    Of all of the mocks I've seen, this is by far the most chilling. The fact that it uses the fun CBeebies text to tell of an actual tragedy, the way they try to sugarcoat it, and the fact they show footage from an actual movie to tell kids of the scene that will unfold before the explosions, all wrapped up with the end card, just... it'll be hard to top this level of bone-chilling sensation.

    I’ve always wondered what the protocol for both CBBC and CBeebies would be if we were hit with a nuclear strike in this country. This scenario is pretty chilling yet sad at the same time, since it’s basically telling very young kids that the inevitable is approaching and that they might even die, which is… quite dark for a children’s TV channel.
    Still, I’m impressed with this one, keep up the good work 👍

    • @kirinblirin8734
      @kirinblirin8734 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      My guess there would be a warning telling kids to get their grown up to the tv then advising whoever’s watching the children to distract them before switching to the emergency broadcast or a quick switch depending on the severity of the situation. But considering most people have mobiles I’d guess the former is more likely.

    • @thet00nedl00n
      @thet00nedl00n 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    God, I absolutely loved Cbeebies as a child and this shit is so fucking disturbing.
    With a normal EAS, you expect all the normal shit, like bombs are gonna drop, gather supplies, don't go outside, etc. With this you'd expect it to be more toned down, which it is, but the fact that it actually tells the audience (presumably the children) that they may possibly die is so heartbreaking and disturbing. The fact that the EAS tries to tell the children to calm down and not be scared by doing activities by coloring in a book or play a game they like while the inevitable approaches makes it much more freaky.
    This is one of the more unique EAS Scenarios I've seen and I love it. Great work.

    The quality of this video is so admirable! It achieves the perfect balance of having unsettling elements while still being authentic to the channel's branding. I think the film footage and the use of the end screen telling the viewers "see you tomorrow" really enhances the uncomfortable nature of it, especially since, due to personal experience, the end screen is already disturbing enough without the scenario created where this alert is the last thing that an innocent and unsuspecting child will see on TV, before their demise comes into fruition thus, they in fact WON'T be seeing them tomorrow or ever again.
    Long-winded points aside, props to the creator of this video for making something genuinely heartbreaking to Cbeebies viewers alike. Good job :)

    As unrealistic as it wod be for something like this to air for kids... this is by far one of the more uncanny and unsettling EAS creations about Nuclear War to be made imo. I guess it's to do with explaining to kids what will happen but not be blunt? Oddly unsettling

    When I was a kid, I was terrified of nuclear war. Even though it was the mid-2000s, a time when atomic bombs weren't seen as a realistic threat, unlike what seems to be the case nowadays, when I read encyclopedias and almanacs from the '60s and '90s, I'd end up reading about them.
    I'd read about this thing called the Cold War. About there being two Germanies instead of one. I'd see photos of angry looking American men standing next to their large missiles, and blurrier photos of angry looking Russian men standing next to their large missiles. I'd see maps with things like "Warsaw Pact" and "NATO" marked down, where I would normally have seen the EU. I saw photos of mushroom clouds and flattened cities in Japan. Terrified the life out of my young self. Now I'm in my mid-20s, and the thought of global thermonuclear annihilation still sends me into the occasional depressed state.

    0:45 literally is the most scariest thing ever, to make it more scary, I literally watched the video on the day Children In Need was happening, so when I first watched the video on that day, it made me extremely traumatised, before I could react, I literally turned the video off because the sirens came out of nowhere💀

    This is legitimately the most depressing thing I've ever seen. When something like that can happen, when someone has to try to explain to the poor children that the world they knew is gone, you have to wonder... what's the point of our existence?
