As far as I know, this was written to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the alliance with Austria-Hungary, I'm sure you have some posters and paintings on the matter you could have used for the background instead. The "Kaisermarsch" in the alternative name is referring to the Kaisers of Germany and Austria-Hungary. Regardless, thank you for uploading!

Could you please react on this French history video (I know it is over 2 years old but TH-cam is full of them):

In this channel. I don't want to be political or Something but they stadet in this video that the Merovingians and Charlemange where French kings while they where no more French then Dutch, German, Luxemburgisch or Belgium etc.
The Merovingians (Merovinchen) didn't even speak French but spoke a Germanic language.
First real king of France was in the 11th century (or 9th century if you count West-Francia wich I do and most Historians agree on).
This is just to dispell any misconceptions.
I know this has litlle to do with what you normally post on this channel, but you also discuss German history somethimes, right? Both France And Germany have there origins in 9th century, but only France is unificied from there. Pre 9th century is a mixture of both, right?
Btw: and oblously Louis comes from Chlodovech just as Ludwig so of Germanic origin.
Indeed they were not French as we understand today, they were Franks of Germanic origin and especially Karl was very proud of his Frankish origin which is why he made his capital in Aachen in the Frankish area.
But they can still claim his a founder of their state ofc.
@@dr.ludwig Yes indeed, but the thing is, that that counts the same for Germany or the Netherlands or Belgium etc right? Not Solid France right? And in certain videos in TH-cam (*like the one, with the link from my comment above I would say*) they make it look like that is the case.
And most historians vieuw West-Francia as the *100% official* foundation of France from 9th century onwards, with the increasing prominence under the rule of the House of Capet, founded by Hugh Capet in 987.
