Probably promoting and using class consciousness is the best attack there could ever be on MAGA. A non-attack, don't mention red or blue, Trump vs whomever, the two-party system, etc. Remind people who their own people actually are, and who they are not. The corporations on welfare, the strategic bankruptcies and bailouts, who it actually is that stuff helps and who it hurts - perhaps the scales will fall from their eyes if people realize they have more in common with the homeless population than they could ever wish to have in common with a billionaire.
i mean it was not exclusively the very rich that voted for the neo fascism a lot of people don't care if they get hurt so long as they get to watch a different underclass get hurt
You are correct and we can all get to that level if we want. My advice to everyone is this : if you want to grow big this year especially in your finances. Be willing to make investments. Saving is great but investing puts you on a pedestal where you wouldnt have to worry about savings as you do now. Thanks to larysa Caba, my portolio is doing really great and im proud of the decisions i made last year.
Thank you. Just got done with therapy, and my counselor reminded me that the overwhelm, confusion, and panic is the goal. We must remain calm, connected, and informed.
huge thing to mention as well: push for comprehensive campaign finance reform. we need to make it possible for people who aren’t old and generationally wealthy to win elections
Corporations are already deep in the pockets of both parties. Voting is a dead end. No one is going to swoop in and save the day. All, and I mean *all* American politicians serve one thing: capital. Only we can save ourselves.
I cannot overstate how important participating in LOCAL politics matters in the US. There is so much you can change at the local much faster than the federal: - Housing & rent - Minimum wages - School funding & education. - Policing (funding and policy) - Judges and Sheriffs (underrated) - Addressing the unhoused/homeless etc - District Attorney - Environmental - Healthcare Changes locally, bubble up to the federal. This is by design, so use it. Do not wait for your perfect presidential candidate. The far right have leveraged this for years. The left and progressives need to catch up and take the levers of power back. These are far easier to win than the presidential, and longer lasting.
I liken it to a person's job resumé. You usually get better jobs the more you've worked and proven yourself at prior jobs. Politicians are (generally) elected to higher offices after proving themselves at lower ones. We ARE the hiring manager, we have the power to decide if we like a candidate for a particular job or not. Now, the scary part that I've seen is when positions run uncontested. And this is also why getting interested in local politics is important, because then you start to notice those gaps. People might want things to change but if no one steps up to contend the person in office, nothing will change.
Until people stop voting for career politicians it doesn't matter. Everyone votes only "their color" down the ballot in local and federal elections snd this is what you get.
Hold local government - city and state government - accountable!! Look into idle funds in your area. It is BANANAS. (Los Angeles is sitting on BILLIONS not millions, billions!!! in unused funds that are allocated for everything from housing to public works)
thank you for making this. I'm a federal employee, so a LOT of attack is on our labor rights right now and a lot of it is completely illegal. My mental health has not been good as I am new and likely will be laid off.
Politics seem to be less of "Red vs Blue" and more "Poor people vs rich people" nowadays. The idea is to make yourself rich so you don't have the problems of the Poors. They don't want to make things better, they just want to make the problems not affect them anymore
And in a country where the poors have access to guns, it's not even going to work for them anyway. A group of very rich people tried this stunt in France a few hundred years back. Maybe that's why the rich are so against education .. they don't want the poors to know that there is a way to fix the problem.
it has always been the working class (the poor) against the owning class (the rich). only difference is here lately in the US, the rich have been joined by the aspirationally rich
REMEMBER DARLINGS: DESPAIR IS NOT A PLAN. Incomprehension, despair, and apathy are weapons used to divide us and crush our spirit. We will hold on and we will survive, because our plans are better than despair. We have the best of resources - we have each other. And in the ways we stick up for ourselves, we must stick up for each other too.
@@GeorgianaMicu-c6x unionisation, community action, mutual aid, and protecting one another from danger is the ONLY way we will survive Trump, facism, and the looming collapse of our climate
Democrats are very left on social issues related to culture wars, in positions, that nor even Europeans have gone that far: Enabling, encouraging and protecting illegal immigration (sanctuary cities); allowing children to transition genders; abortion up to the second trimester (the standard in Europe is up to the first trimester); Gender/Race wars (affirmative action and critical theories been the most controversial). Some European politicians has warned that Europe shouldn't let itself be infected by toxic online American political discourse, and actually concentrate in the biggest source of inequality and injustice, economic inequality. And let's not pretend European are perfect, their soft foreign policy, specially towards Russia and China, has been a total disaster. They empowered their enemies and competitors. And immigration is used as a non conventional way to wage war. India and China have effectively used it to kill and silent their critics refugeed in Canada and the USA.
All the parties have shifted right for decades. The super far right is just a way to make the right more palatable to people. It’s all a ripoff where people are slowly but surely stripped of their rights, imo.
We need to move beyond this stupid Left/Right algorithm-driven echo chamber false binary anyway. While, yes, MAGA and its Euro counterparts ARE fascists and MUST be 100% opposed full stop, we need to stop thinking of Left/Right, Red/Blue as a binary but as a SPECTRUM. And that spectrum looks different in different states...simply shouting for the Leftiest of Left progressives (even if some would like that) WILL NOT win elections, that's just not how some states are demographically or culturally. I'm sorry, to win a coalition, we need BOTH Centre-Left and Progressive Dems. You can say, like Chelsea, that you want more Progressives and a more Progressive voice (that itself is, again, a spectrum, there are certain things I as a lifelong Dem like about Progressives and certain things I cannot stand) BUT the fact remains that, unless you're just gonna cause 20-30 million new Progressives to pop up out of the ground like carrots to beat BOTH the Dems and MAGA GOP, mathematically in different states we will need BOTH. Coalition, not conflict, between the two halves of the party. And that itself means moving past fighting over who is Leftier Than Thou...the ONLY group that benefits from that kind of infighting is, ya know, Trump/MAGA fascists.
The past week I've spent far too much time spiraling and feeling hopeless, as well as incredibly let down by my elected officials. This video is the first time I've felt like someone feels the same anger and frustration that I do, and I so appreciate the practical and real advice on moving forward right now. I'm sorry you ended up doomscrolling for hours, but I'm grateful it led to this video.
For a hope inoculation, I highly recommend reading Democracy in Retrograde (millennial civil engagement) & The Small and the Mighty (historically focused)
8:35 OMG CHELSEA PLEASE GET THE LOUD SPEAKER!!! This is what I've been telling people! Stop being shocked at MAGA. They LOVVVVE anything that sticks it to anyone they don't like. Doesn't matter if it's against their best interest as well.
And they are really starting to say the quiet part out loud. I watched a video today of a Maga woman saying that she was thrilled to see families torn about by deportation and that she considers them "subhuman". You can't argue with that. Just have to build community to fight for working people.
This. It may not feel like it now, but we have to remember most of the country is not maga. Ignore the people who clearly are and focus on the people you can actually talk to.
I appreciate you saying its a "war on poor" because that is how it feels as low income earner with high interest consumer debt trying to finish my bachelors degree. I don't qualify for welfare, don't have insurance, pay too much rent for a studio, jobs are hard to come by even with people with bachelor's in high demand interest, and it seems that nobody cares to acknowledge this reality, let alone change it.
I don’t think anyone knew it was going to move this fast regardless of how much we all knew this was coming. It’s very jarring. Doomscrolling feels like a responsibility.
It feels like a responsibility, but it's NOT. Remember that the overwhelm you're feeling is by design. They want you feeling powerless, so that you roll over and take it. We need to take our rest seriously if we're gonna do this. It's gonna be a LONG marathon. Not a sprint.
Can I also just say... IT'S TIME FOR LEFT-LEANING MILLENNIALS AND GEN Z TO START RUNNING FOR OFFICE!!! I think we all feel like our voting options suck... But anyone can run for office. Why not LITERALLY be the change you want to see in the world?
We also have old cronies in our politics for too long, but in our elections last year 2 newer (younger) parties are really shining for me. Goodluck and support younger politicians!
Listen Pollyanna. Bush, Obama, Trump, Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, Sanders. ALL totally evil wastes of oxygen, and all ELECTED by typical American voters, not serious about who runs their cuntry, and who are in love with wealth and power. LEFT is pro-worker. LEFT is pro-children. LEFT is pro-common sense. NONE of that is represented in the DEMOCRATIC branch of the ruling UNIPARTY.

LOOOOOONNNGGGGGGGG time listener, first time commenter. THANK you for your courage to speak up when so many in media are remaining silent. Been looking up to for for years and years.. now even more
Thank God because I don't understand how nobody is just screaming at the top of their lungs every single moment of every single day. During the last Trump admin, I ended up going to law school to cope. Now, I have no idea what to do, and it is so much worse, AND I understand so much more given I am now a licensed attorney. Like, he just froze all government spending. Since when does he get to decide what laws to follow and which ones he doesn't If that's the case, then why do we have elected representative at all? How much money could we save if we didn't have to pay for all those senators? This entire thing is insane. Then, the democratic party is either silent or completely behind the eight ball. There is a floodgate of corruption and illegality, and the "leadership" of the democratic party CANNOT or WILL NOT keep up. Then, just now, I see that Facebook (Zuckerberg) is paying Trump $25M to "settle" banning and restricting his access to Facebook after he started an insurrection? I'm sorry, I call that a bribe not a settlement.
_Right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must._ Thucydides, History of the Peloponnesian War If you truly want to understand what's going on you're gonna have to abandon your bourgeoisie shibboleths and read Marx.
You always continue to inspire me, but this is just taking my regard of you to higher levels. You are such a wonderful person Chelsea, and thank you for speaking out. It truly makes me feel less alone in this fight.
The system isn’t broken, it was created and then carefully honed and maintained throughout administrations from both sides of the aisle. It doesn’t mean both sides are equally bad, but we can say that this is unacceptable and we can demand more from a government that we should never fear, they should fear us when they do less than everything they can for us.
I started my day calling my reps at 5am and leaving messages basically in tears. Cause the reporting I was seeing sounded like the dems weren't saying shit apart from tweeting. It disgusts me the gop is so horrid but it's equally disgusting that dems didn't throw hands immediately upon leak of the memo. I want parliamentary level screaming from the people who are supposed to be directly fighting for us. All well said. We need an actual Left party with actually progressive goals and the nads to counter fascists.
The entire world is being up heaved. Look at Germany, Italy. I believe there is an awareness going on, and to quote a 1976 film “Network”, “ I’m mad as hell, and I’m not gonna take it anymore!” We are not the ones who are out numbered. Our strength is through unity. Just remember. “We the People”.
As a European I was shocked, what’s happening in my country (Austria) but honestly we are small… have nothing to say in a global context. But the elections in the US might initiate a global shift, that partially already started. Democracy is dying and we got to fight for it. I really had to cry, when I read the comments. It’s heartbreaking that a government chooses its own wealth and interests over the people they’re meant to care for and keep taking from the poor and the middle class and take away even basic human rights especially for women.
A large wealthy middle class is a huge unnatural anomaly under capitalism. Things are reverting back to the norm. Unfortunately, the norm was ass for 90% of the population. But if you work hard for your lord, your reward will be eternal life in heaven💀
@@laurilu1364 Yes, that is the function of any, and all governments, and has been for all of human history. Thinking governments EVER cared about you outside of its ability to control you is delusion

Same thing has happened and is continuing to happen in Australia. We have a duopoly of far right and not as far right major parties in our country "two cheeks of the same arsehole". We cannot vote ourselves out of this system, the whole economic and political system must be changed and only when we ordinary people join together can we make that happen.
To be fair, our preferential voting system in Australia works well. I helped kick out a long time Liberal and get an Independent in my electorate. We need people to realise there are other candidates and that non-majority govts can work here.
“You’re not going to reason them out of this because they didn’t reason themselves into it” IVE BEEN SAYINNGG (thank you for this Chelsea, we need more people talking in this way)

16:19 PREACH!!! A lot of people need to stop acting clueless about the power of their purse, start getting themselves out there and fund projects that directly help their communities. Especially projects of resilience that hold your community together. It can be as simple as subscribing to a politcal magazine or funding their meetings. Pay someone's rent, etc. Do something with that money!
Please put together a list of actions, small to big, so that people can start acting and protesting. Public opinion still matters, how we vote with our wallets still matters! 💪❤️
"We have to focus on a better alternative". YES. This is a great video, Chelsea. We're facing a federal election soon in Australia, and the leader of the opposition party has literally be nicknamed 'Temu Trump' but I'm worried a lot of Australians are going to vote for him simply because Albo (the centre left leader) has done exactly what you spoke about - pushed a very similar agenda, but just more slowly and with a more progressive sticker. You're right - the only way we're going to build something better from all this is to put our heads down, ignore the noise and push forward. Thank you
@zoemcleod5998 I remind myself that most people couldn't read above a 3rd grade level back in the 30s and 40s when the robber Barons were fighting wars against the working class. I guess we're fated to live in "interesting times" forever. ✌️
I have really struggled with people feeling like none of this affects them and they just wanted more money in their paycheck. What is more money in your paycheck going to do if the economy is horrible and we are paying so much more for everything else.
Regarding LA wildfires: Fossil fuel companies have convinced the LA mayor to loosen construction laws pertaining to reducing gas hookups for new construction, because rebuilding with gas appliances will be "cheaper" than rebuilding the DESTROYED houses completely electric. Fossil fuel companies are literally gazillionaires and they can afford to lower their prices to just below the electric/renewable energy appliances on buildings. They see this as an opportunity. They literally don't care about anyone. The justification that the Mayor is using to loosen these restrictions on gas hookups for new builds? "they've gotten more efficient!" Fact check: How much more efficient? 1-2%. These gas appliances have gotten 1-2% more efficient. We need to reduce our emissions down to ZERO, not reduce by 2%.
Thank you for the video Chelsea! I’m Mexican, that have the USA citizenship now too, but I’m hurting right now with all the mass deportation and the hate that is building up. My boyfriend was walking toward the Dollar when an older lady was murmuring “they are stealing our jobs”. Children at schools are being held until they ask their parents if they have a legal status. In theory this doesn’t affect me, but it affects my community. I’m scared, disappointed, overwhelmed and I don’t know what to do. We work really hard to be treated as criminals. I don’t know what to do or feel. I’m just deflated!! 😫😫😫
Thank you for taking the time to talk about this, Chelsea. This is so critical right now, and you are exactly right about what we need to do. There is hope, but change will take work from all of us.
Volunteer/take action 1-3 hours a month, make it a habit for the rest of your life. If you want this to change, it means everyday people need to consistently invest in fixing our country. Right now we rely on retirees to make calls/door knock/vet candidates and we need every day people. Volunteer with your local Dem party, primary non progressive candidates (this is the key moment when you get better politicians in) and then volunteer/vote blue up and down the ballot in the general. Make it politically viable to not get elected by corporate money. March, boycott, strike. Anything that comes up push.
Thank you for making this video. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one worried. Particularly worrying is that he's stacked the department of Justice with his own personal criminal lawyers. Think about that.
I was just home for six weeks this winter. Set my 23 yo sibling up with a Vanguard Roth IRA and individual brokerage account and had a 2-hour conversation with my other sibling on this exact topic. Thanks so much for posting this. I shared it with them. Building personal wealth is not failing a leftist purity test, it is creating a buffer between yourself and the jaws of the world, and creating the freedom to take bigger risks for bigger rewards whether it's running for office or direct action.
As always and I'm not the first to say, scrolling and posting isn't action. Action is action (and there's a lot of resources to step into and get going on and none of it requires a big march). It's a difficult time not to overweight "intake," but for ourselves and our broader work, it's necessary. Yes stay informed, no don't let it crush you or steal all your energy. It's as important to be aware of what's going on and willing to act as it is to share laughter and food and empowerment through community. So very much thank you for taking your own over-intake anxieties and turning that into knowledge shared, and for being outspoken on your platform -- not always the easiest in darkening times like these. Be kind to yourselves and your fellow anxious doomscrollers out there.
A comment for the algorithm boost: Thank you so much for making this! This is a rallying cry I needed to hear and have sent this to multiple friends who also care about this stuff
Amen girl. What you described is also happening in my country, Greece. And what you said about center left doing damage and only "far" left protecting the interests of the poor is so spot on. It has reached a point where if you say something remotely promoting the interests and welfare of the vast majority of people you are labelled communist and made fun off.
I know too many people who didn’t vote & are NOW upset at the results & whats happening. This is why you vote! Get involved in your community. It’s starts with the home. Be aware & part of everything. Know your neighbors & community. We must stick together.
I thought it was pretty funny. Harris wanted to let the Dem's billionaire donors keep pissing on us while also calling this the last election to prevent fascism but politely stood by and clapped while the fascist took power. Almost like the campaign was all Kabuki theater. When are you gonna see that it's all just a racket?
While I am somewhat concerned by what's going to happen, but I'm terrified by the fact that NOBODY will learn a lesson from it. We are a right wing county with 2 right wing parties, and the majority like it, INCLUDING the people who stand to be harmed by right wing policies.
A very brave video. From Europe it does appear you are currently falling deep into fascism, corruption and oligarchy. Something we know well. Videos of resistance and education like this can only help. Hoping you can all get through the next few years after already surviving the decade of instability.

Thank you for this. I’ve been trying ensure that my critiques and criticisms do not just focus cult of personality that is Trump and MAGA. Hyper focussing on him prevents addressing the actual issues.
the democratic party can't represent the landlord and the tenant at the same time. until we have a party that is dedicated to class consciousness, fascism will win.

Im a first gen Mexican American and also lived several years in Lyon and took political courses over there. I share very similar sentiments to you, and I appreciate you voicing this perspective. I’ve been struggling a lot seeing a lot of the Latinx community in sheer panic, and as easy as it is to catastrophize it isn’t a way to go about our lives. The Biden and Obama administration definitely contributed to this as well, I’m just trying to have faith and trying to stay prudent on behalf of my family. I can’t afford to waste time focusing in the maga agenda because panic is the last thing to make change. The most I can do is involve myself in the community I don’t know, I’m truly struggling seeing my community in a lot of panic, and I see the reasons but it’s too consuming to put energies there. Anywho thank you for bringing this up.

Let's be honest, our government has never really worked for anyone other than the extremely wealthy. We nailed the coffin of this country when we decided to embrace unrestrained capitalism over the well-being of other humans. Unfortunately, most American voters are politically and financially uneducated and will be distracted by side "issues" while the politicians allow the extremely wealthy to pick our pockets .

Hi! I'm only 6.5 minutes in but totally agree. I'm a lil ol MBA from a state school. Yes, since 1980 productivity gains have outstripped labor's wage gains AND tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy have left us with massive wealth inequality. And I very much agree that our center-left Democrat party has been far more effective at shutting up the far left than it has the right. But while the middle & working class can't articulate it well, they are screaming for the end of neoliberal policy. Unfortunately, in America, RACE IS A PROXY FOR CLASS. So people get easily confused into attacking minorities when they should be attacking the rich. I'm the choir, and now I'll settle back in for more of your truth preaching, sister.
OK so I watched the rest. Good stuff. To your point that PROGRESSIVE Dems need to stop fighting MAGA and instead stand for something, here is Robert Greene, saying much the same. It's a good video, except the middle where Ari Melber felt he needed to look smart, so he asked a distracting question. th-cam.com/video/lo1mYHgqBPg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GXvyEivXBHArJmSd
To my point about neoliberal economic policy, here's a great explainer of what that is. And although it's from a British perspective, their Labor party has the same center-left problems that our Democrat party does. th-cam.com/video/UK5-cQriE0o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Iev5DrIEIlH-LW0d
Two things I think we need to focus on are 1. Making the rich pay their fair share, and 2. Increasing labor's pricing power. The first is addressed beautifully by Rutger Bregman's talk before the Davos crowd. th-cam.com/video/P8ijiLqfXP0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ipKgwiK92pEjb_0p
Finally, as for increasing labor's pricing power, we need to flex some muscles we've let atrophy for 45 years - supporting unions. That means asking questions about how unions work on TH-cam channels like Robert Reich & A More Perfect Union. Thanks again for your great video.
Thank you for articulating all the fury and urgency that's been swirling around in my head since the election, since the inauguration, since the funding rug-pull this week. I deeply appreciate you for using your platform to share this message broadly. I'm hoping it gets a ton of engagement beyond the usual TFD circle. Maybe it goes without saying, but WE help US. It's always gotta be about helping folks in our communities, especially if we have the means, the ability, the knowledge. We form these coalitions to turn things around. It was never gonna be the democratic party or a single presidential candidate. We help us. Now for something I thought of when you mentioned mutual aid and donations: if you work for a big company, your company probably has a "giving" program where they will match your donation dollar-for-dollar. Unless there's a caveat to donating your money this way that I don't know about, consider donating $100 or whatever you can to a women's shelter, a food bank, a homeless outreach org, an LGBTQ shelter... your choice. Now imagine you work for a conservative company, maybe they even donate to republican candidates. How fun is it to make them double that donation to an organization they'd never support. It's just a thought. Y'all have a nice day.

1:53 - 2:05 You hit that RIGHT ON THE NOSE! 1) Keep folks scared and confused so they don’t see the REAL threat. 2) Create the problems and then take credit for “solving” them so folks keep looking at you as their messiah. {insert eye roll here} “We have to focus on building a better alternative.” ❤
Thanks for the historical context. Im so tired of people believing that this is not a constructed bipartisan screwing over of poor/working/moddle class ppl. And the complicity of the ppl.
I kept shouting YES so loud in agreement with so many points you made that I'm pretty sure my neighbors think I'm having a much better evening than I am 😂. An excellent summation of the stakes. We can't let ourselves get doomer pilled and the Democratic Party as it currently exists isn't going to save us. We have to save each other, and in the process we'll save ourselves.
Money is bipartisan. You have some of the most sensible thinking on this that I have seen online. Thanks for this. I think you just prevented a panic attack for me lol for real.
I saw a post earlier today that I really liked: "It's not red versus blue, it's the very rich versus you."
The truest statement, I hope voters realize this and fight back against the pseudo-ogliarchs
it is red vs everyone else, including blue. I don't remember "blue" usurping the role of congress to unilaterally turn off the government recently!
This is the truth.

Stop running your mouth about "democracy" when Harris was installed and not voted on for her candidacy.
They've convinced a lot of little people that they care about them and have their best interests in mind. It's the opposite.

If we all treat it like The Prohibition and decide as a community the policies are _too much of a pain_ to enforce. Most of the country won't bother.
Naah, you need to get out your pitchforks and spears.
huge thing to mention as well: push for comprehensive campaign finance reform. we need to make it possible for people who aren’t old and generationally wealthy to win elections
I'm 48 and meaningful CFR has been something I've heard discussed for years now. When will we get it, ya know!?!
Also ending the two-party system with more democratic voting systems than first-past-the-post or instant runoff voting!
The people who can make that a reality are the people who benefit from the current system.
Anything other than proportional representation is not democracy anyway, imo.
Corporations are already deep in the pockets of both parties. Voting is a dead end. No one is going to swoop in and save the day. All, and I mean *all* American politicians serve one thing: capital. Only we can save ourselves.
“You can’t reason someone out who didn’t reason themselves in” was an amazing way to sum up the need to stop fitting with the far-right
I cannot overstate how important participating in LOCAL politics matters in the US. There is so much you can change at the local much faster than the federal:
- Housing & rent
- Minimum wages
- School funding & education.
- Policing (funding and policy)
- Judges and Sheriffs (underrated)
- Addressing the unhoused/homeless etc
- District Attorney
- Environmental
- Healthcare
Changes locally, bubble up to the federal. This is by design, so use it. Do not wait for your perfect presidential candidate.
The far right have leveraged this for years. The left and progressives need to catch up and take the levers of power back. These are far easier to win than the presidential, and longer lasting.
This. People often discount local politics while not realizing that your local representatives are much more within your reach then D.C. is.
A lot of this would be solved with removing these illegal migrants.

I'm so sorry. Know that we're grateful for people like you doing their government jobs with integrity as long as it's possible for you to continue.
I'm using this entire comment now as a quote due to it's one-hundred percent-ness ;) Thanks!
The dirty secret is that it's always been this way.
You JUST now realized this?
it has always been the working class (the poor) against the owning class (the rich). only difference is here lately in the US, the rich have been joined by the aspirationally rich

Europeans would describe the Democratic Party as Center Right - not all of the Democrats, but a lot of them. I wouldn't call them Left.
100%
The Republicans are far right by their standards

"We have to focus on building a better alternative. That has to be what we do."
This needs to be said a lot more often. The system is working exactly as designed. It just wasn't designed for *us.*

Thank you for this, Chelsea. I'm an American currently abroad and have been for the past 2 years. There is so much I want to do but can't be hands on because I'm not physically in the States. I can donate from afar and will do so, I can stay informed and will do so, I can advocate for reform and politicians who are left-leaning and push (not just with words) for change.
Not only in the US or western counties; it is also happening in Japan😢 far right is huge now, and maybe worse as in our country most of people do not speak up. I admire you speaking up. From Japan, a big fun of your financial tips❤
America is cooked- look after Trump called Puerto Rico a garbage can my best friend - who is Afro Puerto Rican and most of his family voted for him. Things are going to get way worse before they get better in the U.S.
The doomscroll is real. The corruption is widespread. I just keep noting all of the shit happening on my phone. Tracking fallout and just keep telling people what’s real. That’s how communities are supposed to work.
Thank you so much Chelsea. Also, quick point that may or may not be relevant to people: if you do not manage your money yourself, PLEASE check if it's invested in any of Trump's scams. Some financial advisors have taken this opportunity to purchase crypto with your money.
I feel inspired. Thanks for this pep talk, Chelsea.
100x Yes! Thank you for speaking up about this topic.
Let’s move forward together. Something else is possible.

To my point about neoliberal economic policy, here's a great explainer of what that is. And although it's from a British perspective, their Labor party has the same center-left problems that our Democrat party does.

Two things I think we need to focus on are 1. Making the rich pay their fair share, and 2. Increasing labor's pricing power.
The first is addressed beautifully by Rutger Bregman's talk before the Davos crowd.

Finally, as for increasing labor's pricing power, we need to flex some muscles we've let atrophy for 45 years - supporting unions. That means asking questions about how unions work on TH-cam channels like Robert Reich & A More Perfect Union.
Thanks again for your great video.
Can you do a dialogue with AOC about the broader implications of financial literacy and how government impacts and amplifies the income disparity?
That would be awesome.
Chelsea, thank you for using your platform, eloquence, knowledge and wisdom. This community is beyond lucky to have you.
Thank you for speaking up! It’s been so much silence amongst creators, brands, etc.
Thank you for speaking the truth 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
How do we invest ethically?
Actually a very good question
In India , everything is off on the voting day , and there's a voting booth on walking distance everywhere for everyone ❤ i like how far we have come
It is also a lot of chaos so the people are distracted from their worst actions.
Your iPhone quality is great, thanks for spreading the message. You are completely right!
I've moved from a really bad country to the USA for a better life. I've studied and worked here for 5 years now, paid taxes throughout the whole time. it scary to see what's going on. I'm not safe back home. USA feels like my home now. it's terrifying
You deserve better. I was born here in USA, I'm a bit worried for myself. I can only imagine...
@SpilledRooibos after 5 years of living her and getting married to a citizen, I still don't have my green card & residency. I'm still a "non resident alien" on my paperwork. I'm terrified he will do something that will mean I have to leave and I've built a life here now... it's scary. thank you for being understanding
@@daisy_elle_ Stop fear mongering, nothing is happening to you, grow up.,
It’s like you’ve read my brain. There are so many of us who feel exactly this way and we need to organize.
Don't blame me, I voted Bernie in 2016.
Thank you for your service! I couldn't vote then unfortunately
SAME!
Yes!!! This is important and so important not to fall into the chaos as your say but keep the eye on the important things!
PREACH!!!
Please, please, please let us remain calm, connected, and informed
Thanks for the historical context. Im so tired of people believing that this is not a constructed bipartisan screwing over of poor/working/moddle class ppl. And the complicity of the ppl.
Yeah, much of the left talks with the undertones of the right.
Yea just carry yourself like a proud cat. Even if you're sick don't let them see it. Make this whole thing pointless for them.
Super proud to see you speaking on this. 🎉🎉
