why not? you should see around the world...even when Bangor is like a small city if you compare with others it is a very peaceful, secure, beautiful place. I am from Caracas, Venezuela and I feel envy for your city. I wish to be in your place.
Trust me pal I live here and it ain’t as peaceful as it looks then again it has changed over the years and I’m replying to a 7 year old comment just realised🤣
Incredible that only 10 years on since this was filmed it's sad to see that Bangor high street has gone like a ghost town these days with many abandoned outlets gone economically unviable to trade, it's certainly not a shadow of what it once was.
@@datwolfe3512 It means the main shopping area is now out of town. It’s exactly like everywhere else in the country, except it’s surrounded by beautiful countryside and they are not. Does the university not provide information as to what is available? If it’s big gigs/nightlife you want, Chester/Liverpool’s about an hour way.
this is the place where i spent the best days of my life.. i Love bangor and bangor university.. Very soon i will definitely visit this town inshallah..
Its a shame now Bangor is a ghost town when a was little i loved going into town on a Friday or Saturday and going to the wellfeild and acme game shop and Woolworths so miss them days
Nice to see Bangor city center again after almost 30 years. Changed little bit. Few stores like Debanhams, BOOTS shifted towards clock tower. Want to be there again for a day and shop at my favorite stores. Don't know if life will permit me at this age of 75. Unfortunately, didn't see WOOLWORTH in the video. LOVE YOU BANGOR. LOVE FROM INDIA.
It's a city - it has a cathedral - wiki says "Bangor is a city in Gwynedd unitary authority, north west Wales, and one of the smallest cities in Britain" Thanks for watching.
I was in Bangor Wales for 2 weeks, quarantining after my trip to Serbia. These streets are so familiar to me as I was living in a studio down the road from that Barclays.
was here in 15/1/24 - Bangor High Street is so empty, its saddening to see, i popped in the shopping center, more shops, but not many, so was shut, this is a weekday before 5. The next government needs to do something to get people back to the high street and then make the high street attractive for investors, else towns everywhere are going to become ghost towns, with nothing but charity shops and pop up stores. Its similar, but not quite as bad, but going that way, down here in south west England.
It has been declining since before this video. It’s depressing to go into town now. You used to see people that you knew whereas now you’re lucky to see more than a handful of people. I think the days of the high street have been and gone. It’s the internet!
The business model of the 60s/70s/80s of the High Street has now gone. Once Thatcher relaxed the planning laws for out of town shopping units in the 80s, the expansion of the out of town shopping area affected Bangor just as it has done elsewhere. I noticed it here as soon as Tesco opened and the general public moved away from the High Street and into their cars and up to Caernarfon Rd. Then the advent of internet shopping was the final nail in the coffin.
I’m from the capital of Wales Cardiff, and of course we have a lot more going on there being a capital city. However, I must acknowledge that Banga looks very charming and peaceful, what a cute little town xxx

Really? That's sad.. I was planning to move there and study too at Bangor University 😔
Just like literally every other town/city in the UK. When you put shopping out of town, this happens. Plus of course the internet.
Does this mean the city is going downhill? I want to study at Bangor but not sure
