I have the same issue as Bobby with the texting. It’s like an anxiety. I feel like I’m gonna get sucked into a worm hole with that person. Like they’re trapping me into a long conversation about something else.

Somehow it just takes massively more psychological energy to communicate with somebody who isn't physically there. In reality texting back is as easy as hitting a few buttons in 5 seconds, but I feel like I need to get a drink and find a quiet place to sit in for a while before I can pull out my phone and read what was said and correctly respond to it. Texts and phone calls feel like taking a test in a way that talking to people in person doesn't.
Yeah I thought I was the only one. Like at the time I can’t answer the question or whatever appropriately, so I wait till I’m in a relaxed place to do so. I don’t like the idea of someone just being able to summon me and get whatever they want out of me, my response is rushed and probably not as accurate anyway

I'm the same way about texting. I think the reason is because it never ends with just one text. You'll be stuck texting someone for 2 hrs about nothing if you respond right away so its easier to respond 6 hrs later so they are less likely to text you back.
My weed dealer is like that. It has cost him dozens of sales.

Bobby's life, i feel, is shaped in large part by how he deals with his anxiety. Texting is a different form of communication, and it does not allow Bobby to handle his anxiety with others with his expressive goofy personality.
I’m the same way, I just don’t text right away. Usually I’m in the middle of something and then I just forget about it.
