My official review of this kayak. I had a 2021 model for the 2022 kayak bass fishing tournaments. It did the job. Made a big difference from the standard paddle kayaks. However mine had some flaws. Cons. The ruder cable snapped twice, once during a tournament. The drive is a beast (turbo props) but did have some wiggle and was difficult to align when bringing the drive back up. Mine didn’t track the best (would pull to the same side my monitor was on. The rudder also warped and came unpinned a couple times (improper install from the guy I bought it from) Lack of storage for a tournament angler like myself. Pros. It handled 3-foot white caps on the main lake. The drive never let me down. Stability was great for a budget kayak.
I have the crank which is essentially the same but 10'. To make the prop drive snug loosen the Allen bolts that hold the lock pin in place and tighten it back down with it firmly against drive. To prevent steering drift take off the rudder control knob and make some felt washers to tighten it up.
"Budget kayak?"...this is a $2200 kayak retail price so pretty much on par with similar kayaks from other brands. Not sure why you would consider this a "budget kayak"...those would be brands like Lifetime, or Ascend.
Great video. How about doing one on light easy to transport kayaks. Hobie iTrek11, Hobie Lynx, Feelfree Airship, Pelican Getaway, Native Slayer 10 Propel, basically Kayaks under 70 lbs
Would you get that or the Vibe Makana? I was watching your video on the Makana, and it seems very stable. And I noticed the fins become flat on the bottom
@Aliex Folgueira lol I have the 2020 Ranger. I'm about 250lbs think the Makana is stable enough for me? Right now I own the Seaghost 130 but I definitely need a peddle

I’ve actually been thinking about picking one of these up and seeing this video makes me feel justified in my decision
Happy to help

I don't know if that ever gonna happen lol but never lose hope the solo happened lol
🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Awesome stuff dude
Hey I have just ordered a john bass 100 with the fixed pod. Would a 4hp be good or should I get a 5hp
It is rated for 2.5 hp, a 4 could be fine but be careful lol

umm, i mean this boat is very old, doesnt have the nice things the makana has, it is like buying a 2016 Ram 1500 instead of a 2023 Ford ranger

@Aliex Folgueira we must be neighbors as I use that spot on 175 St. sometimes lol
@Phrosty420 if you can stand on the 130 and feel good, you will be able to on the makana, it is more stable I would say

Ok. That one is no longer available. 😉. He did have a good price on it. Now just need to find some water to get into.
happy you got one! finding good water is the issue
@@AliexFolgueira best part is that it's lighter than my old towne pdl.
I had a perception pescador pilot. The boat is ok. The drive wiggles a little. Prop doesn't always align and the chair is just poor quality.
Was it a recent model? I haven't try them in a while
Where r you from your English sounds different
Cus I was born in Cuba and I speak aliex lol 😆
Sub 2000...???!! How is that.. it's literally 2000 dollars after tax and such SMH... 🤦♂️🤣🤣🤣
Lol
@AliexFolgueira hey what is your nationality and/or ethnicity? If you don't mind my asking.. If I were to guess, I would say Cuban or Puerto Rican..
