You made the home slightly more livable for a man who doesn't want to leave. You made it easier for paramedics, inspectors, and social workers to get in and do their jobs. You made it slightly more bearable for that boy whose still stuck in that situation. Thats not a "fail" at all. You did your part.

To be honest, it's kind of refreshing to see Auri express frustration over these messes. She is always so positive and bubbly, even in disgusting scenarios, and I love that about her. I know that I would be frustrated if I were doing what she does, and I commend her for that. Even though she's frustrated, she never expresses the frustration towards the people living there, but to the broken appliances and amenities. I really respect her.

She's not the world's preeminent cleaner--there are others far better qualified---though she's good at it. But yes, if someone who cleans for a living says a house or apartment should be condemned, then it's time to contact the housing authorities and let them know what's going on. I don't understand why she even got so far into the cleaning without calling the authorities---that should never have happened!

    • @michaelamagdalena6933
      @michaelamagdalena6933 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +48

@@jb6712 I like to watch her videos, but yes, she shouldn't have touched this house and contacted authorities instead. If it's rotten from all the water, it's also moldy, which is very unhealthy, if floors are about to break under you, this house is dangerous to live in. Nobody, and especially not a child (and no pet, like the dog, that also seemed to be chained outside, and if this wasn't just for the cleaning, that's animal abuse) should live there.

This is what I was going to comment. How are people not concerned about the literal child. I have seen so many comments worried about the dog. While I agree even a dog shouldn't be living in this condition, the human child with another parent?! Wtf... I try not to judge when a whole family is living in a mental illness home, but the mother apparently has at least a home with functioning appliances. Why is she allowing her child to go there??? Even if my kids were worried about the other parent and wanted to stay there to take care of them, it is my responsibility to keep them safe and healthy. This is so sad.

I had a hidden mold issue in an apartment I rented; within one week of moving in, I was hospitalised because I was getting headaches, losing consciousness and after I got out of the hospital, the neighbour in the apartment beside mine told me that there was mold in her unit too. She had someone from the Canadian government come in to test the air quality and they uncovered so many problems. I moved out the next month and tried to sue the company who owned the building. The law society of upper Canada went on strike and I didn't pursue it, though I really wanted to see it through. I had 2 notes from Doctors stating that my unit was unfit to live in due to mold but the company who owned the building said that I abandoned the property and charged me 3 months rent. I was going to wait for my day in court but my Father paid the 3 months rent; I was livid with him for doing that.

This is actually crazy to me. So I apparently had the wax seal under my toilet go bad, meaning the toilet was dripping down to the floor beneath. So I got the leak repaired and cut open the ceiling below thinking I could do the repair myself. Nope, mold. I don't know how long the leak went for, but the damage was pretty clear. This was in a less than 4x4 area. I called my insurance company and we've begun the process of water mitigation and mold mitigation and they've had to cut out waaaay more drywall than I thought in 2 rooms! From a tiny leak in one small place. And I'm looking at the stream behind the sink in your video and the toilet and everything leaking and literally there is no chance that anything in the house is not water logged and molded. So sad but the damage is so pervasive when it comes to water. I do hope the brother and the ex-wife recognize this is not liveable. He needs a place to rent at the moment while they decide on the most reasonable financial decision regarding demolishing this property. Unfortunately, it's apparent they just don't know how to clean or take care of themselves. What about their own bodies? Those things are not automatic. And it's not like you can force that on anyone. It will be a struggle but, I just hope the 17yr old reaches a point where he experiences the health and happiness that comes from being clean. @@graceg3250 eh, no need to buy a house. in finland, landlords aren't legally allowed to pry into inhabitants' lives beyond basics like social security number and credit rating (which works differently than, say, in the US). bigger housing companies in particular don't give a shit. if you skip the apartment showing and sign your lease digitally, you don't even have to show your face to anyone. how would they know there could be a problem unless googling their names turns something nasty up? and in any case we have v low homeless rates here due to a housing first system. these people had other options, but for whatever reason they chose to stay. in fact i don't think it's necessarily about money at all, cos what broke family would buy a brand new expensive appliance, find that it doesn't work, and then just leave it there instead of getting their preciously needed money back? if they can afford to do that, they can certainly afford to fix the leaking tap. but they didn't. aside from the son (who iirc was the one who asked for the cleaning?), i suspect these people are so deep in denial that they don't even process any of this as abnormal

If there is a St Vincent de Paul or some other church group in the area they might be able to find them some used appliances. Or maybe a men’s organization like the Moose Lodge could help. I moved into a little place once that had no stove. I mentioned it to a friend and he told his buddies in the local Moose Lodge about it. A few days later a couple of fellas were at my front door with a good used stove, at least a hundred dollars in groceries and a huge Turkey. (It was close to Christmas.) I will never forget it. But I'm assuming the "put some plywood over the rotting floor" is exactly is what's going to happen. It's gotten so normal that the structural damage doesn't even register. This free cleaning challenged Auri like no other and yet, she does not change. In a world where too many are far too quick to judge people and situations they know nothing of, I am thankful people like Auri live among us.
Auri does not change. Auri cleans what she can, in every situation. If I lived in Finland, I would know of Auri and would ask if I could help clean, too.
Auri says she doesn't know why there is damage in the house and doesn't know what can be fixed, or if it should be condemned. ... very likely because she is not a contractor, electrician or plumber. However, she cleans anyway, and DOES NOT judge the people involved. I do see the benefit of her cleaning. The people who live in the house, the brother and ex-wife can see not only what needs to be repaired, but they can see the possible. But, of course, it takes money to buy building products ... plywood, 2x4's, electrical and plumbing parts, etc. I'm sure Auri would know how to forward your money to the brother, without violating their privacy.
Auri does not change. That tells us she is healthy and her character ... integrity, ethics, morality and every trait and habit that hold those up ... kindness, compassion, empathy, boundaries and more, and not judging is solid and stable. Those who judge and criticize, whether they know the situation or not, show their character, and lack of boundaries, as well.
You critical ones ... your relative ease, ignorance and entitlement is showing. If you don't think there are millions of people, worldwide, who live in houses like this, or less, you are surprisingly naive. Will you freely criticize a family in Sudan who lives in a tent and who has one daily task --- searching for something to eat and drink? Probably. Will you freely criticize the single parent in Appalachia who lives in a cabin that needs repair, with no electricity, no running water, or toilet, and has no money to fix anything? Probably.
The dog: It is not only common, it is wise to contain one's dog when strangers are in the house. Auri doesn't want a strange dog following her around, nor does anyone else on her team who may be with her.
Auri knows more about double coated dogs than every person who is criticizing the Husky being tied up and laying in the snow.
How many people know double coated dogs, like Huskies, haul sleds and carts in extremely cold temperatures? How many people know Livestock Guardian Dogs (LGD's) guard and herd livestock all over the world in what humans consider "extreme" cold ... that they enjoy their jobs, that the cold doesn't bother them, that they sleep in the snow? If you want to make the Husky in this video uncomfortable, bring him in the house and make him live in a warm environment like you do your chihuahua or bulldog.
Auri does not criticize the 17 yr old because he is old enough to make his own decisions. Despite too many who want to think of him as a "child"; and make him one, he is not. His reasons for staying with his Dad are his and he owes no explanation, especially to judgemental strangers.
Contact Auri. ... find out if there are ways you can financially can gather together to help this family, or if there are government agencies or volunteer groups who rehab homes. Search the internet for groups or agencies that operate in Finland with a mission to help rehab homes.
Or, just continue criticizing and judging people and situations you know nothing about except what you were allowed to see, by the creator, in one video.

I love your videos so much. I was diagnosed with ADHD in my 40s and I am a somewhat reformed hoarder (I used to be a junk and paper mache artist who made props for tv shows, but my obsession with keeping stuff, and my disorganised nature hurt my relationships and got me into trouble with my landlords). Being able to keep my home clean and tidy after decades of grime and chaos has changed my life. I love that you give people the opportunity for a fresh start, without judgement. If u ever run out of places in Florida and Europe, and start cleaning in the UK, I would love to help🙂

You are amazing for not giving up and not judging the man owning the house but helping him!

She did give up, if you watched the video you will see she left most of the house in a mess filth and dirty! She has cleaned worst dirty and messier houses and then gives up on helping the poor father and son , she lies to everyone in all her videos that she loves the dirtiest and the messiest houses to clean and as you see she can't even clean this house!

In the state the house was in, there is no way a repair man would even work on it. Now that it's clean, perhaps they can get a plumber and electrician in. This is not a fail. If the man really loves that property even with all the issues and wants to continue living there, more power to him. Great job for helping Auri, you're an inspiration! There's still a lot to do, but sometimes starting can be so overwhelming. You got the ball rolling in the right direction. :)

You did amazing work! I can’t imagine what it’s been like for that young man, growing up in this place. You made it livable, more hygienic, and more comfortable. Thank you for doing the lords work

It's a wonder that at -20C outside, the water didn't freeze in the pipes and burst them open. Those faucet perma-leaks probably saved them.

The old man probably did that on purpose when he couldn't afford a new heater and everything else started to break down too. They don't have any money, that's for sure...

AURI! That’s not a fail, that is a kind woman doing what she offered to do. You aren’t a fairy godmother like in the fairy tales, just a wonderful human who cares. Most people would have run away from that house. Other professionals refused. You didn’t. You also did fantastic work. My good wishes for the boy and the dog.

The whole place should be condemned. The fact that the owner wants to return there shows me that he is incapable of making rational decisions and looking after himself.
I hope the son can permanently live elsewhere.
You did your best with what you had Auri, and it looks 100 times better than it did.

I think the father could benefit from living in an assisted-living facility, it would take the burden of caring for a house off of his shoulders and allow him to focus on getting better mentally.

The 17-year-old and dog living there needed it, though. They still shouldn't be living there, but at least they can walk around easier and maybe store some edible food in that kitchen. And that 17-year-old will know what it's like to live in a cleanish environment now.
