As a 65 yr old jazz trumpeter (5th/2nd chair), that is as clean and solid of lead playing as I've heard. Would love to see you in a live sight-reading situation with a big band. Not sure how old this cat is but I dig his style. Nothing flashy just SOLID and IN TUNE!! Nice job young man. Keep at it. That instrument is a BEAST and you will NEVER master it. It's all about the PURSUIT!
Way to kick it and swing w/ passion which inspires me as a guitarist who's influenced by Jazz standards since I use to play in high school Jazz band so I love hearin horn players like you cuz I really have a great tone and make that melody full of life. Cheers!
As a 10th grader 1st and 2nd Chair. I love going back to this video and playing it it's so clean and all in tune it's such a beautiful jazz piece to play Well done!
What you talking about? I’ve played this dozens of times and never heard one lead trumpet player struggle to play this or complain that is a hard blow.
better start listening to REAL lead work, this is just boring, nothing to excite the audience such as ....when you come to a long not, hit it, back off a little and crescendo it out......this is basically lack luster. high school
@@MrProplayer1 literally haha, I don't understand why we can't support each other, guess its part of the ego you need to play the trumpet, some people haven't fully harnessed it yet
Your high register is so clean. Kudos to you
You make high notes sound like regular notes. That is the best compliment I can give you.

Much love!! And that’s actually the majority of what I do, sight read/show up and play the book type of gigs
Deedles - what a pure, stellar voice. Thanks for pulling this chart up. Brings me back about 30 years. Great job on the lead book!
You make those high notes look so easy, I'm jealous
It's trumpeting, jazz and I wish there was more of it! What a set of chops!
I thought you did a great job! Crisp attacks and a brilliant, sparkling sound. Keep up the good work!
More like this please. Great video and wonderful playing! 😀😀😀
Brilliant!!
Love your sound! Not too thin. Nice and crisp.
Excellent lead playing! Super crisp.
He's awesome and Diane Schurr is absolutely superb!
had to come back and have another listen.stunning, so clean.
Yeah Garrett!! Sounds great!
I wanna play just like you! You sound so amazing!!!
The audience OBVIOUSLY liked it !!
OMG! MR. G! You Student taught my band a few years back! I was 4th trombone in jazz band.

Clean!
You should do the trumpet solo in Ouverture from Gyosy.
Diane Schurr so good

Well done mate
La Class!! 🎺 👏
killin stuff!
Oh my. Did you dump bleach all over your trumpet or is your playing normally this clean??
Sharp.
Love this part!! Any chance you'd be able to share where you got the chart from? Can't find the sheet music anywhere online for big band!
do you know where i can find the sheet music for this song
do you have advice for high notes? and can you tell us what equipement do you use and do you use professionnal trumpet horn?

Dam
niceplay😂
Garrett, You sound great. What horn are you playing?
Yamaha Chicago! (YTR9335CHS)
You look like the dude from ZoneofTech lol😂
Hey i know that guy
This is so fake. That trumpet isn't made out of lead at all, didn't even try
You messed you misread the last note
you play the whole song without messing up then?
I believe the player on the recording plays it early.
Well notes were fine. It didn’t swing. No dynamics and your interpretation was way off. Yeah clean notes, learn to swing it man. Good luck.
A little pitchy
Well played!
This really isn’t a difficult lead part…..there’s little that particularly high or sustained
Nice chart tho, nothing better than playing under a great singer!
What a douchy comment.

@@jonburton1935 no one was asking how easy it was for you but we’re all very impressed
Perhaps we have different ideas of being impressed. Take a look at Louie dowdswell….. and let me see if you’re impressed

Lots of keyboard trumpet experts out there.
Care to show us how it’s done? With all that talk, I thought there would be some videos on your channel…
