Hey Spektography, there used to be a website that had a bunch of regina songs and it was listed in a way where you could see them by date and it was really cool bc i could find like old performances of all the rowboats for example and play them directly from the site, do you remember / knowwhat site it was by any chance? this was years ago so it could be down by now but i dont think it was reginasaurus and idk what it was
"Months before reginasaurus.net was even thought of, another Regina Spektor Database existed. It held practically every recording of Spektor one could want. One day the site disappeared without explanation, and tons of recordings went missing. We then created reginasaurus.net to preserve the works of Regina Spektor for years to come, And prevent precious recordings from going missing again" Taken directly from reginasaurus.net The old site no longer exists sorry.
@@TheSpektography i did some digging and found an archived page that says this Dear RespetkOnline Users, The contract to host the existing version of RespektOnline expires on April 1st of this year, and the RSO team decided to take this as an opportunity to rebuild the site with a more user-centric focus. +ink stains I'm pretty sure it's about having sex for the first time, based on the "young and drunk" and the "I fall asleep when you're inside". The "cooler version of yourself/dad/mind" thing is a little more abstract, but I think the song in general deals with the perceptions of sex that a younger woman or a teenage girl would have, vs the reality of how sex often is at that age -- boring, the other partner doesn't know what they're doing, etc.
+Kat Giordano That makes a lot of sense-thank you! I didn't expect anyone to respond since all the other comments are from forever ago :) what are your favorite regina spektor songs?
+ink stains Human of the Year, Carbon Monoxide, Loveology, and Chicken Song c: But it's so hard to choose. Ask me in a day and I'll have a different answer I'm sure. What about you?
+Kat Giordano Cool, I love the chicken song. I also change my favorites a lot...I feel like all her songs have a spot for a chapter in my life. I've recently gotten into the Devil Come to Bethlehem.
This was my defense against intrusive thoughts, so many years ago.
Regina was mine also, through many occasions. Many songs... I feel you.
Yo I feel it too.. yo
Why why why is there not a better recording of this?! Or at least one of her singing it. I love this woman way too much.
Oh my God she snores in her song! XD How many singers do that? I love her
You are the coolest version of my self

+ink stains I love all of those songs tho. How did you discover her?
what do you mean, 'her singing it', you mean live?! she IS singing it ;)
cooler like more cool or like temperature preserver ... a new take on an old classic : keep it cool bitches
This song reminds me of the way I used to disconnect from my body during my sex working days.
Feels like it's about rape. I pull away when you're inside. I lie down here until I die.
Like another one of her songs maybe.. AB I think, where she sings about how she's such a klutz.?
The song “belt” is about abuse/rape i believe.
Sylvia Plath?…..
