      But I have $100,000 so I love the recommendation but what to do about all the rest of the money, it’s sitting in my wellsfargo savings. Please help me! Please! I maxed out Roth, and I don’t have a 401k and I’m not doing contract work. So I don’t have that option right now.

    • @WealthyTiffany

      @@stephanieb7490 Hi Stephanie! Great job maxing out your Roth! You can always set up a brokerage account (taxable account) and invest as much money as you want to in there. If you hold your investments for at least one year, you'll be taxed a lower rate when you do pull the investments out (if you pull them out within a year, you'll be taxed at your ordinary tax rate). Also, if you have a health insurance plan that allows for an HSA, you could set up an HSA that allows you to invest that money into the stock market (instead of pulling it out for health expenses), so that could be another option for $3,500 (if you're single, more if you're married). Here's a video about an HSA: th-cam.com/video/1nFmLf_DiwU/w-d-xo.html 😊

      Tiffany Thomas, your wealth mentor thank you so much replying! I have my Roth and brokerage account with no hsa option right now. My portfolio is diversified, I’m really working on it. I don’t know how much cash I should keep. I’m not married but I have 3 kids. One that’s 2.5 years away from college.... slightly terrified as to how I’ll ensure I’m making the right decisions... even with all I am doing, I’ve got 100k to do something with. And I’m on vanguard (Roth & brokerage acct) and acorns and Robinhood. Trying to figure out how to make smart decisions with my money. My income is super high but it may not always be. Trying to figure out how to grow my money more and how much to invest total (how much to keep in cash).

      Stephanie B You’re welcome Stephanie! It sounds like you are making some good progress. As far as how much to keep in cash, I like to try to keep as much of my money working for me as possible, here’s another of my videos that explains how to figure out how much to keep in your savings versus investing that I think will be helpful for you: th-cam.com/video/kRtgWxPVR_c/w-d-xo.html

      Tiffany Thomas, your wealth mentor I love how empowered you are and how you empower and inspire other women. I’ve been binge watching your videos. How could one become your protege? Lol. But really, do you sell trainings, calls or Skype sessions? If you do I would love to order a mentor session, it would help to be able to share my exact situation and get more direction based on you having a better understanding. Please let me know if you offer these type of services. I really really am looking for another woman willing to help me grow in my financial journey and I understand nobody has time to do that for free, something about you really makes me feel comfortable and like you are trust worthy with integrity. I come from hard beginnings, I was a teen mom, with a rough start to life and no support. No one taught me about anything yet alone finances... I was homeless as a child and severely neglected/abused as a child as well and to finally be able to take care of myself and feed my children and never have to go to sleep without food has changed my life. As a teen mom, I faced so many nights of hunger so that my child would not have to face the same childhood that I had lived. Finally I have something, not rich, not wealthy, but finally I have something. And I want a future... just because I had a bad start doesn’t mean I can’t have a good ending. I want to be successful with this money so bad that I’ve spent many nights in tears and prayer. Terrified that I could mess this opportunity up. Praying that God would help me find the right resources to make a real future for my babies. You responding to my questions brought a tear to my eye tonight. Even if you don’t offer paid services that I can order, thank you for your videos, these free resources are changing my life. Learning from you is opening doors for me. Of course I have so many more questions but I am now with Vanguard because of how much I have learned from you. You don’t probably know this but you’re changing peoples lives. Sorry to be long winded and sentimental... I’m just emotional lately because I’m so grateful for this information. It’s changing my life even though I’m still confused on so much, at least I’m trying... trying for my babies and I. Thank you.

      Lump sum beats DCA most of the time in the long run, assuming (which historically you have to) an upward-trending market. DCA makes you feel better and spreads the risk a bit, but you lose some of the capital gains from not being fully invested in the market.

      @InvestingEducation 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you feel about ETF's?

    • @WealthyTiffany

      Hi Raymond, I like ETFs as long as they have low expense ratios. They don’t have minimums to get started, like some index funds, which is great.

    • @WealthyTiffany
      @WealthyTiffany  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I like that VBIAX has a lot lower expense ratio, it's also a little less risky, so depending on if you want to be a little less risky, that could be good. If you wanted to have even less risk, you could even go with VBTLX, while keeping some VTSAX to still get some growth.
      Thank you jm clay!

    I agree. Doing it yourself is the best method. But for those (maybe elderly people for example) it may be good to have a fee only fin advisor. But I think in the end I'd rather put it into diversifying between stocks(index funds) and real estate

    Vanguard charges .30%.. If you had 1million dollars would you invest in ETFs or index funds? Other than being able to trade ETFs more easily is there any other advantage? Im new to investing so I have a newbie question. The Market obviously has done really good the last 10 years and like any are there economic cycle we are due for a downturn so is there a way to invest and still make money with the recession on the horizon? Should I wait?

    • @WealthyTiffany
      @WealthyTiffany  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Johnny! Vanguard's VTI is .03% and VTSAX (their Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund) is .04%. VTI does act like a stock because you can trade it and it also has a slightly lower expense ratio, which is the other advantage. Either one would be great, I just like the lower expense ratio and if you are using Vanguard they don't charge a commission fee to buy their own ETFs. It's hard to say if I would wait or not. People thought it was going to downturn a couple of years ago and I've had positive returns since then. It depends on you, if you just want to get it in the market and you'll keep it there long-term, even it if does take a downturn, it will go back up over time (because it always does). You could risk it and try to wait, but you may miss out on great returns. I like the phrase, "It's not about timing the market, it's about time in the market." That being said, it's up to you because you have to feel comfortable with your investments. 😊

      @@WealthyTiffanyThank you for the input..good points..I spoke with a vanguard financial adviser yesterday. I know most people say not to use one because added costs ,however im still thinking about it because I might relocate and buy a house in 3 years so I want to invest based on my goals..not just long term which is how I would invest if not for the potential house purchase. In your opinion how would you invest if you foresaw a downturn in stocks. More specifically if you wanted to buy a house in 3 years from today.. Thank you for your time I knows it kinda alot 😄

    • @WealthyTiffany
      @WealthyTiffany  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnnybarton449 You're welcome Johnny! I love that you're setting goals. There's a lot of things in play here, but just making some assumptions, here's how I'd look at it. I would figure out approximately how much I'd need for a down payment in 3 years. If I knew a downturn in stocks was coming (I don't know how, but if that was the case), when the downturn happened, I would invest as much as possible in the stock market while it's on sale. And assuming I'm still making money over the next 3 years, I'd probably save what I'm making in a high interest savings account until I reached the down payment number, but anything extra along the way, I'd still be stocking up on the stock market sale. It's about having as much as money working for you as soon as possible, while still working on your goals. Hopefully that helps! Keep me posted on what you decide to do! 😊
