Hey scott, I really enjoy your videos. One question I have is do you know anywhere that would let someone singlehanded-bareboat charter in the BVI? seems like most places understandably require 2 people on board
Hi Josh, I have had this question a few times over the last 30 years or so. You will not find a reputable charter company of any type allow single handing. This is predominantly that insurance will not cover it, and almost every fleet is composed of yacht owned by individuals and leased back to the charter company. In all honesty even chartering to a full crew is a big risk, for many reasons, but single handing s charter boat increases the risk exponentially. You might find a private individual who is willing to charter to you, but they will not have proper charter insurance and the risk to you is higher as well with a private individual rather than a professional charter company.
