    I come from a family of 3 boys & between us & my father who leases or buys a new truck every three years we have owned a ton of trucks over the last 40 years. When my father retired we laughed at him when he traded in his Chevy dually for the first gen goofy looking ridgeline "truck". We couldn't have been more wrong. For everyday life in the mountains of Canada I have never driven a better vehicle for driving on snowy roads at speed & do just about everything except for heavy towing. Unless your a landscaper, rock crawler or need to pull a large fifth wheeler its almost perfect.

      From what I’ve read the 3 inch includes decent linkage change and 1 inch subdrop. So I’m sure geometry isn't perfect, but not too bad. Think it looks killer 🔥

      Ive never understood on their supposed "off road" (Trailsport or even HPD). How would this lift effect warranty though??? And whats the dealership going to say(unless they did it) if say you come back with suspension or anything that even could remotely have caused a warranty issue..will they say ok and cover it or want to say..sorry its lifted thats what causes that to fail(name any part that had geometry thrown off from a lift). How hard is it to also align the tires on that. does any of the safety stuff need recalibrated?
      Love the look have tons of questions about the lift and warranty and mechanical stuf.

    So I got a ridgeline about 3 months ago and I will say that even though I absolutely love this truck, I still have to complain about the little stuff. The touchscreen is unresponsive little less than commonly and the accessibility in the android version is pretty half baked.. (you see in the video the blank pages on the home screen he was scrolling through).This model DOES NOT have wireless Apple CarPlay, you would have to plug into the truck below the air cabin control next to the power AUX plug, mild inconvenience sure, but my other half’s 2022 Blazer has this wireless option and it’s spoiled me.. Finally the S part of the D/S on the gear selector does not mean Sport… it means Standard, as in, you will be changing gears with the paddle shifters. It does not offer any more traction or steering control.
    Other than that, I love the space and gas mileage. Towing capacity of 2.5 tons is very useful for a midsized truck of the caliber. 9/10 🎉

  • @bdrbound
    @bdrbound 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Why is this listed as a lift review and you just go over the entire truck, you’ve already done that video- focus on the lift. What brand is the lift? $3000 lol 😂 “stealership” Traxda Ridgeline lifts are $400 and $600 installed and aligned at 4 wheel parts, this is a $2000 grab by the dealership, toyota does the same thing when they offer aftermarket lifted Tacoma’s on the lot. Do not do this you are getting ripped off. Also, why on earth would you pay $2500 for an 18” set of wheels and tires? Ridgelines all come standard with 18’s, and if you want 265/60/18 tires you can buy a set of BFG KO2’s at Costco for $800 installed. If you’re going to upgrade your wheels get 17’s with more meat. Anyone who spends $5K for this setup literally just threw $3000 out the window. This review doesn’t focus just on the lift, either needs to be renamed or trimmed down to 3 minutes.

      One thing to note, most review channels are only reviewing the "off-road" packages for trucks these days. So looking at a normal model, let's say the 2021 Chevy Silverado RST 4x4 (or any non "trail boss" trim), ground clearance is listed as 8.09 inches on Chevy's own website. Funny how that is basically the same as Honda's 7.9" clearance. How about the Colorado (any non ZR2 trim), 8.2". So, everyone likes to pick on the Honda's clearance, but the reality is that unless you get an off-road specific trim (and no the Z71 package does not add clearance), the Honda is right in line with the majority of trucks sold, or at least the 1/4 inch isn't going to make a difference.
      Let's talk stock angles (approach/breakover/departure): Honda: 20.1/19.6/22.1; Chevy: 19.0/19.4/23.9. Funny, those are almost identical. So, yeah, if you get a Trail Boss or ZR2 (10 inches of stock clearance and I am not certain the angles) it will have better clearance, but the majority of trucks sold are NOT off-road packages.

    • @ericrichards5316
      @ericrichards5316 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No rear locker or low range. Think Subaru AWD, in truck form. It has a traction management system with Normal/Mud/Sand/Snow.
      Basically the system adjusts throttle response and transmission shift points per mode that your in.
      Ridgelines do great off-road, so long as you don't treat them like a 4Runner or Jeep. I wouldn't go for the 265 width on the tires though. Stay at 245 per manufacturer specs and that should keep the transmission happy 👍

    I just can't do it I love the way this looks and for someone who like how trucks look and will prob never off road it it fits the bill EXCEPT for the fact that Honda will just not for the love of me give up that damn timing belt in that engine its nonsense and for anyone complaining that timing chains have problems also tell that to my Honda fit that I sold with 230k miles that ran like it's new. I sold it to my friends kid who says it's running like a champ honestly Honda you have plenty of timing chain engines in your fleet I will not consider this car/truck until you go that route.

    No. The transmission has overheating issues. Larger tires will just make it worse. The Honda is a great idea. It will fit probably 90% of people's truck needs. They have priced themselves out of the market though. It's a shame we can't get the little car based trucks in the states. All the big manufacturers make one, and you can buy them new for around 10k usd in Mexico.
