@Nixon Colten hey guys maybe talk to your girlfriends if you're having problems instead of hacking their instagrams, thats wildly abusive and toxic, like, in no way shape or form is that kind of garbage acceptable to do to ANYONE let alone your significant other, get therapy.
you have to play the drums with the same intensity during sound check because they are EQing and getting the levels correct for the venue. If he plays chill at sound check, the live mix wont be tuned...
Ilan is an incredibly talented and entertaining drummer. Plays with total commitment and passion and a pleasure to watch. Thanks for the upload. Keep on rocking IIan and Paramore.
He crushes it in NIN. He gave NIN so much life back. I am a new Paramore fan. I should probably listen to Angels and Airwaves next. I heard Rubin’s own band too and it is pretty good.
Say sorry for what? It's that loud you won't be able to hear anyone complain... In all seriousness, I'm glad these guys still use real amps the old school way. It being loud is probably because this video was shot from right in front of one of those amps. It's sucks to hear I've been playing this song wrong the whole time back when I played this with a band. But I think I was just trying to fill in the lack of a 2nd guitarplayer and a dummed out bassplayer playing some kind of made up simplyfied version of this. Those were the days.
Jay Dong he is using the tamborine. He uses the crash above for the accents during that part. But he is using his 24" ride as a crash through various parts of the song.
From Ian’s own tweet...he’s ambidextrous. And a top man. Tweeted a reply to my question to him whilst in Europe on tour. You have to hear him live. His kit and style are nuclear.
He's better than Zac Farro imo. shame he didn't become permanent member after the hard altermative influence he gave in the self titled album. On the other hand, im glad he's now in my all time favorite band, Angels and Airwaves.
ilan joined AVA a year earlier from the recording of paramore’s self-titled, and he’s the drummer for nine inch nails since 2009. so he’s a pretty busy guy. but on the bright side, this allowed zac to come back in 2016, which was so great for the band. zac and ilan are two of my favorite drummers.
Yes he is way better. Respect for Dave Grohl he’s a legend but this kid kills the drums. But hey what do you expect when Travis Barker gives you drum lessons!!!
Joseph Smith I’m a drummer...I guess mist are who watch drum uploads! I also play open handed. Sometimes my left arm feels the way Rubins looks...drummers will get that. The angles of influence and comfort and all that. Rubins left arm is poetic to watch. It’s so fucking smooth that it makes me very jealous and very in awe. Into Dimon Philips as well right now. Toto drummer. He plays open handed. That’s also super smooth but it’s tappy. Rubin is smashy the fuck out of whatever he hits. Never seen anything like him live. His kit helps too. Booming 24” Q drum layered with Roland triggers to add extra...boom! It’s all boom. And I never thought I’d like this type of drumming. How anyone can almost steal NIN gigs is remarkable to me.
@@jamisbillson4872 he's really doing nothing especially intricate here, just hitting hard and doing some basic fills. the only reason you think he's amazing is because he hits really fucking hard (like grohl). not saying he's bad, but he is not on another league.
Yeah, but 2:11 is still worth it. Ilan is as goofy a drummer as he is talented. This is a sound test! He's funny, he really attacks every set as a challenge.
WTF is with any lead singer of a band just dancing in mute and taking photos during a stage rehearsal? How precocious are you to not test with the band?
Even during rehearsal he plays the drum like its the last gig hes gonna play.. salute to this young man
You have to because when it comes time to do the show your body wouldve already been conditioned to play a show
Im genuinely convinced he is john bonham reincarnated.

@@DyonnyDDrums1997 He used a 24 for Paramore.
Watching this guy playing drums equals to 5 cups of coffee. Awesome!
lol 0:56 DAT SAVE THO (hayley dropped her phone)
Totallly thankful for hearing Paramore playing one day at a skateboard shop. I was like, “ who’s that drummer?” The guy is awesome
I love how haley was just chillin' there
this man is so talented he can be paramore's drummer in the future
He actually made the beat of this song lol
Who else gets goosebumps during that last fill?
Can't stop to watch it.
Ilan is an incredibly talented and entertaining drummer. Plays with total commitment and passion and a pleasure to watch. Thanks for the upload. Keep on rocking IIan and Paramore.
I love the way his hair bounce!
you were so lucky to be there, thank you for sharing!
Love the enthusiasm! Keep it up!!

Super nice! waited this for a long time!
I miss him so much on Paramore’s drums!
He’s a beats! 🤘🏻🔥

Must say...I've grown quite fond of his drumming
Awesome. Thanks for posting this.
wow!
Ilan rubin ROOckksss!! oh Paramore too :D
WOW
2:11 i'm crying
Why?
I know what you mean.
Jah Wang coz he’s too damn good
all hands and feet are functional
That snare definitely gave Ilan back the money it owed him after that
Never say your sorry for this kind of loud guitar its amazing !

FIRE!
0:58 Hayley dropping her phone!
imagine knowing there’s a photo of you in Haley Williams’s phone @ 1:22
Scrantonicity are you part of the crew or something cause you have these dope as drum videos of Ilan.
This guy has figured out how to separate right lead and left lead... He can play both...WTF
He learned to play that way, he’s right handed but he’s said that it made more sense to him that left is left and right is right
yes,i know. that's the only channel of him, that's why I posted
i wanna see to Ilan rubin in south american tour
The New Regime is his solo project.
QOH EM GEEZ
this song is good even as an instrumental
Anybody know what Ride that is?! sounds sweet!
24" k light ride
Fred Lovett It's Zildjian 24" K light ride.
Well, he uses it as a crash.
Jay Dong he is using the tamborine. He uses the crash above for the accents during that part. But he is using his 24" ride as a crash through various parts of the song.
Does anyone know if Ilan is a southpaw? Seems like his left is dominant and his kit is set up righty
Arthur Kitchen That it does!
veerchasm1 I'm pretty sure he's right-handed. He just loves playing open-hand technique.
From Ian’s own tweet...he’s ambidextrous. And a top man. Tweeted a reply to my question to him whilst in Europe on tour. You have to hear him live. His kit and style are nuclear.
Almost dropped the 📱

Zac is still amazing though, his grooves on After Laughter and This Is Why are great. Love what they both did for the band in different eras

Thats the guitarist from MCR!
Bouncy hair :D
*En realidad, solo Jesucristo llenará tu espacio vacío, amén.,*
Sos pelotudo o te haces?
Zack Farro?
Look at him go! I did a drum cover of this song on my channel, check it out!
He is like Dave Grohl younger
aperezto he is better
aperezto...Rubins in another league mate. Seen him with NIN recently. Mind blowing in ways that Grohl would kill for. Rubin is nuclear live.

1:50 -2:00 lol
Piss off, mate. If it made it to the top comments, then people care.
0:58 me for no reason

Infelizmente o nosso batera não tem educação pra tocar
Ah pronto kkk
Watching him it occurs to me there is absolutely no sense in crossing your right hand over and not just using your left for the hat.
Except you play more/faster notes on the hat and most people are right handed
he's left handed drummer why he will just change his set ups
Man Illan is like 5000x too good for Paramore, glad he's moved on.
Yeah, but 2:11 is still worth it. Ilan is as goofy a drummer as he is talented. This is a sound test! He's funny, he really attacks every set as a challenge.
MardyBum100291 There are still some brilliant drum patterns regardless of what you think of Paramore...probably similar to me. In NIN IR is a monster.
WTF is with any lead singer of a band just dancing in mute and taking photos during a stage rehearsal? How precocious are you to not test with the band?
just use the old drummer
Just use ilan tbh.
this guy is awesome when he keeps it simple; loses me with the flash, loses the feel, the beat just a hair. frustrating!
Utter nonsense. No live performance is 100% in time. Unless you are playing to a click
