      I've had good luck using hootsuite and later. Need to get more in the habit of actually keeping up with it. You wouldn't realise at first, how much work actually goes into curating a feed.

    • @Shalaco
      @Shalaco 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use Lightroom mobile for initial curation, editing and to lightning fast transfer to my phone. Then I use Preview to see them "In-grid". It's amazing how much context can change an image.

      I use Unfold for my stories. I'm a casual user but it seems to do the job well enough for me. Oh, and x2 respect multiplier for continuing to use words other than hack. Love it. More professional, less clickbait. :)

    Love these ideas for a consistent Instagram grid! It's all about that visual appeal, right? I've been experimenting with boost app social lately. It's pretty cool for crafting bios and captions that match my feed's vibe.

    I liked the video, just a good tip for anyone curious about keeping a consistent feed while changing up the style, tone, or color's is making a subtle transitions with each post. Peter McKinnon has a really good video on how he dose it with the changing sessions (ie. Fall to Winter)
    Just thought I would leave a comment bc while keeping photos consistent feed is important it's nice to change it up.

    You could always start to introduce purples, and oranges to your regular shots then slowly make the transition to the sunset shots then do the reverse to go back to the regular colour scheme. Could look pretty nice on the feed and serves as a way to add colour without breaking the aesthetic

  • @Mtanic
    @Mtanic 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    I don't want to constrain myself to one color scheme, but I want consistency, so I came up with the following: I started creating and posting 9*9 thematic puzzles, so only each puzzle is consistent and the next one has its own personality. But I still try, when going from one puzzle to the other, to make the transition smooth.

    I shoot mostly black and white and didn't like when I had a random color image to throw in and make the feed seem sloppy. So, I decided on a sort of "rule of thirds" posting approach. I have to have at least three of either b/w or color posted before moving on to the other. It helps it feel organized. I often post six or nine b/w to every three color, but those strips of color feel intentional.
    Might help with those moments of having epic skylines that don't match!

    I think the most important is the color that we choose in our feed on Instagram. Each seasons have a certain color theme & sometimes I goof off on the color theme of the season because I see some new content but different colors. Thus why I love the color theme of you guys becki&chris! It appeals my eye in much calmer & touch of modern!

    Also bonus tip, a super easy way to get a more consistent look in your feed is creating a checkerboard pattern by alternating light and dark images. It's especially useful when you're still trying to develop a style or theme, as it just helps tying everything together!

  • @iceman10129

    Something that I have been liking as far as the consistency topic is being consistent over say 30 shots and then moving to a new theme that gets its own 30 shots. Treating it like collections.

    I struggle really hard with this. I chalk it up to only being 2 years in the game. I'm still experimenting with tons of portrait styles and looking for what I like the most + learning new skillsets (studio vs outside, even lighting vs dramatic shadows, tons of color vs desaturated, BW vs any color at all). It frustrates me to try to keep some sort of consistent grid because of this. There's just so much to photography that it's hard to stick to one look just for the sake of a feed/brand :\

    I noticed the Voigtlander camera @3:01, very cool. I have one that I inherited from my father. It was his retirement gift his men gave him when he retired from the Army back in 1967. I think it all depends on what your instagram account is for. If it's a personal art project, then sure, a "grid theme" may be important. But, if you're using it as a portfolio and are interested in getting hired, then I wouldn't worry so much about all of your posts matching and looking the same.

    • @dna8269

      Interesting take. For some reason I think a consistent theme shows a higher level of professionalism because it isn't super common and usually the people doing it are talented in general.

    I was literally searching for this the other day. I created an instagram account for my channel the other day and I just don't post. I take instagram waaaay too seriously 😂 so instead of uploading and having fun II don't upload anything because nothing seems good and consistent enough. thanks becks!

    You can always post those odd shots on your story! Then make a highlight for them too with a cover that matches :) The carousel is another good trick but im so crazy that sometimes i even need my carousel to be aesthetic 😂
