Hey, I'm a new viewer and I just wanted to let you know that I really liked what I saw from you so far. Your videos have really calming vibes and I love how you talk about books and book-related things. Heard some new infos about the woman's prize, for example, I didn't really follow them so I had no idea how wrongly they handled the topic... I also find it really important how openly you talk about chronic illnesses. These topics are so overlooked, I have to admit I don't have much knowledge about them either but I'm glad I could learn a little from you. Anyway, thanks for your work, looking forward to seeing more! :)
Yes it's so validating to hear you talk about pain like that. My boyfriend often has to remind me to take pain killers when I'm in pain if it's not like so bad I can't stand but still hurts. Even my rheumatologist told me to just take the painkillers, but I feel like i've been getting messages that painkillers= addiction and/or weakness for so long that I resist.
@@hannahmay11 I think it's across generations, my mum is a big one for demonising pain meds. But also that's the Northern Irish thing of just pull yourself together and stop complaining

Oh gosh, I feel the whole thing about pain and rest... managed to convince myself that double courseload (to catch up to where I felt I 'should' be in my degree), working part-time and helping my mom (who was also dealing with health stuff) was all doable while dealing with pulmonary emboli in both of my lungs 🙃It took me talking with my friends and saying all of it out loud to go "oh maybe I should slow down a bit"... all of that to say, very glad I'm not the only one who needs to be reminded to rest😅 Also, cream egg BAR?! that sounds absolutely amazing... lovely vlog, as always, hope that surgery recovery is going well❤️
Love batch-cooking food and movie days. Very jealous you are able to watch Disney+. Hope you feel much better soon. Your interior decor stuff is beautiful as well. Would deffo recommend emailing the support team at uni. The uni shouldn't only have counselling but lots of things they can do to assist you in things you may need help with. Would definitely recommend you speak to student support only if it's to see what options they have for you. Whenever I have interacted with the team at my uni, they have been very helpful and understanding. Sending well wishes xoxo

i have A LOT of thoughts about the women’s prize longlist lol. i’m also planning to do a video on it too, but even thinking about it is exhausting. i’m planning to get an e-reader, but i want one to mimic a book as much as possible. i forgot kobos existed so i’ll have to check it out.

Just a thought if you get an e reader be careful as quite often you will not be able to get library books on them. BorrowBox is not even readable on Kindle unless you have a Kindle Fire.. it depends what scheme your library signs up to..I have to read my library books on my phone which is a pain.. Brighton libraries use Borrow Box and Overdrive, neither of which are readable on Kindle
Hey I ended up getting a kobo and I can hook it up to overdrive which is great 🙏 I also mostly use it for reading net galley proofs or non fiction ebooks from indie publishers that I buy direct like verso or Pluto
when the women's prize was announced i was like who the heck is the terf??? lol someone i've never heard of/dont plan to read. thankfully i've never been one to buy the books on any prize list.... seems stressful tbh. also i'm here to take notes on birthday gift ideas lol 👀👀

I'm only part way through watching so may leave another comment at the end! Firstly I agree with you the reaction on social media to the murder of Sarah Everard. I saw so many posts from people who never usually talk on these issues posting things like "enough is enough" or "I'm so shocked by this case". My reaction to that is enough was enough for as long as human culture has existed and therefore, how on earth can anyone be shocked by this? It's appalling but devastatingly, not at all shocking. Secondly other than youtube I don't spend much time on line so had to no idea what you were talking about in regards to Akwaeke Emezi being banned from submitting last year. I just looked into it and it's disgusting of them. I wish I hadn't recently done videos talking about the longlist. Thanks for sharing it here!

I'm looking forward to your video addressing the discourse around the Women's Prize because the nomination of a trans woman alongside a woman who actively causes harm to the trans community is so frustrating. yes thinking about this notion alot! i think demoising of pain meds is big in my generation for sure i feel it with able bodied friends alot, weird
