    For a robot, the only thing stopping it from solving the cube instantly is the sheer physics of its moving robot parts. It can see all of the sides at once, and a simple formula can be used to calculate how many moves it takes to move all of the blue squares to one side based on where each blue square is placed on the cube.

    • @Stewy-
      @Stewy- 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Tokugawa Heavy Industries "and a simple formula can be used to calculate how many moves it takes to move all of the blue squares to one side based on where each blue square is placed on the cube"
      that's not how it works

      Stewy That's not how this specific robot works?

    • @hedgechasing
      @hedgechasing 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Tokugawa Heavy Industries that's not how any robot works. The algorithm is hardly simple and in fact solving the cube has nothing to do with putting all the blue squares in place then all the red ones etc. the cube is composed of 27 pieces. On core with six arms onto which six centers, one for each color are affixed. These allow the sides to rotate. That leaves 20 pieces, 12 edges with two colors and 8 corners with 3 colors that can actually move. I do not know the exact method method this robot uses but it basically finds the most optimal series of approximately 20 face turns to place those pieces and sends them to the motors.

    • @HereForTheComments
      @HereForTheComments 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @NiceArtOne 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Patches4000 I think Guinness World Records Channel is the wrong channel for you to see good slow mo Videos.
      Go to The Slow Mo Guys if you want to see good slow mo Videos.

    • @Patches4000
      @Patches4000 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      NiceartOnline Yea i've seen the slow mo guys and its great but what I don't get is how a internationally recognized institution like Guinness doesn't have the funding to get high quality slow mo when I've seen amazing slow motion on start up channels with zero outside funding. It's not a must, but again its just suprising

      Patches4000 I think the problem here is that the majority of us are here to watch it solve fast,not slow.If you want to stare at a slow motion robot solve for, 5 minutes then go to another channel or something!

    This is deceptive - Each arm is fixed to the center piece which means it can rotate and solve only when each arm has unique color piece to begin with. For example, here, left arm - white, right arm - blue and bottom arm - red and so on. It can't solve any randomly shuffled Rubik's cube.
