I am your "a typical woman" with a not so positive past and several challenges I am/have overcome. The growth never stops. I stumbled on your ADHD recording several months ago and bought two of your audible books to help me understand myself as from past to present in late 50s ect, ect. You,Tara and your team are helping me to communicate what I need to my partner, and other significant relationships and health professionals, and I now see a natropath as well. NOTHING is more important to me than my mental and physical health. NOTHING. Thank you so much for your brain scanning work and not following the crowd.
This is fabulous. I’m loving this new podcast. My relationships are so important to me. I’ve read many of your books, Dr. Amen. Love seeing you and Tana together sharing real life issues. Thank You for doing this. So wonderful to understand some things we can help ourselves, some things are brain or lifestyle issues that we may need extra help with. Betty Ann
There is a great book called Alcohol Explained by William Porter. You can also listen to some of his youtube interviews. Truthfully, it will change your perspective on drinking. He talks about how your body reacts to alcohol and the steps it immediately takes to restore homeostasis once you drink. Example, your body uses adrenaline and cortisol to counteract the depression of your central nervous system from the alcohol. This is why the day after drinking you feel so much anxiety and have an elevated heart rate. Drinking is not worth it, especially the older you get
@ thank you very much for that I will see if the local bookstore has it if not get it ordered and yes everything that you said makes sense I literally spent all day in bed feeling like crap and trying to recover while wife and son were out doing things..I appreciate the help very much🙏🏽and Aloha from Hawaii🤙🏽
Maybe try going to a meeting. I used to have to travel 40 minutes because the ones around me I didn't, I didn't like them. It will change your life. I never felt so free and my entire life. I was over after 8 years. I went back. Now I've been sober 5 years. It will save your son's life. Literally.
