    He didn’t create the first university in the region, he built the first one in the world.
    His predecessor didn’t die, but rather traveled to the west.
    His net worth was not 400 billion, it was more like 700 billion. And there were multiple empires on the continent.
    Although some points are inaccurate Alux deserves credit for shedding light on one of the worlds greatest leaders that has been kept in the shadows for far too long. 👏🏽

    Number 3 is slightly inaccurate, Mansa Musa didn’t create the first state of the art University in the region. He created the first Modern University in the world, and students came to Timbuktu from around the globe.

    • @arberor4597
      @arberor4597 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      TheCommentBeatKiller
      "the first modern university in the world? "
      My god Afrocentrism is getting out of hand with their revisionist history
      The first university was established by the Arabs in Morocco in 859 where Fatima al-Fihri founded the University of Al Quaraouiyine.
      Mansa musa reign started in 1312. Meaning the University of Al Quaraouiyine is over 400 years older than the university of Timbuktu. Even European universities predate the university of Timbuktu
      •University of Bologna in Italy (1088), •University of Paris in France (1150)
      •University of Oxford in England (1167).
      •University of Cambridge in England (1209)
      And many more
      In addition to all that, the manuscripts of the university of Timbuktu are mostly in Arabic and not the native languages of west Africa.

    • @EPUEPUEPUEPU
      @EPUEPUEPUEPU 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Arberor
      What do you mean by the manuscript are written in Arabic? What does that imply?

    • @arberor4597
      @arberor4597 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @malenursenyc
      The natives and common languages of Mali were Bozo, Malinké, and Mandinka
      Arabic was never spoken in Mali let alone the use of Arabic scripture, yet most of the manuscript of the university of Timbuktu are written with Arabic scripture in the Arabic language, a language foreign to the people of Mali.
      According to some sites I came across There were hundreds of thousands of manuscripts and the "greatest" scholar was Ahmad Baba al Massufi who was a Berber from Morocco. He questioned the enslavement of black African in the Islamic/Arabic world and instead he advocated for the enslavement of Christians and Jews

    • @RizzoDaManiac
      @RizzoDaManiac 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Arberor Are you getting this information from the same sources that are planning to change history to say slaves were never forced to come to America but rather just low paid workers?

    • @arberor4597
      @arberor4597 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @TheCommentBeatKiller
      I dunno know what you are talking about
      By forced you be bought? A slave trade market existed in Africa long before the Atlantic slave trade.
      Black Africans captured other black Africans and sold them to the Arabs and Europeans.
      jamaica-gleaner.com/article/focus/20151025/africas-role-slavery
      When the Europeans outlawed slavery in Africa, African chiefs who became rich and powerful off the slave trade sent protest delegations to Paris and London.
      In fact to this very day black African are enslaved in Libya
      www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-africa-42492687
      Arabs and Muslim nations who slave trade lasted for over 1300 years only came to an end thanks to the Europeans powers. Slavery in the Arab world was acceptable for thousands of years.
      m.th-cam.com/video/Ov9GFPmoOPg/w-d-xo.html
      Africans openly took part in this as the Black Bantus were captured by the black Somali slave traders and were sold in large numbers over the centuries. Europeans never sold each other to the Arabs, the Europeans slaves in the Arab world were a result of Islamic raids on European coastal cities.

      Explain to me why schools in the USA should teach about empire of Mali ?
      History consist of numerous events which are far crucial and impactful in human history than the empire of Mali.
      The Greek empire, the Roman Empire, the British empire, the Qing dynasty, the Islamic Caliphate, the Egyptian empire, the Spanish empire, the Byzantine empire etc
      These empires are empires which shaped our world and without these empire the world would look entirely different
      Empire like the Mali empire are on the same level as the
      Bulgarian empire, Serbian empire, or the Georgian Empire
      I'm certain the USA hasn't taught you about the Bulgarian empire.

    The Mali Empire was the 3rd largest empire in West Africa from c. 1230 to 1670. The empire was founded by Sundiata Keita and became renowned for the wealth of its rulers, especially Musa Keita. Tiimbuktu is second, with Songhai Empire in 1st.
    The most powerful of these states was the Songhai Empire, which expanded rapidly beginning with king Sonni Ali in the 1460s. By 1500, it had risen to stretch from Cameroon to the Maghreb, the largest state in African history.

    While in Cairo , his wife was missing the Niger river (original name Jolliba) so he had the Egyptian architects build her a 6 milles replica of the river for her to enjoy for the rest of their stay in Egypt .
    His armee could be 300000 cavaliers and infantries excluded the reserve , which is too much for an African empire of that time . Coming back from mecca the dept cell he bring back with him help bankrupt the empire unable him to control it borders , the kingdoms under his control start rebellions for independence .
    Unfortunately by lack of finances, unable to oppress the rebellions many of the rebels kingdoms get their freedom shortly after his death .
    Which of course help shape other kingdoms such as the songhay province into coming to be one of Africa's greatest empire .

    This is why Spain went to America after the mansa story. Remember Muslim ran Spain for 700 years. The Muslim lost Spain in 1492. I think you know the rest of the story. Thank encyclopedia of African and African American history thank you. Read my brother and sister read. Don’t listen to there version because they always compare Rome to something it wasn’t. Egypt was the model for Rome!

      Do black people have the ability to demonstrate any level of critical thinking?
      When the Roman Empire rose as a significant power ancient Egypt was no longer the centre of knowledge in the Mediterranean as Greek culture dominated the eastern Mediterranean.
      Rome something it's not?
      The Romans founded hundreds of major cities across 3 continents including cities like Rome, London, Paris, Vienna, Barcelona etc.
      Rome became the first city in human history to reach a population of 1 million
      www.loveexploring.com/galleries/amp/70876/roman-ruins-roman-sites-around-world
      Spectacular 2000 year old Roman monuments/ruins are found in three continents in over 30 counties.
      Over 80,000 kilometers of paved road was built all over the Roman Empire as well as the administrating an empire that lasted for over 1400 years (which is longer than the existence of Islam itself), when the ottoman did finally conquer the eastern Roman Empire they declared themselves to be "the third rome"
      Italy alone has more cultural UNESCO sites than all of sub Saharan Africa combined.
      •The colosseum in Rome was built 2000 years ago, The colosseum is 157 feet tall, the colosseum has the capacity to hold 80,000 spectators (that is more than most stadiums built today). Today it still stands
      cdn2.veltra.com/ptr/20170622122018_1809886374_10701_0.jpg?imwidth=550&impolicy=custom
      •The eastern Roman Empire demonstrates its architectural achievements through many standing monument
      the Hagia Sofia was built in the year 537 AD in Constantinople. The Hagia Sofia is 180 feet tall earthquake proof cathedral. And remained the largest church for almost 1000 years until the Seville Cathedral was constructed by the Spanish
      docplayer.es/docs-images/65/53048910/images/15-0.jpg
      To get perceptive on things this is the Mecca of west Africa and is considered a architectural achievement built in the 1300s
      www.thevintagenews.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/It-is-believed-it-was-originally-founded-in-1421-17th-century-according-to-some.-Photo-Credit-640x453.jpg
      Is this really comparable to eastern Roman architecture such as the Hagia Sofia and the pantheon in Constantinople and Rome built over 1500 years ago
      The Muslims within the Islamic caliphate invaded the eastern Roman Empire but technological superiority destroyed the entire Islamic fleet and outlasted the Islamic caliphate

      I take that as an insult about my people not thinking or thinkers. Besides whites claiming Rome which is odd because you people are from Central Asia. I still don’t catch the link or connection. My people thinking and building pre dated any white culture matter of fact whites stole their thinking from other cultures.

      @Charles Walters
      Once again you are only demonstrating your own stupidly. My responses at this point not directed to you but to the potential Asians, whites, or Indians readers who have some level of Critical thinking cause you clearly don't
      Whites claiming Rome?
      To begin The ethnic term for Greek has continuously existed from the Ancient Greek era , through the Byzantine Greek era up until today in modern day Greece.
      The Greeks did NOT suddenly look up on the Internet and find out about ancient Greeks and start wearing ancient Greek attire. That's what black people do, you black people suffer from a identity crisis so you look up online for a ancient civilization and claim it as yours. Greeks identityand language and culture has been passed down generation after generation for over 2800 years. This isn't the case for black people
      Blacks are great at claiming greatness but terrible at replicating it lol
      As for Rome
      The official languages of France, Spain, Portugal, Romania and Italy are all part of the Romance language family.
      Their language are the daughter languages of Vulgar Latin which was the official language of the Roman Empire. The capital of France was founded by Roman Colonist and Rome was founded by Roman colonist the same way New York and Washington was founded by European colonist
      The Italians later then reclaimed their glory during the Italian Renaissance.
      You then said
      "Your people came from Central Asia?"
      Im sure you are referencing the indo-European migration.
      To begin the indo-European migration predates the Roman and Greeks, not to mention that the languages the Ancient Greek Hittites and Romans spoke was a indo-European languages just like the English Germans Russian Serbians etc
      In contrast to your people, In sub Saharan Africa there are approx 888 million inhabitants
      From the 888 million inhabitants 700 million speak a Niger Congo language while the ancient Egyptians spoke a Afroasiatic language which is a entirely different language

      @Liban Abdirashid Roble 10B Tranbjergskolen
      So much falsies and assumption being made in such a short response.
      To begin I’m from the balkans, I ain’t Spanish. The Byzantine empire existed as a robust economy within the Mediterranean and WAS NEVER conquered by the Arabs, berbers or the Umayyad or Abbasid caliphate. The Arabs main goal was to conquer Constantinople (the capital of the Byzantine empire) but failed and lost hundreds of thousands of men.
      So no you (who is without a doubt a sub Saharan African) “didn’t take any women” ironically it’s the millions of black sub Saharan who were sold and sent as sex slaves and slave labour to the Middle East
      then later to the America’s for over 1000 years. In fact to this very day Nigerians are being sold in slavery in North Africa
      www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-africa-42492687
      During the rise of the Umayyad caliphate which was a Arabic dynasty which was notorious for having black slaves. Treatment of black people was terrible and this is evident in the Zanj rebellion.
      The funny thing is that Muslim is a Arabic religion which was founded by a Arab who owned black slaves
      The moors were not black, they were berbers and Arabs who came from North Africa, they still exist today and you can see them for your self in Morocco.
      The Spaniards expelled all berbers and Arabs back to Morocco, and if blacks really did take the Spaniard as sex slaves then they will have some sub Saharan African dna but they mostly European with some middle eastern dna
      tracingafricanroots.files.wordpress.com/2017/08/eu-stats-pt24.png
      m.th-cam.com/video/GwVmnKS2Djc/w-d-xo.html
      This is a Spanish girl from south Spain who took a DNA test and found out she is 97% Europeans with 1-2 % Middle eastern and North African. None for sub Saharan African so no you didn’t take anyone’s women
      but when afro-latinos take a DNA test they find a large percentage of European dna
      m.th-cam.com/video/xsmy3kYNDpI/w-d-xo.html
      Same goes for African Americans.
      Italy was not ruled by the Muslims only Sicily was Italy was never conquered by non Europeans, Rome was founded by Europeans and was never conquered by none Europeans :). Meanwhile Europe conquered all of Africa in less than 3 decades lol
