The volume is absolutely chock full of great options and ideas for GMs of all experience levels. You don't have to be running Tales of the Valiant, Dungeons & Dragons, or any other 5E adjacent fantasy RPG to find lots in this book you can use at your game table. The 304 page hardcover carries an MSRP of $59.99 or grab just the PDF alone at DriveThruRPG for $34.99.

I'm suprised that you don't have more subs, because your videos are really great

Glad you like them! As for subs, I just don't focus on a ton of self-promotion. I'd rather spend that time creating content. ~ Jeff

This and Cairn’s 2e Warden guide are my favorite GM guides at the moment. Oh and the Mothership Warden guide as well

Really good and useful help for GMs is certainly nice. Too few games do much to help out the person stuck running things.

I'd love if Kobold Press had a similar GM guide for Pathfinder. They seem to have abandoned their Pathfinder line...
EDIT: They actually have a whole book on gamemastering... it's worth checking it out.

They are going to put more of their effort into their own system obviously. You would find a lot of the advice in the TOV GM guide transfers across to pathfinder - obviously not the things most tied to stat blocks and 5e mechanics but still a lot of value.

If you want optional rules, would it be a good idea to pick up DMG 5e?

I am curious. Now that you have seen both books. Which one would you recommend as a guide to start writing adventures.

By both books, I'll guess you mean TotV and D&D 2024? If that's the question, then I'd say I like the TotV book better. Your mileage may vary of course. ~ Jeff

@@Thegaminggang I meant those two. Thanks for your quick answer!
P.S. Sorry for the cryptic question, it made all the sense in my head at the moment I wrote it.

i hope that some time in the future kobold press will take some of the best of the dnd 2024/dnd 5.5e and make their own improved spin on it. like the Weapons mastery system and the bastions.

TOV already has weapon options added to bash, disarm, hamstring, pull, trip and pinning and ricochet shots. They tend to work as options instead of doing damage but they are also often more powerful than the weapon mastery options. Bastions aren't there as a subsystem but I'm really not sure how much use it will get in D&D even. It doesn't fit in with any of the published campaigns I've played and it is not flexible enough for my liking - I don't want to wait till 13th level if I want to run a pub and I kind of feel I ought to be out saving kingdoms by then and enjoying my first interplanar road trip.
