    Funny story, I crashed my bike yesterday. I just got my friend to ride a 4 foot tall drop in our woods. I follow him in because he wanted to go before me. His dog followed him to the drop. I was about to hit it and he was on the drop. I yelled for him to move. He did but was standing on the landing . I hit my front brakes, don’t know why. I went off it and did an endo for 8,10 feet and flipped

    You should add a flywheel to keep the momentum.

  • @evanbarnes9984
    @evanbarnes9984 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hell yeah! So dope! I have a suggestion. You have a gear reduction going on with that belt drive setup. Look for a way to change that so you're actually stepping up the speed of the spindle. If it's spinning faster, the loading on your tool should be lower, meaning lower instantaneous torque should be required to keep everything spinning while you're cutting. I think this should translate into less belt slippage. This is a lot of conjecture. I have some experience with powered wood lathes, and some more with CNC router work, and I'm just slamming together a hypothesis based on ideas like chip load, feed rate, depth of cut, that kind of thing. I'm not an expert though, but basically I'm pretty sure that with the speeds you have now, faster = better.

  • @someotherdude

    if that belt is made of nylon web it's going to be inherently slippery; try giving it and the wheels a dusting of spray mount (rubber glue in a can) I'm sure that will work. The other issue is that your wheels are too crowned; the crown should be rounded, not pointed, and barely visible. Nice work!
