Thanks so much for watching! This might be one of my favorite episodes as it was one of our favorite days the whole trip, that seafood platter was MASSIVE, and I might still dream about it every so often, and by every so often I mean, very very often.
@@mrcjoshua thank you!! Henry loved the seafood soup, and Oliver doesn't really like anything but he was very excited about the fresh warm bread with butter ☺
Another awesome vid Iz, love your style you put your heart and soul into it and nail it every time. And of course the sea food is amazing! Beautiful family.
Hey Is I really love this series and hope that you do a ton more destinations! Quick question how did you guys snorkel with kids? Did only one person snorkel at a time?
Iz made these Portugal episodes so enjoyable and fun to watch, AND educational, AND authentic, AND delicious (the food though...)! Eater, you guys should definitely get more of Iz on your channel.
These Eater pieces are some of your best, Iz... you at your engaging, sunny, informative, entertaining best. I know it feeds you emotionally to reveal your psychological struggles, but I am only slightly ashamed to admit that I love you best when you’re just being a professional travel vlogger. Ain’t nothin’ wrong with that. We leave these pieces entertained, educated, maybe even inspired to travel the world as you do. That isn’t anything to be ashamed of. Much respect.
You made my heart sing today, I spend in Peniche many of my childhood summer holidays and I even use to be a teacher in Peniche, amazing memories of correcting student's copies down by the lighthouse when the fishermen boats' would come back to harbour. Pure joy, kind people, wonderful landscape and amazing food. I live now 3000km away, in a much colder place but watching you enjoy Peniche (and Lisbon, Sintra and so on ) just made my day. I hope you did not skip Obidos... :-)
I just came across your video and this series. I lived in Peniche for 3 months (pronounced Pen-ee-sh). It was wonderful to catch glimpses of one of my favourite places. Obrigada ~
I am in awe of your energy! Doing all that and with 2 young kids! As a Portuguese away from home I also love seing my country in your beautiful videos.
A Portuguese tip: at the end of the seafood always finish with a Prego, toasted bread with butter with a fine steak only seasoned with garlic and with mustard on top. It could be strange but believe it,it's amazing. It makes you drink one more 🍺. Don't drink and drive please. And also remain you kids away from the cliffs please. In Portugal we are very protective of our kid's 😁😁. ☮️
I have come across your channel recently, and I love it. I love your style of presentation -- breezy... and yet so packed with information. And all of that while carrying two small children with you... Amazing! Lovely shots and editing, particularly the drone footage. Of course, the scenery helps...! If I may make a suggestion: if you like meat-based dishes and wholesome food, you need to spend more time in the interior of the country, particularly in the north and center (well, everywhere, TBH) -- lots of different types of air-dried ham (called "presunto" in Portuguese), different types of air-dried, smoked pork sausages (called "enchidos"), and a variety of lamb & beef-based dishes -- not forgetting the ubiquitous salt-cod dishes ("bacalhau", in Portuguese). And, of course, the huge variety of bread (particularly the ones called "broa"), desserts, cheeses, and wines. Bom Apetite!
As always, amazing episode. amazed you are pulling this show off with two kids. The food shots, drone shots (the one at the end), time lapses.. and the editing AND most importantly making sure the kids are happy!
Well Portugal is know for the weather , gastronomy and fantastic views even being a very small country as a lot of variety in every aspect, hope you enjoy it and try everything!!
I came across this channel and wow. Great job. I loved the beach area and the amazing cliffs. I just started my channel about traveling the world as a travel nurse and hope to get the video quality like your videos. Your informative and fun to watch. Just subscribed :) keep up the good work
Traveler with a Stethoscope don’t worry. Everyone starts off small. Practice makes perfect. Keep at it and u can get the quality of videos Iike this channel 😀
It is absolutely amazing that you and your husband are exposing your boys to adventures like this. They're simply beautiful and I loved this video! I can't wait to show my husband and put this location on our bucket list.
the seafood you guys ate looked amazing, soo fresh. very curious as to what made you decide Portugal as the destination??? look forward to the following episodes
anyone kno about the drone flying and recording laws in Portugal? did you go thru that process or you were rebels? lol asking because i'll be in Portugal next week and just curious great series BTW. i'll be using this as a guide. thank you
Portugal, or as I like to call it, Spain's kindlier, more welcoming brother. Basically has all the good things about Spain but multiplied by 2 and very few of the bad things. Hopefully tourists won't discover it for a while, I have a couple of places for myself that are paradise!
@@SoundLad123 the food in portugal is fantastic, a lot better than in spain, certainly it does agree more with my stomach than spanish ultra greasy food. Portugal has the best seafood in europe bar none
Great video! I'm Portuguese and I subscribe everything you said :) Just one thing: did you miss the Berlengas fortress???? It's the most beautiful fortress, you would loooove it 😖
OK my first comment. (yeah not a huge deal but I felt like announcing it here) Out of ALL the eater stuff, I'm finding this one of my favorite episodes! (Except for watching the adventures of Cliff... He's way cool and a funny guy) These episodes are just so much fun and Iz's commentary is just so refreshing. I hope to see other adventures with her and her family in them. Truly a breath of fresh air in the Eater line up.
Wow looks like a rough life in Portugal, lol, God I think a vacation like that would be peace not a pain the ass, " OH GOD I've got to go shopping in Portugal, I'll trade with you haha you can come back to America, and I'll be grateful for the trip really I will, so you have such rough life on a once in a lifetime trip..WTF
Heading out there feb/mar. Planning a Roadtrip visit / faro - Lisbon - Sintra - Porto - Sintra. 6 days on ground. Your videos are really helping us plug in some ‘eatery’ details. One of us is a vegetarian and I’m being told that Vegetarian food is a struggle ! Also following all your tutorial videos. They’re well made - but doubt your travel videos can be bettered !
In this video I'm seeing something that annoys me greatly: lens aperture far too open. Seriously, CLOSE THE APERTURE! Look the part were you show the "percebes". Half the thing is out of focus. Opening the aperture to separate the object from the background is a honest technique, but it should be used in moderation.
Thanks so much for watching! This might be one of my favorite episodes as it was one of our favorite days the whole trip, that seafood platter was MASSIVE, and I might still dream about it every so often, and by every so often I mean, very very often.
Good job on another great video! Did the kids love the seafood too? haha

Lisbon and Porto have lots of vegetarian restaurants. Faro and Sintra also have some options. You can check it out on the HappyCow app or website ;)

You never talk about prices? Its cheap, fair or expense your meals?
all of the food was really reasonable in Peniche, the biggest splurge was the platter which was 60 euros, but it could have fed 4-5 adults!
@Iz Harris Ok that’s fine, I am Portuguese discovering Portugal with you, thanks
kinda short video but with best shot, amazing
thank you!
those arent the limpets i know, and limpets are not enjoyable.
yes but how beautiful she is???
i got my seafood pants ready!
thats what I like to hear! 😂
Wow! Your husband is the host of Vox atlas. Love that show and it's host! Btw, great vid!
God she is so pretty. Good video.
Iz is one of the most naturally good looking people Ive ever seen. Also Portugal looks rustic but fancy at the same time.
