They leave it all behind for their fans to enjoy; and for newer generations of people to discover and enjoy. I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that people will still be listening to B.J. Thomas and enjoying his music for the many years to come; that's how great of a talent he was.

Playing some of his tunes on You Tube now w/ our morning coffee. Awoke with one of his songs and searching for it, can't remember the title...will find it, after another coffee. Loved his music, and yes, it does indeed help chase away the Covid Blues !

I got to know him through his Gospel songs. Very nice soothing voice like hearing from an angel. Truly a great talent that deserved all the accolades. Your personal testimony blessed me and I am sure a lot more! One day we'll meet again my brother in the Lord.
I had the pleasure of meeting him in 1982 in the theater where he played he was so handsome and those blue eyes he was a gentleman and great love songs ballads so sorry for this loss but he had true faith in the lord great voice I did kiss his cheek too great night of memories thank you bj for your talent

Raindrops Falling on My Head which came out in 1969 was one of the American songs I listened to when I was growing up in Taiwan. It's interesting how a song can give a child a sense of what another country might be like and the dream that one day he could go visit and see that country. It happened for me. And today I am living the American dream in my 50s. RIP Mr. BJ Thomas. You might be gone, but your songs live on and continue to touch many people.

I was in the Republic of Vietnam fighting communist. B.J. lived across the street where I lived in Euless, Texas when he was a nobody. Thomas was a great artist.

Same here. I was a kid growing up in Zambia. My Mum bought the record and my sister and I sang along to all these beautiful songs. We watched The Brady Bunch on Zambian TV - and dreamed of one day visiting America. Subliminal images in children's minds. RIP Mr Thomas

to put my two favorite Gospel songs On a CD later on!! It was so great. Hubby wanted to take a photo of us but so many people were waiting and he had just given an astounding concert, I didn’t want to take up more time but now I wished I had of. We even had the same color shirt and jacket on.
But I will never forget him, his voice, or songs as I live.

I remember 'So Lonesome I Could Cry' from my early teen years! I was never a country fan but I couldn;t get it out of my head no matter what else I was doing! Such a sad song but sung so poignantly and perfectly, as is B.J. Thomas' way! The words of the third verse really get me!
It's been covered by so many people I don't consider it a country song as all. When Thomas was always on the radio, all C7W people sang though their noses!

We saw BJ in Myrtle Beach with Bob Hope in '74 as I was 13, man I felt so proud like I was living the high life. Sad to hear he passed at only 78 years young.
