The main benefit of the transmutation passive is the increased spell critical damage multiplier, the increase in spell power mostly kicks in during the run when you grab either agi or Str scaling with talent orbs

Another great video. Really enjoy your class guides. Even though I have limited experience I totally agree with you. Hydra was awesome in the beginning. But then starting to struggle so respecing to meteor. Works much better. However ”trans” is gonna be wizards high ng build no doubt about it.

Is there any advantage to taking the orb that makes the Hydra skill do ice dmg except for switching dmg type? Like, does it add slow or something?

so spell power gives 0.5% spell damage per power right? does the 10% spell damage from keen get mathed differently (like applied after multipliers from spell power)? because if not wouldn’t it always be better to take 60 spell power over 10% spell damage

Have you watched my "Mathing Damage" video? It doesn't address that specifically but shows examples on how you can calculate all that yourself.
10% spell damage from a trinket vs 60 spell power from a trinket, all depends on how much SP you have. If you have 1,000 SP and get a 10% spell power trinket, that's +100.
All modifiers, including keen, contribute to that grand SP total on your info sheet. Hover over your SP stat and you'll see that all factored in (including enchants).

How are you maintaining Mana supply with Focus almost entirely unspecced?
I keep having mana issues even on Evocation. Are you just stacking the Keen spell cost discount everywhere? I didn't see how many pieces of equipment you had that on.

My Sorcerer Title helps. I use Keen and the Vitality one mostly, but I typically don't go enchant crazy because materials are expensive.

Unrelated, but how good is the warrior's tyrant spec with a 2h x-bow? Do you just do it because it's fun? If you posted a run, I know I'd watch it.

Great video! I agree with everything you said. I prefer Evocation Wizard right now. Those meteors SLAM.
I've been trying to make a hybrid build work with Transmutation Wizard, but I haven't gotten it to work quite yet. Haste giving 50% Weapon speed is alot. Just not sure how to make it work in NG+.

Transmutation is viable at lower ng+ but it starts to really pop off around ng4-5.
