    Hi Tony, once again Saturday morning’s breakfast is complete ☕️🍳 As ever the devil is in the detail and it’s really looking great. I would have thought that some channeling inside the scuttles to hide the wiring would have been an option for Armortek to include, but that’s easy for an outsider to suggest without having the model in front of them! On the detailing front a massive handlebar moustache for your RAF crewman would be most appropriate! Biggles and Algy (Cold War versions of course, perhaps Jimmy Edwards?) would be brilliant. Nonetheless keep up the incredible work as its riveting morning TV! 👍🏼🇬🇧

    hi tony, landy is looking good, i like the driver sitting next to you. i probably would have bent the angle piece a little more that the floor bolts to, probably over bent it so that the gap closed up that you welded. certainly looks to be tricky for the wiring, very little room, how much space is under the bonnet. i don't know why the spare tyre bay has open sides, surely this will allow dirt and water in side the model. look forardw to the next vid. cheers

      @tonys_workshop  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Trevor...he was hard to find...then another popped up in an online Charity shop of all places, so he now has a twin brother....he may be put in the back as a radio operator...still thinking on that. now that it is welded and primed, it seems to work well. The open tyre bay is a little daft, so I may come up with a thin plastic piece to resolve that. Space is a premium under the bonnet, especially having to try and fit a speaker in there as well. Thanks for your support mate and have a great weekend.

    Nice work again, Tony. Great work on the shrink wrap to hide the wires better.

    Hi Tony an interesting video! I noticed that your seat bench has a hatch in it in which you put the battery underneath. However on mine ( kit 24) there is no hatch and as far as I can see you have to slide the battery in the other side of the seat to the gas tank! I must ask Kian about it but am not sure I want to dismantle the floor etc!,
    Regards Bob in Alberta

      @tonys_workshop  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Bob. If that is the case, I wonder if AT adapted this for the second batch release which mine is one of. So, in your kit, the battery has to be removed for charging from underneath the seat? Thanks for watching and commenting Bob, I would be interested to see how you get on with that. Are you going to put any of your build on your YT channel? best regards from the UK.

    Hi Tony. Regarding the seats, you might consider putting hinges on the forward edge so you could just tilt them up to access the cover for the battery. I'm not sure looking at it on video if that would give you enough room. Maybe even use some Velcro patches., just a thought. I'm enjoying this build quite a bit. Have a great weekend! Cheers!

    • @tonys_workshop
      @tonys_workshop  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Michael, I think velcro will be the best way, as there is no room once the gear stick is in place to tilt and access the battery flap. Thanks for your supportive comments, they mean a great deal to me. Have a great weekend.

    The shrink wrap with a coat of RAF blue will disguise the cabling brilliantly Tony, good call, I think. I don't know what may be provided, if anything, as a boot for the gearstick. I thought maybe a piece of shrink wrap may suffice.👍👍 Cheers Mate

    • @tonys_workshop
      @tonys_workshop  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Christopher. they provide an aluminium boot....but if I paint this matt black I think it works as the gear stick is static. Have a great weekend mate.

    I can just imagen the purists screaming at the screen that there is no weld on the floor, they are all screwed in place. lol but it makes it yours and not the same as all the other type ones out there.

    • @tonys_workshop
      @tonys_workshop  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      😂 Thanks Stuart...my thoughts exactly. This is a special edition RAF version and the RAF would have their ones welded🤣 have a great reat of the weekend and thank you for watching and supporting my channel.

    I have a 1:1 80". We call the "flat bed" assembly the tub and what you're calling the subfloor is the seatbox, tunnel and floor panels. The seatbox has three removable panels in it: driver's side is for access to the fuel tank filler (you have to lift up the seat squab to refuel), middle panel lets you get to the gearbox and the passenger side has a tool box beneath it. I think it would be quite easy to fab up some fake panels for the top of your seat box and still have access to your battery. I like the look of this kit but I've not got enough time to keep the real one in fettle.

      Hi Ty and thanks for watching and commenting. I am well jealous...how long have you had your Series 1? ?I will work out the best way to access the battery, Thanks for your help with some of the series 1 terminology. have a great weekend.
