@@DavesDiscoveriesChannel I purchased a charger that has a GB/T connector by mistake. My car supports a type 2 charger, if I purchased an adapter would it work or would it damage the vehicle? As GB/T has different protocols and signalling. I'm quite new to EV chargers so I'm wondering if you could advise me in this situation.
@@milontoo7 you only has to watch out for AC/DC. If your car supports DC, then any DC adapter will work. I dont think they make adapters from DC to AC so you would damage the vehicle.
@@DavesDiscoveriesChannel right so the car port is a type 2 and the charger is type 1 cable (American standards). It would be preferable to have an adapter that would work with DCFC.
CCS is possible too. You just need an adapter. Communication protocols are the same, just type 2 is used for Europe, because some countries have 3 phase supply.
Can you just pull it out when its charging considering there is no button to press?
Also does it work on ZE1 Leaf?
Can you send the link please

@@milontoo7don't risk it get a new adapter

I wonder if it’s possible to go backwards. The ev side is an ccs2 and the off board charger is ccs1. Have you encountered any such adapters.
As long as you’re only referring to the AC side AliExpress does a type 1 to type 2 adapter.

@@najiiklove a quick Google shows adapters but I’m struggling to see how the locking works as CCS is a vehicle side lock
@@DavesDiscoveriesChannel I am still fairly new to all this but wdym by locking? As in the car side control the charging state?
