!
Everything about this series is pure perfection.
Ethan Hawke is my favourite Actor ❤

Just saw Training Day recently this was icing on the cake to see Ethan Hawke play Elora dad
Ethan Hawke is a distant relative of mine.
I love him.
Greeeeeeeeeat episode. Soooo stoked when saw Hawk was in it.
Such a powerful episode
Rez dogs included walk and talk scene like west wing, blown my mind

Best episode of any series in 2023- and most other years, too.
My favorite episode!
Chill show
Is this a Boyhood reference or a Before trilogy reference having Ethan Hawke here like this?
maybe ethan likes to act
Nope. He's an actor. This is his job and this is just another acting role.
Probably a fan of the show and reached out and worked for scale.
Need another season
Come to think of it he would have look for her earlier if Mabel approves of him
Anyone know the name of the last song when Alora hugs her dad
It’s kind of wack that they decided to introduce her dad and her siblings with one episode left in the entire series. Come on, dawg
Sense of finality. You don't know if Elora is gonna hold true to her promise to see them again. She said it herself, she got her habit of running from him.
We see her leaving with one of his pickup trucks, so they kept in touch at least
very cool
He looks like he's getting liver failure

Where did he go?
I don't get it.
What, was he moving to a kkk compound? I don’t get your statement.
