To strengthen rupee following steps need to be taken:
    a. Increase import duty on non essential commodities which have domestic alternatives to promote domestic manufacturers
    b. Reduce export duty on domestic goods and services
    c. Reduce import duty on essential raw materials for domestic products to make domestic products more competitive
    d. Promote EV and Renewables to reduce dependency on Crude oil and imported Coal
    e. Promote foreign investment to setup plants of foreign manufacturers by giving tax incentives like PLI schemes

Absolutely loved this comment. But I wonder how WTO would react to this, since India was already facing pressure to remove subsidies to its farmers and nonetheless WTO is like best for the west. But by all means RBI needs to protect the forex reserves it has and it’s the people who can help them.
If in the next day India’s economy become more self reliant and people start using Indian manufactured products, that is where exactly WTO and the west will bow down to India. One central bank might not have the power to do that but definitely 1.4 billion people have the power to do it.

@@pksingh3232 another aspect I would consider is that the appreciation that USD has taken right now is a short term appreciation, I believe, which is basically a bubble with all time peaks with currencies, and the cause of it is the all time high inflation. Since the inflation is high they are increasing the interest rates which is attracting foreign investments causing capital inflows. These capital inflows are not accompanied by strong capital control policies, so I personally feel that the recession will hit US the similar way it hit East Asian countries in 1997-98. And when it hits the currency will drop. Additionally, since US is a global leader the effect will be contagious and which could lead world into global crisis. What do you say?

    • @pksingh3232

@@vatsalmaheshwari7884 There is already an ongoing slowdown in USA due to high inflation primarily due to high liquidity but fundamentals of US economy is still strong because their exports will still grow which will cushion the economic slowdown, moreover a strong USD is not good for US exports. The 2008 recession was primarily due to huge NPAs in the US Banking system , the current issue is not of NPAs so I feel in the next 3 months US economy will start recovering, you should see high capital inflows into Indian economy because we are still doing comparatively better than US , UK as far as inflation is concerned. I feel the USD has already risen a lot and now its time for it to correct to 75 levels soon

Your suggestions are good and easily implementable. Despite intelligent officers and advisors govt still not taking such steps. Why? Afterall people in govt know everything. They r not fools to not understand such simple things. Then whats the problem... The problem will not be found in any textbooks, media or anywhere.... Problem is rising domination of US UK and France multi national companies. They do lobbying and through bribes they manipulate our policies. This is real problem. All parties are together on this issue. If India does not obey them then India might face a real problem ie war. Kargil happened bcoz Vajpayee refused FDI in media and Insurance sector. So USA did kargill via Pakistan.
      Solution -
      1.Self made complex weapons.
      2.Right to recall PM.
      3. Jury System.
      4. Referendum/TCP
      5. Remove GST and bring Empty Land Tax.
      6. Direct Royalty of all minerals mined to citizens and military account.

One major factor you might have missed is the interest rate parity. Let's say risk free rate of return (consider FD/Govt bond) in India is 6% and 2% in the USA. In that case you may take the advantage of the arbitrage available and try to invest in rupees and convert to usd after one year. But remember there is no free lunch and the market forces with compensate this interest rate differential with the currency exchange rate. So ceteris paribus, rupee will go on devaluing against USD as long as there is interest rate differential.

    Great video as always...
India is buying large chunk of gold every year and people are bulking it up ... without bringing it out into the economy
It is one of the reason for rupee depreciation where we are buying gold in dollars and it is not being invested anywhere w.r.t our country development

It will help us to be more efficient and powerful.

    - stop or decrease buying of production which are not ‘Made in India’ for few months, give more preferences to Indian companies as even manufacturing & selling in India, but, if company is not Indian, mostly Rupee profit would go out as dollar
    - buy much local products
