How to speak truth to power without toxicity. Miriam could teach many people across the spectrum to engage and criticise, honestly and freely. We could all learn something from her. A lovely interview.
'speak truth to power'.🤦 Did you HAVE to?? That's just the kind of phrase she would despise. As for 'across the spectrum?? I can tell you're a child with little real life experience and are happy to suck at the teat of the latest social media phrases thinking in your delusion that it makes you look intelligent and educated. IT DOESNT, and in fact quite the opposite and a bore, of which Miriam would wholeheartedly agree with as she is a Cambridge graduate in English.
Miriam. Not that you’ll ever read this …. You always give me a belly laugh. When I’m a bit off, I happily listen to a mashup of your many hysterical best bits on the Graham Norton show. I could listen to your stories, and your humor, great intellect and straight ahead comments about life, and the obscenity of world politics. You are such a gift to the many.
I brought a cameo from her and I told her about how many of us (like you) are encouraged and lifted by her humor and good nature! She was sweet and said thanks! She said a gift to her admirers would be to, of course, read Charles dickens in her honor ♥️
Miriam is so authentic and such a gift in this industry, her command of Dickens is unsurpassable.... and her inner child is delightfully naughty! I love her curiosity of life and people and her want to learn. At her heart, she seeks to connect and find the good... which is a credit to her.
One of the few famous people I would love to have a chat with, or just listen to ramble on and on , she is a very inspiring and no nonsense kinda sort of woman. ❤
Brilliant interview. One of the best i've seen her give. Her interview with the former LBC presenter Steve Allan, was very good too. Miriam is indeed a thought provoking character. An absolute treasure 💎 of inspiration delivered with such eloquence 😊
A refreshing perspective on self. Why not be proud of owning the fact that you want to be noticed. I believe this is what makes Miriam so dynamic and refreshing. She does strength and vulnerability interchangeably so well.
do any actors not want to be noticed? maybe if youre a very good actor and your family is starivng or has cancer treatments youre paying for.. otherwise why would you do it?
What a Cracking Interview with Miriam, the best I’ve ever heard with her. She’s my favourite actress and I wish I could meet her someday. Miriam is a superb actress and I’m at a loss to understand why she has been passed over when the Honours are handed out, she should be a Dame, she deserves to be in that vaulted group of elite actresses.
I enjoy Miriam in films, in interviews and as a guest on British talk shows. She's direct, funny, and self deprecating. I imagine there are more people who like her than who criticize her earthiness.
Delightful Miriam. She reminds me of my beloved Nanny at the same age. She is so self aware, confident, honest and down to earth. She is real. Hilarious and compassionate. Dear Mariam, don't fear death. Our time, when it comes, will be just the thing to go on to a new chapter! xo
You’re already as good as them and more, Miriam, as you are Xx and thank you for telling us about how your parents felt about your career, that has helped me to hear that, you are a force and energy Xx
I adore Miriam and I am a huge fan of her brilliant work. I believe she would make a very impressive Nanny Og if someone were to make a movie about one of Terry Pratchett's books that feature the witches. I think that part was written for her. Miriam Margoyles is the epitome of what I deem a true preffesional character actress. I love her personality to bits..my most favourite part of her is her realness..she is so down to earth and genuine that I believe I would feek totally comfortable in her presence.❤❤❤
Miriam Margolyes is one of my all-time favourite people. I’ve never heard her talk anything but perfectly frank wisdom and sense. I was fortunate enough to see her live Dickens show many years ago in Australia. The highlight was the time she spent after the show just chatting with the audience. The dubbed version of “Monkey” was a cult favourite in my childhood, so learning that she had been the voice of Tripitaka just cemented my admiration for her talent. She is a gift to humankind❣️ 🙏
A lovely interview, I'm glad I came across this video. Miriam is certainly a great character actress, one of, if not my favourite. I always feel it's a shame she hasn't done more main stream stuff on film and TV.
An amazing human who manages to combine truth with kindness so brilliantly. Those who throw insults on social media should have mandatory courses in how to be honest with humanity like Miriam.
Miriam, you have warmed my heart. Your two words on friendship - Loyalty and friendship are the most important things to me and you are the first person that I have heard utter them. Thank you.
Dear Miriam.....loved hearing your perspective on life.....a good soul indeed. On a side note you always so remind me of my aunty Vera...you sound and look just like her. Jolly and honest too! X
When I left school and started work in London, I was amazed to find streets that had been named in some of Dicken's work. Being original names and often rather strange, I had no idea they actually existed! ❤ XXX
Very interesting and down to earth lady...as someone said here a Cracking interview...she has a very engaging turn of truthful phase ...this is an exception interview of her actually....and I look forward to reading her book....actually I have these Waterstone interviews ver good...
If you ever want your mind blown by M.M's character voice range, listen to her reading Bleak House, Charles Dickens, or any other of his books. She's out of this world!
Hope I can read her books one day. Can only buy them in certain countries it seems so will be a while. For now looking & loving the TH-cam clips of this wonderful woman.

Maybe she would, maybe she wouldn't. Anyway, it is the sentiment that counts, not the phraseology. @@adoculos4521
Being outspoken doesn't make her right. She is a good actor not a guru.
@@tessalister1226 oh are you the one who decides that?
