Finally, they took up the old plugins. I bought this one essentially for the sake of one sound, to play with the second head. But now with fuzz, I began to like the first head. Plus, we added a piezo blend (I don't have one, alas). At first glance, the plugin has become much cooler than it was before. And even the new archetype fades against its background (there is perhaps an interesting Echo)

Great overview of the plugin! I was a little shocked when I saw that they'd added the extra effects - makes a huge difference in the kinds of sounds it can produce. While Neural hasn't said it directly, I believe the amps have also been remodeled through their current modeling algorithm.
Quick note about your comment about presets (8:15-ish) - almost all of these are new to Plini X. I checked my preset folder for the original version, and the original plugin included 16 factory presets, 7 by Plini, and 5 by Simon Grove. This is definitely a plus for a lot of users.

Their Tone King Imperial model is THE ONE for that IMO OR the Cory Wong is really spanky clean... BUT, Tone King FTW.

It such a shame you and Neural fell out. Makes me want to play my QC less. You were really the only one making content for it I loved. I hope they see the error of their ways and loop you back in. But till then I still dig all your other content. (I also have a FM9 and hx stomp so I’ll still be watching!)

Great video mate. Curious to hear your opinion on the usage of compressor pedals...do you have any videos on compressors out there??
A mate once told me compressors are a way to compensate for poor technique , but that's a load of rubbish. Legends use it, but Im curious to hear your opinion on the usage and application of compressors.
I think I missed how a plugin upgrade means the porting to the QC is near completion. This was all plugin, no?
Basically they changed the backend of the plugin with this update. I think it's now on an architecture that can easily be ported to the QC, but they haven't actually completed that process yet.

I've loved neural but now that i know you guys had a falling out it really leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. I guess I'll be leaning more towards line 6 now.

Can you use it on QC yet? I've just bought a QC and have had Plini for ages and updated to Plini X, but I can't seem to get it on my Quad Cortex. Am I doing something wrong or is it still not compatible?

I just had an email from neural dsp saying they had a free plugin for me. Bonus, I've already got 4, but I chose the Gojira X as its cortex compatible now, and I've never tried it. That's made my day.
Did neural stop working with you cause you spoke about their QC?
I wish the doubler (in all suites) had a mix control. It's just a little too on the nose for me

Not sure how a mix control would work on a stereo doubler.
Maybe like a stereo slapback delay. Keep the original signal in the center and add two variations on the sides. So a stereo trippler!
@@josuastangl7140 quite like you describe. Chorus pedals do this all the time (it's called depth). Easy to do in software.
@@rutger4131 You're right. Chorus pedals have mix knobs and many can do stereo.
I was just thinking in terms of a classic stereo doubler, that pushes the original signal to the left and creates a double on the right with a bit of delay, some chorusing and whatever they can come up with to make it different, but not phasey.

So I mean, Plini X is just Plini with Asato features like double and transpose ? Or is there something I'm missing here ?
A lot of the features like the doubler, transpose, and metronome have been standard for Neural plugins since Archetype Petrucci. The original Plini plugin had a limited number of effects; the chorus, fuzz, octaver, and pre-amp delay are all new. There’s also a large variety of presets (the original had very few), which imo really show off the versatility of this plugin.

This is good theyre slowly trying to meet their years old promises. Eventually there will be a day when the modeler wars won't have any juicy neurotic DSP lols. But I'm afraid still a few more years of comedy gold yet

The graphic design on this looks awful compared to what they did with Tim Henson for example, even the fonts used for the names on the pedals looks like the default Arial font!

given the amount of money and time DSP spends on making their plugins pretty and 'fresh' looking, I don't think it's that much of a weird complain.
Also he can critique the UI or design while still liking the plugin itself, no reason to 'attack' him for saying his piece.
I don't think it's a weird thing to mention at all given how the first thing anyone sees when opening a DSP plugin is their (mostly beautiful and inspiring) UI.
