The point here is deductive reasoning because Naofumi went from a standing position to suddenly being launched across the arena while Motoyasu was still picking himself up and Myne was the only other person besides those two who was standing in the arena when it occurred. Even if one didn't realize it was Myne, just the fact the the person who was winning just suddenly went flying from a neutral position would be a red flag to a reasonable person that some fuckery is afoot.

Maybe someone in the audience decided they didn't like that this person who has been accused of a crime is seen to be publicly winning at something. The accusation is four-fold here, and each layer has difficulties: * That magic was cast (easy for those in attendance to deduct) * That Naofumi was the target (easy for those in attendance to deduct, since it hit him) * That the goal was the victory of the spear hero and the defeat of the shield hero (slightly less easy of a leap, but most reasonable people would reach this if they were being honest) * That Myne, the Princess, was the one to cast the magic and sabotage a duel her father ordered. (Very difficult to get people to publicly agree to, for several reasons, not least of which being that being a noble and tell royalty that they're being duplicitous assholes is not a place anyone wants to be. Another is that many, given the lies they believe and the prejudices they have, may consider this justified or a righteous act, to further screw over someone who they see as the devil.)

This is the ep that got me hooked. Pushed the betrayal of myne even further. Introduced the curse series shield. Touches on the fact he's been trapped in depression to the point food has no flavor. Raphtallias devotion to him because she sees him, not the horrible rumors. Just top tier
This anime is kinda a unique one for a "none real subject" I've never seen a hero going through such pain and anger, loneliness is just insanely great. It makes you feel so many emotions

Not only that, after you pass the level cap, you gain new skills and Stat upgrades. Motoyasu had those and STILL lost (if myne hadn't interfered). He's on a whole 'nother level of useless if he can't beat a level 20 tank.

Depression is a monster. Everything's so dark, it dulls your taste, and your brain tells you that no matter what's said you, especially compliments, that it's all a lie and everyone has an agenda. It doesn't help that Naofumi was disrespected and betrayed basically from Day 1. It's such a huge deal to see Raphtalia be Naofumi's light, and help him through everything. It's so pure to see, and hits you in the feels so hard. You can help but cry alongside Naofumi.
I feel like we were the shield in this episode. We as audience were consumed by hatred ourselves and I'm sure we wanted to go on a rampage. But best girl Raphtalia to pull us out of it. We believe her words and she must be protected at all cost!

Yes, this episode is indeed one of the best in the series. I do feel this episode had the best in terms of establishing just what kind of dark place Naofumi had ended in, and how Raphtalia really become a lifeline for him just to remain connected to what semblance of normalcy left that he didn't chase out from his mind. The transitioning of Raphtalia's form from a child to her young adult was a nice touch. Naofumi himself was, as you said, might have not realized that she had grown. He was too occupied to keep his guard up against everything that he ceased to acknowledge what's going on around him. It may have felt quick for us since there are definitely time skips between the episodes so far. However, in that period of time, I think it's enough to really throw someone into a terrible, terrible place. Being betrayed, framed, and shunned by everyone, in a foreign place, and not even a personal space to go back to (I doubt Naofumi felt at ease even while resting in an inn). It really puts to perspective how much of that pressure just gutted him alive, and by then, the fact that he lost sense of taste no longer came as a surprise, in that regard. Still, I love how Naofumi kept saying that he's doing things for himself--which is true--but it's safe to say that he's still that good, somewhat jolly young man we saw in the first episode at heart. We also see how much of a scum of the whatever-world-they-are-in Myne was, and that Motoyasu (Spear Mongrel) was, not only easily manipulated, but also painfully self-centered. Itsuki and Ren (Bow & Sword) gets their share of character showcase as well. Lovely reaction as always. This ride is going to be a thrilling one, I can tell you~
Manga fact: before the wave, when Naofumi and Raphtalia were shopping for his new armor, the shopkeep initially suggested a chainmail shirt; to which Naofumi said "I am not wearing that fucking thing". Myne really did a number on him.
Excellent episode. You're one of the first reactors who actually understood that Naofumi didn't notice Raphtalia grow and just saw her as a child this whole time. She is wonderful and sincerely said and meant what I think every person would love to hear from another person. As far as Naofumi, it goes to show just how deep his depression was.....he couldn't even taste food til the end of this episode.

His wrath and rage blinded him to see Raphtalia only as a child and cant taste any food. When he felt peace with raphtalia’s words, all of it somehow cleared although the rage isnt completely gone.

So, Naofumi got teleported while reading a book. While Motoyatsu (Blonde hair hero) literally got kidded by one of his girlfriends when she found out he was cheating on him n caught him redhanded. So gives u an idea of their personalities.
I think you forget that Naofumi is a known rapist convicted and sentenced by the court of the land. People generally don’t have a reason to question this since it is official, including the other heroes. And being a matriarchal society, such a crime is considered especially heinous. In short, Naofumi has a lot to overcome, but he is slowly doing so by deeds. He may have said screw everything and everyone and is now an asshole, but he can’t help but do the right thing in a pinch and people are taking notice of his actions.
Myne is lucky to be in this universe, If she was actually in Redo of healer with that universe's princess ,she would get fucked up by the MC by a 1000 times .

Did you notice the level difference between Naofumi and motoyasu. It’s a 20 level difference Naofumi is level 20 and motoyasu is level 40
