Used to be a trainer at a local gym near me a few years ago. Looked like he could go 15 rounds on the spot. Shaking hands with him was like trying to shake hands with the business end of baseball bat lol. Was a real privilege to meet him, still looks fantastic and I hope he's still doing well. Also, I feel he's extremely underrated in his accomplishments, so if you don't know, look up his resume.

@@M45N I mean compared to today's heavyweights he's not huge. Certainly not "puny" though. If I had to guess he's now prob 6'1"-6'2" prob low 200 lbs somewhere, and as I said looks to keep himself in very good shape. I never had the privilege of training there or with him. They actually had a really nice attached bar where they'd play all the fights at night and my girl and I would go all the time. You never knew who would show up when they were in town and he'd often be there also at night when he was a trainer there. Very humble and quiet. Would sit by himself and say eat a pizza and share with everyone. I worked up the courage to introduce myself one night and shook his hand. I'm in decent shape and we're about the same size and my dad always taught me to give a firm handshake. So when I did he gave me one back and said "Oh so you want to be a tough guy?" He was messing with me but he's a pretty intimidating looking guy in person and I about died. Had a good (nervous lol) laugh about it but he got me good. Wish I'd have taken a picture with him but it's a cool memory. One of the things I love about boxing that I can't say about many other sports is I've met a bunch of pro fighters and champions over the years and I've never met one who was wasn't a complete gentleman.

That's taking it too far. He was one of the best light heavyweights of his era, certainly the biggest puncher in the division at the time, but he never unified the titles and didn't face many of the top fighters in his division, but instead moved up to but heavyweight? A good fighter with a great light-heavyweight punch, but not even close to one of the greatest to ever put on the gloves, sorry.

When Micheal Moorer first came onto the scene I thought I had seen the most accurate puncher in my entire life. That's how accurate he was. I can recall when he was becoming a heavyweight I was stunned because he always seemed to be a naturally smaller guy. Excellent career one of my favorites.

He was a smaller heavyweight, but had no choice to move up, there's never been big money fights at light heavyweight. It's an odd weight class for boxing.

Good to see Moorer is cool about the loss to Foreman now, to even be going to see that movie he must be. I know he was bitter about it for the longest time, guess now he figures he may have been 45 years old but he was still George Foreman and there was no real shame in that.

He is a straight-up guy. He won most of the Foreman rounds. All he had to do was coast to a win. But, he chose to not run, and give the fans and George their due. Big George saw an opening and bopped Michael.
But, Michael was a great young powerful boxer. I loved watching him fight and his interplay with Teddy Atlas.
His knockout and throw down of Francois Botha was extremely inspiring, after watching Michael just fighting to survive, a suddenly waking up and realizing who he is, and ending the fight. Same thing with the first Holyfield fight.
God Bless this wonderful boxer. He did his thing in boxing, took care of his boy, won, lost, put it behind him, and out of the limelight, acclimated himself to the daily living of his own life.

It is good to see how Michael Moore has grown since the Foremen fight. It is good that he has created purpose in his life and does good things with his life today. George Forman is one of those once in a life time people who overcame so much in his own life, So for Michael Moore to in a way minus the return to boxing to accomplish a path so positive is nice to see. Best wishes to Mr. Moore in the future.

Mike Moorer was always class, both in and out of the ring, and a hell of a fighter. What he said re what he's doing doing today, and being a PI and taking care of himself and his affairs he was saying even back as an active boxer, - "Nobody pays Michael Moorer's bills, I do!" Gotta love the guy, and yeah, he's looking great. Peace, Gus.
