  • Hey there DCS Brothers & Sisters. Just a quick vid nailing 4 Tanks in one pass using AGM-65F Mavs. Views via my Cougar MFDs & CUBESIM screens. I'm happy with this setup given my limited space & the Top Gun Maverick GIF in my NZXT Kraken looks pretty cool too. Please choose 2160 for best viewing & I hope you enjoy.
    Cheers GA 😉

    I loved this! I'm always stuck in my VR headset and don't have anything like this. It looks very cool. Part of me wishes that I could add these frames etc to my build but I know it's going to have limited use and plus I'll never actually see them while in VR. Awesome video style as always man! Loved that end shot of your system! Nicely done indeed.

      Those Thrustmaster MFD frames are just button boxes by themselves (no screen) and thus can be mapped in DCS like any regular joystick or Windows recognized HID.
      DCS allows you to bind the aircraft’s MFD keys to specific inputs, making 1:1 button mappings possible on those MFD frames, when used in the F-16, A-10 and F/A-18 (since they all use MFDs with 5 buttons on each row).
      Some folks use them in VR simpits by placing them roughly where the MFDs sit in real life (and in VR) allowing the user to reach easily for them whilst “blind” without removing the VR goggles.

      @@tver Thanks for the info! I had considered using them in DCS for the buttons, doing as you mentioned by placing them where they should be so I can use them. I actually use a device called PointCTRL which allows me to interact with the cockpit using my fingers. I made a video demonstrating it. Regardless of that though, I'd still love to get the various panels etc. to use but many who use PointCTRL said that they gave up using them completely as PointCTRL does the job. Well, I guess it helps me to save money for computer upgrades. :P

    GMT mode would have made that even easier. It's a slick jet! nice vid.

      Hmm thinking about that GMT, I'm not sure you can nail 4 moving Tgts in one pass using it. Give it a try & let me know how you go 🤔

    • @StrIIker-TV
      @StrIIker-TV ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GazAce For me, GMT is more about finding the targets so that you can then use your TPOD to select the one you want to hit. I'll have to play around with it more to see if it is something which would make sense to use to hit all 4 in a single pass. In the end, you still need to slew to your intended target if the GMT locks up the wrong one. I think it would work though as your FLIR will be locked back into the target area right off the start and then slew to select.

      @@StrIIker-TV Yea 4 hits in one pass is a bit of wank really lol. I mean if you think about it, it’s rarely used in our missions but it’s fun anyway ☺

      @@GazAce Well that's why it's worth doing! How fun is it to test your skills than by getting a lot of ordinance down range and on target?! It's good to push for realism but of course, we need to have our fun and creature comforts while flying in the virtual world! Besides, it makes for awesome videos to watch!

    Awsome video. Have you heard of Winwing GasAce? They make awsome products for the hornet specific. Have a look at their UFC...I highly recommend it

      Thanks Adrian, much appreciated man. Yes sir I've seen Winwing & your right they do make awesome gear. I was recently thinking of UFC but limited space & being AC specific kinda kept me away from that idea. Maybe one day.

      Thanks brother, appreciate that. 3 × Thrustmaster Cougar MFDs with CUBESIM screens mounted. Main monitor.. 34" Asus XG349C ROG Strix 180Hz UWQHD. Which looks totally different in this vid to RL.

    Useless in VR which DCS is made for as you can't ser them when on VR headset.

      Yes, correct, screens are useless in VR. What is your point? Does it show here he is using VR? Does he talk VR? Is VR mentioned anywhere on this channel besides comments like yours. I typically don't reply to comments like this, but you triggered me. I challenge you then: I tried VR, I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO VR EVER AGAIN even if I am the last person on this planet using a PC monitor.
