German scientists (Fraunhofer Society) now developed a battery wich has 20-100 times the capacity of li-ion battery with 1/4 of their size and can be loaded within minutes. The battery also produces no heat during charging and discharge. So in 20 years this vision can be true. (The battery is carbon based and does also not need exotic and expensive raw materials.
I love these pictures, this very retro-futurism. If only the 2000s would really be like they imagined them. My favourite aesthetic is indeed "steampunk" and everything of that sort: quite advanced (and often quite strange) technology but with historical aesthetic, all in an alternative history world where romantic nationalism didn't stop and everything mantained its character. "Steampunk" is originally conceived for a victorian England, but I like when it's applied to all parts of the world, each displaying its character in that way. The only thing I want in "steampunk" but there isn't often is clean energy, because being inspired by the 19th century, it also has its polluting coal obviously. But how I love those images of airships in the clouds 😁
