- I have never gone over to explore Fort Warren as it sits on an Island in Boston Harbor. Today it seemed like the perfect day to go check it out.
So come see this historic fort with me from 1850 and enjoy some of the views.

Fort Warren is a historic fort on the 28-acres of Georges Island at the entrance to Boston Harbor.
The fort is named for Revolutionary War hero Dr. Joseph Warren, who sent Paul Revere on his famous ride, and was later killed at the Battle of Bunker Hill. The name was transferred in 1833 from the first Fort Warren - built in 1808 - which was renamed Fort Winthrop.
Fort Warren is a pentagonal bastion fort, made with stone and granite, and was constructed from 1833-1861, completed shortly after the beginning of the American Civil War.
Fort Warren defended the harbor in Boston, Massachusetts, from 1861 through the end of World War II, and during the Civil War served as a prison for Confederate officers and government officials. The fort remained active through the Spanish-American War and World War I, and was re-activated during World War II. It was permanently decommissioned in 1947.

Architecture that's stood the test of time. Absolutely amazing! So much dust flying past the camera in that one room so dark. They say if walls could talk, I'm sure these wall would tell many stories. Fantastic explore Marlo 😊🍅🌱

Never grew tired of the granite in the northeast and loved the Nor'easters. Nice camera work and editing. Those poor guys firing those cannons all blew their ear drums out back then. Awesome video and the harbor views sure make me miss the ocean.

Hi Marlo, one of your finest videos, keep them coming, no pressure :-) One question: Where were you at mark 5:15? What is all that stuff in the air that you are breathing? Please use a disposable surgical mask because inhaling dust and mold spores is not healthy. I want you to live to see your 25th birthday so you can continue to entertain and educate me with your vids!

Yes. The boat docks at the fort.
I knew something was different in this vid and then it hit me. No graffiti.. lol
