    These are the kind of cheap but great idea. Really great idea. I have two questions: what the name of the tools you are using to flame the wax after drop on the board?
    How do you remove the wax in case of need without damaging the board overheating it to melt the wax with fire?

      yes , just make sure you dry out the battery and motor after your done playing in the water so they dont corrode

    Don't know if I missed something or not, but what about the servo or the lights and battery connection

      the servo is just a toy grade 130 motor in a gear box so it is fine getting wet , the lights dont mind getting wet because they are led , i usually just blow out the battery connection with my air compressor , no issues yet

      @@lakilakisorong8204 i made sure to dry the battery out completely by blowing it out with my air compressor , the on off switch you can just spray it out with wd40

      Yes they still work after getting wet , i use my air compressor to blow dry the truck after playing in the water just to make sure nothing rusts or corrodes

      @B J the motor is not waterproof these small motors work fine underwater just make sure to dry them out completely

    hi friend, i have a jjrc q65 i'm from brazil and i really wanted to do this idea, so i'm afraid to spoil it by the comments, i saw that it's a great idea and it works, i wanted to know if i need to go through the engine and lights connections and wanted to know where do i need to put the candle

      Just over the board , but always make sure to dry out everything after going in the water , take the truck apart if you have to be sure , this mod is mainly for those cheap rc's that people are ok with ruining if something goes wrong , it worked great for me and has worked for many years , just do not use a scented candle , the scent wax will short out the board

    I want to waterproof my rc truck and it a 9300 sandy land truck and would be nice to know how to waterproof this kind of truck. And does it melt the wax when it's hot?

    I used to do this with my white canvas vans .. but rather than dripping .. just rub it in and then hairdryer it, actually works great .. mud and stains just run off

      on a higher dollar rc yes but like i stated in the video this mod is really for cheap rc cars , toy grade cars

    I've done that with a stock WPL C-14 underwater and nothing happened, but the wax is actually a good idea

      Its more thicker and cant come off and on your board it will be hot and your board will not work WARNING MAY CATCH ON FIRE USE CANDLE WAX INSTEAD BECAUSE ITS MORE THINER AND LESS THICKER.

      a glue gun might work you would need to make sure that there are no gaps for moisture to get through

    Hot glue is another widely available option if you are or live with a crafty person. You can spread dielectric grease on the motor vents and bushings for extra protection. Dielectric grease can be found in little single use packets by the checkout of any auto parts stores. You wouldnt need more than one packet for one of these trucks. I also recoment waxing the seams of the heat shrink and especialy where the wires come out of the battery pack. A little dab of dielectric grease inside any plug you need to be able to easily unplug like the battery plug will work wonders.

      Not a brushed motor , they work underwater , just make sure you dry it out real good

      It might , with mixed results , in the past ive found that hot glue will allow water to creep under and lift it after prolonged exposure to water , it may work for a bit

      I usually either blow it out very well with an air compressor or il sit it in front of a fan to dry out , you can also spray the motor out with wd40 which will displace any remaining moisture

      @@ps4tings545 i just poked a few small holes in the shrink wrap on the pack so water would drain and air could circulate , seemed to do just fine , i have an adjustable floor fan that i turn up and sit the truck and battery on and i leave it to dry overnight after spraying it down with the air compressor , never had any issues

      The motor should be fine , you can spray it out with contact cleaner or compressed air as long as you dont put it away wet it shouldnt do anything to the motor

      @@dontneedone990 cause parts of the board do get hot. The wax has a low melting point and will actually act like a cooling fluid on the other hand hot glue that melts at a higher temp will not melt as quickly and will hold heat to the board probably causing it to burn out

      You have to dry the motor out and spray wd40 in it to keep it from rusting

      the wax would work on the board inside a servo , just dont clog up the gears with it
