Nice vid mate, effect is cool but I hope ED will tweak those trees and make them made out of wood and not the rubber :) DCS Trees coming soon to early access at 28.79 USD, bananas will be a feature added post release right after the coconuts coding is completed :)
Thanks Luke brother! Well, they do get latex out of those, don't they? 😁

Nice stuff Ace! Always a pleasure to watch your videos. Afterwards I feel at peace with the world. It’s also always great to see the Hornet in action.
Thank you kindly Strikes 🙏 ☺️

@PAKGOV True but don't forget you get nice freebies to start. Fully updated Caucasus map & the ME (Mission Editor) with life long free updates plus a free Su-25 & P-51 Mustang. All you need is a good PC, decent GPU, throttle & stick & your set for endless fun & adventures. Oh yea, I almost forgot, mega stock & training missions for practically all modules too! It's a no brainer man. DCS is the bomb!
Hey! Nice setup you got there mate! I never got to order my Hornet lamp in the end. Maybe one day!
Big thanks Luke brother. Yea I love the lamp man, had it two years now. Just now ordered the E-2C Hawkeye, looks amazing. They have heaps of different military AC & also tanks & other stuff too. You should get one & you don't need the remote either. The JTAC never says report IP inbound. It just gives me an option for attack complete after he does the read back.
That vid is well over a year old but JTAC is currently working fine atm as I just built a mission with a Patrol incl. It's ok he doesn't call IP inbound, as long as you get the coordinates & then the "no further tasking, good job" after your kill.
@@GazAcebut it doesn’t even give me an option for him to turn the laser on. It simply gives me an option for attack complete
@WillMaigur What mission you flying?
@WillMaigur ..depends on mission parameters man. You carrying Laser guided weapons? Is JTAC using Laser? Is the terrain blocking his Laser? Lots of variables that determine what the Patrol is going to do ok.
@WillMaigur I'll look for a JTAC mission in my collection in the DCS User Files & send you the link ok.
Nice! I’ve been loving the Strike Eagle. It’s hard to pass up on the thrust, fuel and payload capacity that it has. I wish the Navy had used the CBU-97’s on the Hornet so we could use these weapons on it. They are pretty amazing.
how do you get the radio chat up on the screen like that

Awesome that it helped & thanks brother 3dmax911 ☝️🙏👌
Hi, congratulations on the video. I have a question, why does the JTAC tell me 8 digits and not 6 like what happened to you?
Thanks for your kind words brother. Not sure why JTAC call 8 digits. Also when I build missions & use the MGRS coordinates from a position on the map so I can then relay that to the Player via a in-mission mesg box, the coordinates are 10 digits. Have a look at my more recent JTAC MGRS coordinates mission here. th-cam.com/video/1sR_WiGKq9s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=z4hcuWHPeZjddg5N

Terrific video Gaz, thanks for posting! Been having some trouble with jtac mission, this is a huge help! I hadn't even known that the jtac 9 line was on the kneeboard! I've been trying to figure out how to not have to write it down. LOL
Your welcome Brother. Glad it helped out & yea no more pen n paper. And I hope ED soon give us our actual Hornet in Pit Kneeboard back 👌
For Zealand Wylie who asked.. "What if you are given 6 or 7 digit cords?" Only ever received 8 or 10 in DCS that I've experienced anyway. Sorry, your comment wasn't avail here man, only in my email.
Love the vids sir.. keep at it...
Thanks Barney-ic3uy, much appreciated brother. 🙏 Lots of new content coming soon 👌
Hey man! Great video! You have a solid style which I always look forward to! I noticed that you were having issues getting that laser maverick on target at higher altitudes and close range. The issue was that you need to nose over slightly and get the target inside that Laser Maverick circle on the DDI. Once the target is inside of that, you can launch and it will track the laser. Also, you don't need to continue your dive at the target as you were later in the video, you just need to ensure that the pod does not get masked. I triple checked this by flying a test mission and had 100% success against moving targets using the Laser Maverick as long as I released while the target indicator was inside the circle on the maverick display and had zero issues after release when I pulled and banked away. I tested releasing at around 17,000 feet and 5 miles. Can't wait for those missions and mission videos!
Thanks Strikes! Much appreciated mate 👍 😃
good video👏
Thanks SAEVONIX! 🙏 👍 I recently did one on the AGM-65E Laser Mavs too, if you haven't already seen it.
Cheers GazAce 🍻
Is there a way to do this in the F-15E?? :/
I'm sorry Brother but I can't answer that question. I do own the F-15 but I haven't flown or learnt it yet. I'll get around to it one day I guess. Sorry couldn't be more help.
@@GazAce many thanks! 🙂👍🏼
You'd think those guys would get a bit suspicious when smoke starts going off right next to them 🤔 th-cam.com/video/epSbqvzbKiQ/w-d-xo.html
I can’t rifle unless I switch to the left ddi
Give me some more information brother & I'll try & help you. Like are you using AGM 65-E or F ? How high are you & what distance are you from your Targets & what speed? What Targeting POD are you using? Also if your using AGM-65E Laser Guided Maverick, make sure your Laser switch is set to Arm. And does your DDI have the diamond in the top right hand corner to make it a SOI?
Im using the F, starting at 15,000ft and diving towards the target. I wait until TTMR is good. i have the lightning pod pointing at my first target, then tdc depress, the mav is uncaged as soon as it warms up in 3 minutes. Mav on the hud is still X’d out unless I switch to the mav screen and I can rifle. Then I pressed scs right a few times to switch to the next target and do it again, but the next mav doesn’t move to the next target. After a few attempts, I found out I have to cage and uncage, which makes it impossible to hit 4 targets. I’m assuming they changed something.
I just saw this video from less than a year ago, I hope it works for me, although I liked your method better. th-cam.com/video/Jz1iUzNzVgg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=R_SWYsaNwc9QJWyX
@@chittychad18 Sorry I took a while to reply. When using MAV-F do this Brother. First lock up TGT with Litening Pod's Tracking Gate on right DDI then go SCS Left ( Sensor Control Switch ) Diamond on Left DDI so as its active showing MAV-F camera. Then hit your UNDESIGNATE button with whatever you have it slaved to ( or letter "S" on kb) then manually slew the Mav-F's camera with your TDC to the moving TGT. Soon as the cross hairs collapse around the TGT.. RIFLE! Then quickly try & find next TGT either by using your WPDSG to get back to WP then slewing from there of just slew the MAV-F seeker again. Check this Vid I did a while back, nailing 4 TGTS in one pass. th-cam.com/video/bz5IwiNMjyY/w-d-xo.html also this one.. same deal but at night & also mission included th-cam.com/video/BcUbeiQXb24/w-d-xo.html
@@GazAcethanks man! I’ll give it a try tonight
It has been 3 months... just sayin.. 😀
Great video, the last little pull I needed to switch from the Warthog hotas to the Virpil hotas. It's gonna make my wallet a lot smaller, but hey, quality never comes cheap. The only "disadvantage" ... only the throttle they have in stock, the Stick and Base are back-oder which could last a month or two. Nevertheless ..... it's something worth waiting for. Thanks a bunch.
Your welcome brother huigsnellenburg6144 & weirdly enough the exact moment you left this comment I was replying to a request in ED Forum messages to leave my mapping profile for this Throttle & Stick set up for someone, which I can also do for you if you wish as a starting point, then you can alter with changes later as you wish, no worries at all but it's only for the Hornet though. You will love Virpil & in my opinion they're light years ahead of Thrustmaster. Not saying TM is bad or anything, I had many years of enjoyment from my TM Warthog Throttle n Stick but after updating just to Virpil, I think in relation to durability & precision, it was my best choice. Thanks for watching brother.
@@GazAce It's done, I have placed the order. I'm kind of used to the Warthog throttle (for the F/A 18C) and considering the "muscle memory" I have build over the years it is better for me to map it as close as posible - for most buttons and switches - as it is mapped on the Warthog. There wil be a lot more possibilities/options with the Virpil for which I will refer to this video for sure. Thank you so much for the offer. I will get back to you as soon as I have received this wonderfull piece of craftsmanship, which has clearly taken the wishes of the virtual pilots into account. BTW .. when I fly MP in DCS my name is Yogi 5-1/HuggyBear
Really awesome mapping and video, thanks for taking the time to showcase this. Any chance of getting a export of this profile? I've just received my cm3 throttle, had the alpha R for a while now. Finally looking forward to enjoying the f18. I'd take the time to make a pdf mapping of it and send you it as a thank you for sharing with us. Cheers!
Hey there OfficialVoxDzn, very much appreciate your kind words man. Thanks kindly for the PDF offer but I'm all good with that. Hit the little envelope tab in ED Forum & send me a mesg ( same name GazAce ) & I'll reply with my F-18 mapping profile, no problemo 👍

Cool video. Just downloaded it. Thanks for posting the mission. Nothing is worse than somebody showing a fun mission or training mission and not posting it.
Yea true! And thanks kindly, much appreciated. Remember, it's only a little practice mission though. I have a mega 2 hr Sinai sortie mission coming in a while brother. Stay close 😉
@@GazAce Yeah I get it. I actually like the quick little practice missions. They help me hone my skills so keep them coming. While this mission looks easy you have to be fast and I failed the first few times. Love these kinds of things.
Nice shooting, that's harder than it looks.
Hey thanks Lochaby brother. Yea took me a couple of runs while testing. It’s all in the slewing hehe 😊
Nice Video! I love the night maps now that they improved the lighting. The Sinai map is a beautiful map but it beats up hard on performance when over any urban areas. Small nitpick. You actually loaded out the ATFLIR and not the LITENING II pod as mentioned in the video.
Thanks Striker, appreciate that Brother. Yea performance slug is there, especially when flying low but I think this is our best map so far. I've got a big Super Carrier day mission coming for Sinai soon. And if you can, stop the footage at 4:21 when 3rd Mav is launched. You will see from the missile flash that TGP is mounted directly under Station 5. ATFLIR cannot be loaded there Brother & that shot I used as my Thumbnail here & also there's no WP ID in my right DDI which only ATFLIR can do. The Litening has had improvements over time & it's looking way more sophisticated than it used it.. I mainly use this one, although I do like the WP ID feature with ATFLIR but for me it's Litening II all the way. Thanks for your support mate 🙏👌
@@GazAceYeah that’s my mistake! I don’t know what I was thinking. The display had different symbology as well. I saw the zoom jump as you started looking for targets and I thought “hey! I thought the LITENING II pod can only smooth zoom in and out”. I forgot that it can jump like that as well with the wide to narrow display. I should load that LITENING II pod more often because I forgot way too much. Thanks again brother! Keep that awesome work coming! Love your videos.
@@StrIIker-TVThanks Strikes, much appreciated man. The Litening II is best I reckon because unlike ATFLIR you can Centre Load it or Station 4 Load it too but not ATFLIR. Also when you have Litening II under your belly you can even out your weapons for nice weight distribution you know. I had to re-Sub you again man as I lost you in a big Sub cull recently 😲😃

Thankyou Crazy 🙏 Your welcome 😉
@@GazAce I'm waiting for a rainy day to set everything up. Do you have a PDF showing the mapping?
This video needs to be shorter unless the guide is also about how to do radio menu comms with JTAC. Essentially the good stuff starts at 7:16 -- which is "how to enter MGRS coordinates for F/A-18 waypoints." Slightly extra material that would be helpful is this: understanding MGRS coordinates in general. MGRS coordinates are not all the same. After the letters in MGRS, there are 6, 8, or 10 numerical digits -- always an even number of digits. Essentially divide that number in half, so 6 is XXXYYY, 8 is XXXXYYYY, and 10 is XXXXXYYYYY. It looks like your JTAC gave 6 digits in the 9-line and it looks like the F/A-18 takes in exactly 6 digits so that's a direct input situation. But what if the JTAC gave you 8 digits or 10? I play on a multiplayer server (Through The Inferno) and MGRS coordinates through server comms (F10) features are given as 10 digits. The conversion is simple -- remove the same number of trailing digits per X partition and Y partition. Example: Say you're given 36RWU1234567891. You have 10 digits at the end, 5 X digits and 5 Y digits. First it helps to parse it out to 36R WU 12345 67891 -- now we can see the XXXXX part is 12345, and the YYYYY part is 67891. If your DCS module (F/A-18) is only expecting 6 trailing numerical digits instead of 10, you need to drop the 2 least significant digits from each part. 12345 for XXXXX becomes 123 as XXX, and 67891 for YYYYY becomes 678 for YYY. The entire thing becomes 36R WU 123 678. The removed digits is giving you less precise coordinates within the grid, but should still get you looking at the right area. I'm actually surprised only 3 digits of precision put the targetting pod right on target in this video. I'm not 100% sure on this, but in the opposite direction (you need more digits than given), I'm guessing you just pad with zeroes. So if you get only 6 digits, and you need to input 8 (the AH-64D needs 8), add zeros to the trail. So 36R WU 123 789 goes to 36R WU 1230 7890. I got what I came here to learn, but had to fill in some gaps.
Thanks for all that input. That Vid was 2.5 years old. I suggest having a look at this more recent one I created. th-cam.com/video/1sR_WiGKq9s/w-d-xo.html
Wow Thanks a lot for your comment ! I was stuggling a lot, and now I understood why. Really really nice of you. Thank a lot and good flights ! Please @GazAce , if you see this, pin this commentary, it was so helpful to me, as it can be to others :)
Gaz - Great video - just wondering how you got your name and callsign on the acft?
Thanks David, much appreciated brother. My good buddy Gierasimov I met years back through DCS ED Forum knocks them up for me, he uses Photo Shop. I'm sure if you ask nicely he might do one for you too. He's an awesome dude & not much he doesn't know about DCS too.
@@GazAce Cheers Thanks Will have to contact them -= nice to se anothe rin the same time zone
@@davidemmett8806 Anytime man. Yea I know right 👍
Just wondering what I may be doing wrong. New to AFAC/JTAC but right after I fire the mav I get “Abort, abort, abort. No permission”. What can I be doing wrong here. I get all the way to inbound and laser on. As soon as I’m in range they yell at me and mav goes dumb
Hey Matt. Firstly, thanks for checking out my content brother. Ok, you might try approaching your Target from a different position or altitude. It may be that your approach is putting your JTAC Patrol in danger. Otherwise if this a mission you created yourself, then try repositioning your JTAC Patrol to a different spot but obviously making sure they have a clear line of sight at your TGT. Let me know how you go. Cheers GA 🙂
It is important to train with tanks moving between buildings and not on straight paths. Straight paths only happen at the beginning of a war. On the battlefield, they move between hills, trees and buildings. Much harder to get lock this way.
Copy that.
@@GazAce Any chance of a new video with a tank moving random across a city? :) Would be helpful. I lose a lot of fuel until a good lock.
Did you pull on the stick when you were in close or did your trim go wonky? Great pass! I feel like the pop up IFLOLS is inaccurate and I also dont use it.
Thanks for your kinds words brother Lochaby 🙏 I never pull or push on the stick, only pull at the first turn off the Bow. I forgot to mention that Speed Brake auto closes when Gear down activated. Trim was ok, I was just trimming up & down trying to get the Vel Vect level with the E bracket. Yea the FLOLS leads you astray I reckon.
Bro in the mission editor my aircraft picture didn't show in when i making a mission why is this happening can you tell me
I'll try & help you BISWAS. Can you explain a bit more in detail brother? Like what aircraft pic do you mean? In briefing panels or where mate? Is it in my video here that it does show? If so, tell me the time stamp in vid & I'll check it out. Do you mean your Aircraft in mission? Did you select "Player" from Drop down box or "Client" for Multiplayer?
Sorry to miss leading you bro i mean super career didn't show in my mission editor like your video just showing on 5:55 know.
Have you any solution for me?
Sorry for the spelling mistake i mean super carrier
@@biswabasasahoo9033 No need for sorries, all good man. Have you purchased Super Carrier? If Yes.. then in ME ( Mission Editor ) go to left & select the little Ship icon then on right hand side interface under Naval Group select from drop down box "Type" then which vessel you want CVN-71 to CVN-75 click on map & it will appear. Also make sure water depth is deep enough for your SC. If no joy with that or I'm not getting what you mean here.. PM me in ED Forum & we'll check it out in more detail.
Nice settup,enjoy!
Thanks brother 🙏
Great Video and already downloaded the mission. Can’t wait to practice in the beautiful Marianas! 1 question, how do you disable the FLOLS?
Thanks kindly Greyeagle & I'm glad you grabbed this one, it's a beautiful map. To disable FLOLS all you do is go ➡ DCS Options ➡Special ➡ Supercarrier ➡ Untick FLOLS overlay. Done! Enjoy Brother 😉
@@GazAce Thank You Sir!
Loved watching you at work Gaz! I'm going to grab your mission and give it a go and might make a video of my using it for practice as well! I have a plan written up for a carrier landing demo and was going to use some standard layout somewhere but love the mission you made in the beautiful Marianas! Definitely the trick is to chop the throttles when you break the deck and can pop the air breaks as well a bit to help get below 250. I like to have the right DDI display the HSI as you have and watch for that distance in the bottom right to show 1.2-1.3 to help me get the proper distance from the boat. I think you did a solid job landing and as always.. amazing narration and feel to your videos. Keep them coming! Any new missions under way for the Hornet?
Very kind of you Str][kerTV Brother & very much appreciated man & to me sounds like your plan is a excellent one. I do have a mission I was working on but got sidetracked in revisiting my very first 4 year old mission in the User Files ( Operation Smokin' Rotor) which badly needed updating & revising. Once I finish that very soon, I'll get back to my other project. I'll look out for your vid & your very welcome to use any of my missions in your vids brother. Thanks again, GA out 🙏🙂👍 UPDATE: I decided to pull that first mission from User Files Smokin' Rotor as it was embarrassingly bad lol. I actually did start fixing & updating it but that soon morphed into a completely different story so I'm going to post this one very soon. It's a going to be in the Caucasus because that's where the original mission was. I think you'll like it as it will have a little bit of everything. Will post a preview or a flythrough here soon. Cheers GA 🙂👍
Love that you’ve populated the boat. Will use this. Thank you!
Thanks Brother STILLBIGWILL! Much appreciated 🙏🙂
Wow thank you so much for the tip, ever wonder how to enter these 8 digits in my A10C for example… I wish there was a way to configure JTAC coordinates type per mission.
Welcome man 👌
Nice video, perfect demonstration of the Ka-50 unleashed power ! And what a beast looking chopper too !
Thanks GuitarooMan93 brother! 🙏😊
Excellent content as always, since I primarily fly the Hornet, I appreciate this to increase my knowledge base.
Thanks Barry brother, much appreciated. 🙏🙂
