    Hello I have doubt you find volume of column and beam but you don't remove the steel volume in it bcz steel is insert the concrete so you first minus the volume to the concrete then add to steel plzz clarify

      Volume of steel is quite less in comparison to the concrete volume. Thus directly considering total volume as concrete upholds near to accurate results.

    I have planned to construct two separate rooms like 20*10 ( ground floor with 10*14 room size at first floor) & 22.5*10 (only ground floor) . My engineer suggested RCC is as follows. Pls tell it correct or not. Basement level of 22.5*10 is 2 feet less than 20*10 room
    1. For 20*10 - 6 columns of 12*4 with 8mm stirr up of 7 inch c/c - four at each corner and remaining two at spacing of 8 feet at one end and 11 ft at other end. Plinth beam with 1.5 feet height and 9*9 (l*b). Ceiling height is 10 feet. Planned tie beam at below windows (2.5 feet) and lintel (7 feet) of 6 inch rcc
    2. For 22.5*10 - 6 columns of 12*4 with 8mm stirr up of 7 inch c/c - four at each corner and remaining two at spacing of 10 feet at one end and 10 ft at other end. Plinth beam with 1 feet height and 9*9 (l*b). Ceiling height is 12 feet. Planned tie beam at below windows (4 feet) and lintel ( 8 feet) with 6 inch rcc
    And join the both room in ceiling and both room in 90 degree position to each other

    my living room size is 19 by 19 feet i consulted with structural engineer who provided 15 inch beam in between in which 5inch will be merge in slab but do not want to see beam in my living room ....is there ny alternative to avoid this beam .......it is g1 storey house
