i saw him playing in Bournemouth and for a warm up the wicket keeper threw a glove on the ground , on or about a length , and the bowlers were aiming at it, Mr Marshall was the only one who hit it , 3 times in a row , i have seen a lot of bowling but that one , too this day , impressed me the most He was such a nice guy as well , such a great loss to the world and not just the cricketing world
As a bunch of kids during the late 80s and early 90s in England, during those days in our 'summer', everyone who bowled in our group of children tried to copy his action and bowl like Marshall. So rhythmical, fast and aggressive. He was the king and still is.
Marshall was all time great fast bowler, cricket has ever seen. He used to run like a deer on the field and it used to be a pleasure to watch him in action. My tributes to this fastest bowler. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Marshall incomparable. Even today he is remembered by the entire world for his contributions. WI was lucky to have him but not too long.. One has to be born to bowl like Marshall..but not yet.. Such a wonderful guy always smiling.... I salute him.
Saw him play for Banks, Barbados and WI. I'm not saying this because he's my compatriot but he is the greatest ever fast bowler in my view. Could do everything with a cricket ball in his hand like no other. Maco the great we call him in Barbados.
Sir Malcolm Marshall Highly Effective,Most Consistent Fast Bowler☆Tremendous Cut-Variations☆Has Performed Brillantly All Over....Without Hesitation He Is My First Choice....
I saw him bowling against pakistan in a test match in 1990 in karachi. I loved the way he sprinted to deliver the ball. He was extremely quick. In that match Salim Malik hit him for 2 consecutive boundaries , marshal really rocketed him with extremely quick bowling after getting hit , finally he got Malik caught in the slip. A revenge full bowler , so competitive.
Took 12 test matches before he got going... average 31.88 only 34 wickets .. next 69 tests, 342 wickets, average 19.85. absolute peak of his career before trailing off...264 wickets, average 16.78!!!! 🐐 bowler, not just fast bowling
Even when he "trailed off" he was still unbelievable. In the 91 series against australia he was the best bowler for west indies and was getting a lot of top australian batsman out.
If Malcolm Marshall isn't in your All-Time XI in the history of cricket, I question your knowledge of the game. In my opinion, the greatest fast bowler ever, and if you were choosing 4 bowlers for any all time XI, he would be my first choice. Add Michael Holding, Wasim Akram and Shane Warne and I think it would be hard to argue that bowling attack wouldn't take wickets anywhere, at any time, on any pitch.
I agree with everything u say. However i wud have Lillie instead of holding. As for marshall, still the greatest fast bowler ive ever seen. R I P macko. Legend.
@@colingeddes2172 Fair, personally I think Holding was better on flat wickets because of his pure pace than Lillee was, although I'm not suggesting Lillee wasn't quick. But Michael Holding is one of, if not the fastest bowlers ever, and could take wickets through sheer pace rather than movement.
Malcolm Marshall could swing and cut the ball at pace and he had a great cricket brain. He always bowled as the conditions required and with a great understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the batsman he was bowling to. His bouncer was skiddy and, as he bowled with a fast arm and plenty of variation in using the width of the crease, very hard to pick, play or duck. He is certainly one of the greatest I saw bowl at county and test level in England. Only Richard Hadlee of his near contemporaries ranks higher in my estimation.
Insightful comment! However, I disagree with the the final point; Marshall had to share the oppositions' wickets with world class bowlers such as Garner, Holding, Roberts and eventually Walsh and yet Marshall's career stats compare with the greatest bowlers the game has witnessed. Conversely, Hadlee was the only bowler of merit in the NZ team during his playing days so his stats are somewhat skewed. Not that this lessens Hadlee's achievements in any way; his career stats bear testimony to his incredible talent and compare favourably to all of the great fast bowlers of the game..
@@tangibleemotions7 You make some good points, I think. I agree there was no respite for batsman when Marshall was one of that great 80's WIndies quartet and that he had to compete with them for his wickets. But Hadlee, who received much less support from the other members of the NZ bowling attack, had to earn his wickets on his own. They created no pressure on which he could capitalise and batsmen knew that they could afford to try and wait out a Hadlee spell and cash in on the other bowling. Ultimately, we are talking about two of the game's greats and i agree comparisons are invidious. I saw both Hadlee and Marshall bowl in person many times. They were great, thinking, bowlers. There was always something about to happen. You didn't want to miss a ball bowled by them. Great competitors both!
Effective ? He was devastating to say the least. To be considered the greatest amongst the all-time great West Indies pace bowlers in itself proves he was arguably the greatest bowler to play the game.
Such a smooth action. Still can't believe how India won against such a powerful pack in1 983 world. May be west indies were caught by complacency and over confidence. Top it all India gave their heart out together since they did not have anything to lose.
Malcolm Marshal used to eat buffalo tongue 👅 but one Bombay Purchaer told me when I was working in Muscat so Malcolm Marshal died of..is he alive forgot my comments

The best fast bowler of all time. Great!!❤❤❤. But a very humble man
My uncle who saw Malcom Marshall bowl told me that Malcolm Marshall was the greatest bowler ever because he was master tactician.
Malcolm, we will never forget you.
RIP 🙏🙏Marshall
I agree with Mr Naushad Ali Khan Malcom Marshall was the greatest of them all very intelligent we miss him

What a great bowler of the world

If there ever was a cricket team that was both dreaded and loved at the same time, it was the West Indies
❤ Malcom Marshall 🏏👍👏
Sir Malcolm Marshall Highly Effective,Most Consistent Fast Bowler☆Tremendous Cut-Variations☆Has Performed Brillantly All Over....Without Hesitation He Is My First Choice....
His bowling action was amazing
I copied his Action
What a GREAT BOWLER. MALCOM MARSHALL RIP 😢😢😢
Was fortunate enough to watch him play his debut test in Bangalore during 1978 test series
Putting the fear of god in batsmen - West Indian fast bowlers did it better than anyone else.
Very simple reaction on getting wicket. Simple smile. Great bowlers.

He was great dangerous bowler in cricket history.legned.
Marshall was an absolute package of speed and command on the ground. He was a fear for the batsman.
The greatest bowler of all time, Maco
I never seen like a best bowler.i ❤ from India; I miss u lot😢
My absolute favourite
Those who can bowl in India and consistently wicket. Marshall was the greatest bowler who was very successful in Indian pitches.
I saw him bowling against pakistan in a test match in 1990 in karachi. I loved the way he sprinted to deliver the ball. He was extremely quick. Best fast bowler I've ever seen
The most feared fast bowler ever in the history of world cricket. His bowl skidded as he was bowling on wet cement pitch.
He is the best bowler I have seen
Not tall for a fast bowler, but ended as a GIANT of the art.

Perfect fast bowler. 👌
Legend!
Marshall was more intimidating than Viv Richards during their tour to India during one of that unforgettable series.
The greatest of them all

L Siva of India became his good friend when I ndia visited W Indies in 80s
Malcolm, could have made it as an opening batman for the WI. he was that a cricketer..
Martin Crowe... top 10 batsmen ever to play the sport. Malcolm Marshall...top 10 bowlers ever to play the sport.
Grate man good baller blesssing your family
Wow, 11 5fors in his 1st 14 tests...That's remarkable..
Great bowler
Malcolm Marshal had came to india in1979 but at that time he was not successful he later on became very effective
Effective ? He was devastating to say the least. To be considered the greatest amongst the all-time great West Indies pace bowlers in itself proves he was arguably the greatest bowler to play the game.
Greatest bowling attack of Cricket history - Roberts, Holding, Croft, Garner, Marshall.
Most dangerous - Marshall.
Tangible Emotions, what went wrong with MALCOLM MARSHALL that he didn't play for WEST INDIES after wc 1992, please let me know.
Reached the end of his career, plain and simple. Don't all good things come to an end eventually?
Such a smooth action. Still can't believe how India won against such a powerful pack in1
983 world. May be west indies were caught by complacency and over confidence. Top it all India gave their heart out together since they did not have anything to lose.
It would have been great to see prime Marshall bowl in tandem with prime Ambrose
Different Class, could take wickets in all conditions. Lethal bouncer given his lack of height.
@davidgillan9509
Maybe his bouncer was so lethal because of his lack of height.
🐐
No other bowler can replace him
विकेट निकालने में माहिर थे गजब का खिलाड़ी था।
मार्शल की हाइट ५ फिट ११ इंच थी ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
तेजतर्रार
महान गेंदबाज
You can bowl better than Malcolm Marshall and Andy Roberts but you can't bowl like Pragyan Ojha.
Malcolm Marshal used to eat buffalo tongue 👅 but one Bombay Purchaer told me when I was working in Muscat so Malcolm Marshal died of..is he alive forgot my comments
Greatest fast bowler after Steyn
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Steyn who ??????????????????????????????????????????
My most favourite fast bowlers are imrankhan, wasim akram
Andy Roberts was best than Malcom Marshall
Averages and strike rates would very strongly suggest otherwise 😁
He is the best of best in fast bowling.
