    25:45 "Hot V" engine designs aren't bullshit. It has racing roots with Ford using it in the 60s, Ferrari using it in F1, Audi's LMP engine, current F2 cars, etc. And most OEMs are using that exact setup in their twin turbo V8s.

  • @mikehigby7897
    @mikehigby7897 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    They both make good power and will hold up long. R&D over the years proved that twin screw is always more efficient than roots style. The twin screw compresses the air in the blower where the air to air intercooler is and the roots style compresses it in the intake where heat soak is already present.
    The roots style gives a bigger initial bang but doesn't do well up top in high rpm's compared to the twin screw which gains a lb of boost up top due to its more efficient design.
    Honestly though, does any supercharger whether it's roots, twin screw or centrifugal stack up to the 4.9 liquid cooled kenne bell with the bigger internal air to air intercooler?
    Probably not .

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The tvs isn't a typical "roots style" blower. Do little more research on them they are more efficient at making power and making it consistently than twin screws. The only way a twin screw can match or exceed a tvs is with alot more displacement. If they're close to the same size tvs wins all day every day.

    • @michaelharris748
      @michaelharris748 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably. Both cars were ran on the same dyno same way vmp didnt lose hardly anything being ran the same way. Theyre known for heat soak thats why they make the liquid cooled units. Its more about how you want the power (powerband) i prefer the vmp because heat is the enemy the one that does best against heat is the one for me plus it tends to make better low and midrange power and torque.

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They don't bother making a newer 2.8 because they can't compete when displacement is close it has to be much larger to seriously compete. This proves vmps point even more lol. Displacement for displacement it's not even close.

  • @DJToneRI

    1:33:34 Yes. Lots of people care if you own it. If you "gap" someone in a car that the bank owns, or that is leased, or that you haven't even made the first fucking payment on, what pride can you really take in your win? Did you even really win? It's not yours. In the street, I, (and many others) respect the guy who put in the work, blood and sweat to build his race car FAR more that the schmuck with the button down shirt and the 800 credit score. Real racers know.

    Weak comparison on VMP’s end. A Fucking 12 year old blower to their what, 2 year old? Actually kinda impressed with the KB

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why would you be impressed with the kb? It is larger displacement and got SMOKED. It was only down 20 horse on peak to peak runs but did you see what happened on back to back to back pulls? Not even close. The 2.8 kb got bitch slapped. Yes it's an older design they don't bother making newer 2.8 because they can't compete with that size blower it's gotta be a 3.6 liter monster before they can do anything.

There is nothing unusual about these results its about what you should expect kenne bells have always been known for heatsoak once you start spinning them that is why they do the liquod cooled blowers.

      That said you're a tuner. You know a twin screw is the better design. That comparison VMP did was bullshit too. Anyone not being biased should be able to admit that.
      One of the best boost engine builders is Anthony Disomma. Ford, Chevy, Dodge doesn't matter. Saud Alzabin is a bad ass tuner. You will find DRE and DDR together a lot. Find me another street driven 6sp coyote with a Hellion Eliminator kit with twin Precision 64mm turbos make 1346 on pumped gas. No nitrous, meth, additives of any kind. Just pumped 93. • @midnight347
      @midnight347 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actual runs are gonna be worse for the kb. It gets smoked period point blank. You can blame it on old design or blame it on bias testing or whatever. No matter how you slice it the 2.65 gen3r smokes a 2.8 kb every day of the week. They don't make a newer design 2.8 because there's no point they know they can't seriously compete with the tvs they don't even bother. They only make big 3+ liter blowers now because anything under 3 liters won't compete with the tvs offerings out there today.
