  • In this video, I show you the installation procedure of a new windscreen on a Ford Focus MK3. The process involves removing the wiper arms and scuttle panel, cutting out the old windscreen, and preparing the pinch weld for the new windscreen to be fitted.

    Nice tools; was looking for backyard mechanic way, but was still good. Need to do a 2014 Focus soon; want to use a used windscreen from the wrecking yard that they are letting me take for free; only it's been 25 years since I worked at a small auto-glass shop doin that.

    That was a really good video, thank you.
    As with the other commenter I have a windscreen leak and was using this video for reference,
    I'm pretty sure the bond has failed above driver side and water is coming in through the headliner in the centre.
    Would love a new windscreen as the centre heating elements aren't working either.

    Great video. Special tools are needed so, not economically viable as a one-off diy job.

      Erm no definitely not a one off thing to do hence why people train to be a automotive glazing technician 🤦🏼‍♂️🙄

      @@jamiemacdonald4950 I was a windscreen fitter in the mid 60s: toughened glass, held in with a rubber surround, fitted by pulling on string! 😀

    Really well done video and great to see what's involved!.... Watching as i have a leak....Any advice please? My 2016 focus might have a windscreen leak. Its on the passenger side . Ive traced it by pulling the trim on the car body off ( not trim on the door). The roof liner above the door where it meets the plastic trim on the door pillar is wet. The water is running down inside the plastic trim along the body door trim into the passenger footwell. I'd be very grateful for any suggestions as trying to avoid £500 + for a new windscreen.

      Hi, thanks for your comment. It's pretty hard to answer that without seeing it, I would recommend getting the leak diagnosed properly to find out exactly where the water ingress is coming from and take it from there. Apologies if that doesn't help.

      Did you get anywhere with this? I have a very similar problem, I am getting a leak through the roof liner where it meets the sunglasses compartment at the front,
      After seeing mentions of windscreen (thinking it was estate roof rail leak) I checked it out and the screen on driver side does lift a bit (you can hear it from inside).
      I've been out and bought some 'Granville Black Silicone Sealant' from Halfords, I'll be applying it across the top of the glass later tonight or tomorrow.

      @@raider32 weirdly it seems to have stopped, but if, more like when, it starts again I think the only option will be a new windscreen. All this technology in cars and Ford can't even build a 2016 car that doesn't let in water.

    Great job mate nice and clean. Did this windscreen have to have any calibration ? I’m looking at getting a second hand windscreen put on mine.

    • @AUTOGLAZ1ER
      @AUTOGLAZ1ER  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Andy, No camera on this one, just heated with moisture sensor. if yours is the same no calibration required, but there are a few variations of windscreen for different vehicle spec. most windscreens with A.D.A.S camera will need calibration after installation.
