Narcissists never say or do anything without a motive and because they are so paranoid they assume that everybody else does the same thing. I remember with my narc she always seemed to derive some ulterior meaning behind anything I said, however innocuous it was. If I said I was making a cup of coffee she probably thought there was some devious plot behind it. They are the weirdest individuals I have ever encountered. It must be a nightmare living inside a mind like that. What a waste of a life.

The overthinking and being unable to sleep might also be a symptom of PTSD (CPTSD) and can also manfiest in victims of narcissistic abuse. The narcissists may also suffer from this (and most likely they were abused aswell in the past) but have adapted a malicious way of coping with their trauma.
My ex narc used to come to bed very very late. I was waking up during the night just to see he is still watching, reading or even not coming home. I thought I was ok with that, we were trusting each other and giving freedom...but as a result I completely lost my sleeping patterns and suffer from insomnia.

I argued with then once because of all their shit lies and manipulation their excuse was they needed to be up 3am for work which they did so around 2 am they say are u awake I hope ur not going to sleep they tried to pick that argument back up at that time

Some of them need to drink alcohol to manage to sleep or they need to have sex to get exhausted and fall asleep. It’s like they are scared to stay alone with themselves the very moment before sleep, they fear to hear a little voice in their mind which would say how bad they are. Their agenda is to not hear this voice.

One of the hardest things to do is to walk away from someone you love, but when you have the Dossier on them and you know there MO and your done with reacting your ready to walk, and it is with great appreciation to videos like this that gave me the strength to do just that, I am no longer flogging that dead horse
Truth! Sleep deprivation is a big red flag, warning. They keep you up arguing or turn their back on you giving you the cold shoulder, saying or withholding any intimacy or affection or they demand sex when your dead tired before you're ready to fall asleep in bed and will relentlessly argue all night untill you give in. I have experienced all the above and more by at least three separate covert narcs. I had one that would poke or prod me during the night waking me up constantly, or He would snore really loud when he woke up throughout the night to intentionally wake me. He once pretended he was sleeping while he hit me in the head with his hand, when I woke up he laughing apologized. They certainly have a deliberate mean streak they pass off as plausible deniability. That was the last night I slept over, the beginning of the end. I guess you could say, that was my final wake up call 😉
This is exactly what is happening to me now. He claims the bed is small and there is been times he is literally very close to me and he has put his arm over my head and he claimed that he was asleep. He wakes me up during the night with the phone , noises and going to the bathroom making noises with his nose, or wants to stay late watching tv.

There's no rest for the wicked, the one's I dealt with said they couldn't sleep, the Monster I was with would start a argument with me and turn over and go to sleep it left me sleep deprived, it's fuel for them that's why they love to stress you out and confused, he would get up early refreshed and I'm tired and drained going to work looking like I never went to sleep with bags and dark circles under my eyes!
How did you rest? I am dealing with a narcissistic and I do not sleep during the night. He wakes me up during the night he says our bed is small. He takes over the bed I have no space left. Then I am tiered and have headache s. And feel 🤕 sick. I think I am going to sleep on the floor.
My female Narc would get me all hyped up for some "fun time" in bedroom, then right before we were supposed to do the deed, she would start an argument and of course use that argument as an excuse to withhold intimacy from me. So I'd be "frustrated" all night and not able sleep. Then she would wake up the next morning (knowing I was exhausted and hadn't slept) and she would start vacuuming the bedroom and make all kinds of noise and racket. The times that I did get good sleep (which was rare), I would get up early and make breakfast. She would either not come downstairs at all and stay sleeping or if I woke her up to tell her breakfast was ready, she'd come down 30 mins later, when the food was nice and cold or she would just says she wasn't hungry. The mental mind jobs these demons do is unreal. But if you got mad at her, she would turn it back on you saying I was not considerate of her tiredness or for her "lack of appetite" for breakfast. BTW, been no contact from the NARC for 2 months now and I'm sleeping so soundly that I have enough energy to get up at 5am and go running. Now THAT is a HUGE change.
My ex-narc questioned why my bed and covers/linens were so comfortable as compared to hers as if that was a crime. Anything better than her omnipotence no matter how petty is a crime.
I think you have some good points that are true regarding to covert narcissist in this video Clarice. I also believe that especially covert narcissist sleep badly because of worrying over issues. My covert narcissist ex partner was very tired for days most of the time. I now also know why. They have less energy and need energy supply from their victim. And then the victim gets more and more low on energy. I recognize it. The longer my relationship with my covert narcissist ex partner continued the more I lost energy and got more and more tired. After I ended this toxic and fake relationship I started to get my energy back. They really drain your life energy out of you.

Many people don't believe narcs are demons and are terrorized by demons when they fall asleep. Yet, most of them wake up every night during " the witching hour" ( three to four o'clock).
If I had an issue with my ex and wanted to talk to him about it, he would yawn and fall asleep in the middle of me trying to speak to him about what I felt. He would either go silent and give no response to anything I said, or fall asleep. It was so humiliating and enraging. I'm so happy to no longer be with him and to no longer be wasting precious life energy on a ghost of a person who was never really there.

Absolutely. But, have you ever tried to sleep when your spirit is stirred up about something? It could be a speech you have to give. You can't. If you fall asleep before calming your spirit down; you end up waking back up. Now, think about them practicing wickedness. Many of them practice witch craft and others operate in the spirit of witch craft. So, they're spirits are always in turmoil. So, that's why they don't sleep. They're scared of reaping what they've sown, they're worried and anxious and they're tortured by the demons they've chosen to house.
Sometimes they're up, practing witch craft and terrorizing, hovering and stalking their exes while you sleep. Some are tortured by demons because they failed to destroy you. Then, others are up and scared to die. So, they're scared to go sleep or sleep too long.

Although she can be perfectly motionless, some nights her mind is fluttering so profoundly that I can sense it and feel it. I call such nights when her mind is racing, 'channel suffering'. I can actually sense her mind emitting uncomfortable or distracting energies as it rapidly flips from one subject to another. It can go on for hours. She often departs the bed. Later I was the one who would occasionally depart our bed. I have always known that there was something not quite right with her brain or mind. However, it was not until she had a full blown, stomping scream fest, breaking glass, narc rage last year after we simply watched a 'females are victims' movie together. Her night of rage was immediately followed up by 62 days of silent treatment. Oh course, it (whatever it was) was my fault. After her most extreme narc rage to date, I finally had enough of her craziness and detached myself, and then established strict boundaries and limits. I also began serious investigations and intense research that led me to finally realize exactly the character and base nature of the person who deceived me with love bombing into marriage. We were a carbon copy couple until our second child was born. After that I was only good for blaming purposes and the massive resources that I provided. My investigations and research continues as I continue my separation and healing processes. I have never felt more aware. My health is slowly improving in spite my age. Female CNs are serious energy and life force sucking vampires. Rid yourself of them and avoid them if at all possible.

@TheElect Narcissism is a deeply embedded, and very rarely changeable, personal disorder on a range or scale of severity in the ‘Cluster B’ category of psycho-pathologies. My extensive research and long term personal experiences leads me to strong believe that there is a genetic component to their pathology. Thus, many Narcs can hide or mask their disorder until they have bonded or ensnared their target or victim. They are NOT fixable primarily because inwardly at their core they inherently know that they are insecure and fragile and are too selfish and lazy to consistently exert the efforts and labors to reprogram their predacious and pernicious behaviors. They want their targets and victims to attempt to love them, give to them, and support them to health. They will always devalue and disrespect your efforts and energies. Narcs will string you along and employ and give you only intermittent gratifications to keep you giving. In summary, they cannot be fixed, will drain you dry emotionally, physically, financially, and spiritually. As a recovering empath myself, I strong advise you to save yourself and recover yourself as best you can if you are involved with a narcissist

I believe even with no empathy or remorse for ill treatment of others, your can't escape the natural order of life. When living in contradiction to what is righteous it will torment you consciously, subconsciously or energetically.

This is so spot on. I had never heard someone talk about sleep deprivation from narcs, and I'm so glad to hear this validation. He used to take all the space in the bed, leaving me just a foot on my side. If i asked for more space he would explode and rant that i was the one hogging all the space, that he was about to fall off the bed because I took all the space. Then he did this weird thing of hugging my body from behind and placing one leg over my hip, and then putting his entire weight over me. I was crushed into the mattress. When I complained of the weight and ensuing pain, he'd blow up saying I was pushing him away ! It felt like someone's hitting you and when you say stop, they do the exact opposite. Needless to say I ended up having many sleepless nights. I even pondered sleeping on the floor, and when I did it he accused me of leaving him and rejecting him. Funny thing is there was no intimacy bec he was so lazy at it, and I'd have to do all the work, so yes extremely super lazy. Now I just laugh it off as it all ended a few years ago.

After I came home she hovered me back and was nice to me agin but since our breakup she has tried hoovering me twice and she had two of her friends get a hold of me it’s like she can’t stand to know what I am up too doing! I did say they find ways to calm their minds. I only mentioned Yoga and meditation as an example but yes some would use drugs and alcohol to sedate themselves to escape their thoughts and get some rest as well.
Yes, my Narc Mom would mix sleeping pills with wine. My Narc Ex Husband would drink coffee all day without food. He was up all night probably jerking himself off. I slept in a different room, he was intolerable to share a bed.
I would be upset, cry myself to sleep, and he'd do nothing, say nothing, just turn away from me and sleep peacefully. Now everytime I watch a video (in the last 8 months) I find a piece of the puzzle and my reality becomes clearer and I know my decision to leave is to save my soul💖💕

They're SCHEMING!! One of my narcissistic family members used to have ALL kinds of ideas as to how she could screw this one and that one after she claimed to be 'up all night'. Fast forward, her scheming eventually turned against ME, her best friend, her sister. Yes, you CAN walk away from family members. And, YES, it DOES HURT. Facts!!!! My ex narcissist wife threw a chair at me(no lie) for wanting to stay up and play my Xbox with a friend back in 2009. We were literally in the next room playing the ps2. I know it sounds dramatic but that seriously happened. My empath ass actually let her have her way too. Something I'd never do now. These type of videos have helped me cope and discover a lot of scenarios that i let her slide with due to her being a woman and just saying "she's crazy.". I think it had something to do with her wanting control and attention too. She hated when I gave attention to others too long. Even my own family! It's scary now that I've discovered these TH-cam videos about narcissism and understand what I was really dealing with
That she threw a chair at you is something that I believe many of us who experienced narcissistic abuse are not suprised with. And believe me, it can be much worse than throwing chairs 😢
My last Narcissist had a strange thing happen.For three days after meeting him couldn’t sleep ,never have trouble sleeping. I’m a empath can feel other people’s feelings even at a long distance.Now I know I was picking up on him.After a few days in,got back to sleeping so he might have already got a new victim in sight.So glad,back to restful sleep.
So true my ex Narc would wake me up in the early morning hours wanting breakfast. When I would be cooking he would get in bed and say he will eat later. This was so frustrating 🤔

A person overthinking and not being able to sleep , doesn't mean that they're a Narcissist , I stay up all night and sometimes overthink a lot , because I just want to get it right , my Narc wife however stayed up most nights unable to sleep , and the next day was always a crazy new experience with her , I would say that my overthinking and , staying up was me , trying to figure out all of the crazy and , evil that I was dealing with

This was posted on my birthday. I found it quite odd that the narc I discarded never slept for more than a couple of hours at a time. He would get up off and on all night long, stay up all day and, just like you said, he would go to bed early.
My narc neighbor has difficulty sleeping, and some mornings he wakes at 6 am and other mornings he wakes at 9 am. On other days, he retires early or later. He is very unpredictable. I believe in some cases he awaits for me to return after and before work to watch and stare at me. He also takes naps during the day, and if that happens, he stays up late, but doesn't sleep at night. That means he will be up early around 6 am to wait and stare at me when I'm leaving.

Being dazed, not sleeping...that also happens to me. Ever since living in this platonic situation with a narcissistic person, who tried to lie about me, and also take sexual advantage of me, during a weak time in my life, when I was widowed, and he took me in, to sleep on his couch, after my grief made my mind snap. I'm getting help with this, and was educated about narcissistic people, and have been so amazed (not in a good way) at the effects of a narcissistic person on people around them. Omg! It’s scary how a lot of it looks and sounds like normal behavior. It’s even more scarier how those traits are the same as the injured empath. The only difference I see is that the narc can’t sleep because they’re planing . How they are going to control and abuse tomorrow. And the empath can’t sleep because they’re trying to figure out. How they can make surviving life better for them and their love ones . All the while blocking multiple attacks by narc’s in their lives. But at the end of the day the narc always gets the best sleep.😐
You are right...the victims end up suffering from insomnia etc as a result of dealing with a narcissist. But we have a conscious, they don't, so they end up sleeping better than us.
I swear I was thinking I’m a narcissist coz I have an over active mind and an insomniac. I don’t even know now what’s real and where I fall. Heartbreaking seeing I share qualities of being a narcissist coz I can’t sleep and I am now just healing from a Narcissist... but now I’m thinking am I one. I don’t even know anymore.
They weirdly always have their homes very dark and they always are up late at night into wee hours of the morning. But when they do sleep, they are like bears. They definitely don’t lose sleep over their evil deeds.
I live with a narc and this has just started as he has gotten older. He always goes to bed early and I sit and watch tv or whatever alone but recently to just have some peace I stay up very late and although he goes to bed early every night he gets up exactly between 2:30 and 3 has all the lights on plays stuff on his kindle and has the sound up which I'm sure neighbors here because we live in a townhouse so when he gets up by this time I'm getting really tired I go to bed but then I sleep sometimes till noon or after and he does the same. I do not like staying up so late but it is the only way to get some quiet and peace from him. During the day he talks constantly and never really says anything just blabbes sometimes just mumbles and it is distracting when I am doing something on my computer. It feels as if you are going crazy and I am always tired. I want to get away from him so bad but have Bill and can't until I get stuff paid off. But I keep praying for a miracle.
Thankyou so much Clarice. You have helped me so much. I finally made the decision two weeks ago to exit a 14 year relationship with a 'monster/narcissist'! I am feeling at peace with myself and, dare I say it 'happy'! I survived cancer four years ago without any love or support from him. However, I have come to terms in accepting that had I continued with this horror story, he would have destroyed me!
Mine had no problem sleeping! As soon as it hit 9:00 it was lights out! Even if we were fighting there was no staying up to work things out, it was goodnight!!!! I didn't sleep at all the whole short while I was with him! I had insomnia like I had never experienced before & I told him that only to have him laugh at me! He thought it was funny I couldn't sleep!
So many nights of lost sleep because my ex narc was up watching tv, worrying about things that a normal person wouldn’t be giving much thought to, demanding comfort from me to ease his mind or starting arguments. It took me months to catch up on my sleep after I got rid of him. He still haunts my dreams though even at 8 months of not being with him and maintaining no contact for 6 months.
Exposing the Narcissist I’m just glad I found the strength to get him out of my life and keep him out. His hoovers were many and with great persistence. And of course my mind wasn’t right yet and I missed him terribly. I still do sometimes and I’m baffled by my own emotions.
This made my gut hurt. I know the feeling. The person you dealt with was on the high end of the narcissistic spectrum. ,meaning they were a malignant narcissist, sociopath/psychopath. To me it doesn't matter. The pathology is too similar to split hairs.
This is so relevant in hind sight. I am very thankful to have moved on and continue to learn about these evil, empty people to avoid any future involvement with any of them.
It's so sad !! These people are hurting, suffering to a hellish degree.... but only a person who can swim in toxic water, without absorbing the toxicity will feel sorry for them. But l can assure you that it takes a lot of narcissistic abuse and feel the emotion of this phenomenon and understanding the history and system as to what makes a narcissist, a narcissistical person. Sounds about right. My ex (covert narc) sometimes woke up at night screaming with fear...and that would be at the same time she was cheating on me. It all adds up....the pattern fits...I can see that now. Every day without your narc are a day winning in life.

They can sleep without guilt or remorse because to them they won. But if they can't sleep it's because of a narc wound and they feel so justified and entitled all the revenge they want to take floods their minds. That's their "stress". Just what I've observed and lived with it became very clear.
Our final fight before I went NC, it was such a bad argument, we didn't sleep or eat for 2 days. He even threw up countless times. We just stayed up on Skype arguing for 48 hours. I told him, you have the power to change ALL of this, but you chose not to.

Such an interesting video. How much I dig about Narcissists, I can move on faster and actually I ‘m running without looking at my back. My Narc claimed he has a sleep disorder from his 17age. One night he woke up in a sad mood and told me why you told me you are not my girlfriend🤭😐 I said what😮 I understood he was at sleep yet. I tried to wake up him and convince him you are dreaming. The morning he told me I ‘m so sorry I did not want you to know and see my problem. Another night he woke up and jumped to turn on the light and he was so scared and I just look at him and said what happened: he said one came to the home😑😑😑 And he started looking into the closet🤫 again I tried to back him to the bed. This kind of dream continued a lot. Honestly, I was so worried about him like a mother and when he experienced this situation, I was hugging him and kissing him and I tried to make him calm. I was so tired from the mental dimension in that relationship but I did not know about Narc people. When he started gaslighting me to break up with him and finally I said ok that’s it, I can’t anymore. After leaving him, he found a girlfriend in just one month, it was so heartbreak. I know it wasn’t a healthy relationship but I know when I miss him, it’s just trauma issues. Two weeks ago we had a call, and he remembered all of the memories we had together. I said how is your new girlfriend and He said they have a lot of problems and she is blame and bla bla bla again victim play😑 No I am sure they NEVER change and you are not a Robin Hood. You just described my former friend. She was a night owl, not because she preferred later hours but because she was always thinking and concocting new schemes. Like you pointed out, she was eternally lazy and apathetic. This caused her kids to have to fend for themselves and her marriage was beyond repair. The only thing that gave her a purpose was meddling in other people's lives. She had no substantial relationships with anyone as they were just transactional situations with people who barely passed for acquaintances. The few friendships she did have, went down in flames because even they couldn't tolerate her anymore. I even reconnected with one of her long-time friends that went no contact and the things I learned almost made me vomit. My former friend is extremely toxic and would sell her own her grandchildren up the river if she knew it could get her what she wanted. Even more pathetically sad, my former friend doesn't know what she wants. Her needs and desires change with the direction of the wind. If someone else has it, she covets it. If whatever she is coveting can't become hers through manipulation, she tries to destroy that person in every way possible. Does that sound like a friend? No. I was no exception to that tactic. I had a resource that she wanted and treated me like I was the light of her life. Albeit for the moment. When it became clear that I wasn't budging, she tried to destroy me. Then when she moved out of state, she lost interest in me because she had apparently found a new supply. It was during that quiet time of reflection that I started to see: I was less stressed out because she wasn't contacting me every day, my life was reasonably calm without her presence, I realized whenever she did have an interaction with me, my anxiety and blood pressure would go through the roof. I knew it was an unhealthy relationship, but I didn't know how to get out of it. Then when I found out she had stolen my creative property and was trying to pass it off as her own, I saw red. As you pointed out, narcissists specifically the covert type, spend every waking moment of their life pretending to be something they aren't. My former friend was no exception to that rule. She presented herself as some hotshot show business professional. A simple Google search proved her cut and paste fictional resume as a lie. That's why she needed someone, like me, who had real talent, skills and connections that she could manipulate into doing her bidding. When I threw up that wall, she just went looking for a new source. She took my work with her though. She plagiarized it, rewrote it and even changed the title. It's worth pointing out that she can't write. Unless you count bad checks. I threatened to expose her all over social media as the lying, thieving untalented hack as she is. We all know the threat of exposure is kryptonite to a narcissist. She disappeared. She went off the grid and most likely crawled back under the rock from which she had to come. I heard it through the grapevine that she somewhere along the way decided to reinvent herself as a Christian filmmaker who only makes faith-based films. It's worth pointing out, she is the least Christian person I've ever met in my life and has repeatedly violated every single commandment with the exception of Thou Shalt Not Kill. It also should come as no surprise whatsoever that none of her projects ever see the light of day because she has to be the queen bee in charge: the writer, the producer, the lead actress and Lord have mercy on whoever gets in her way. Doesn't sound very Christ like to me. Sounds like vanity because it is. To make a long story short, everything a narcissist touches turns to crap. My former friend is living proof of that. I'm glad she is not a part of my life anymore.
I used to wonder why my female covert narcissist was always tired....she was always exhausted from keeping up appearances as the beautiful eldest daughter of a very prominent evangelist. She hid in the shadow of other Christians while she lived her demonic life. Her true nature was exposed when she seduced her sisters husband who she was jealous of. Only thing that ever bothers her is what others think of them. They have zero conscious about who they hurt, only what others that supply them think. My ex narc appears to be so kind and caring while in Church. After he gets home, he becomes transformed into the devil he is. He loves to be around women, it doesn't matter their age. He loves to be praised by these people. He used to walk around introducing his new beautiful Victim (Me) to everyone. He hated when I spoke in church. He was very jealous of me, when he started noticing that I was the center of admiration. He then will devalued me and tried to make feel like trash. Apparently, she was suffering from an inability to sleep at all (and would go for days without even a nap). A friend called me to ask if I could try to help (since my profession is in the field of alternative health & healing). The first few days were cordial and pleasant. Every day I greeted the security guard (lavish gated community)and met her at noon with freshly juiced green drinks (the chlorophyll is rich in magnesium which regulates sleep). Her mask was *sweet, likeable and harmless.* I didn't realize it at the time, but now I'm quite aware that I was gradually be *tested and groomed* to determine my potential as a new source of (subservient) supply. The stories about this encounter are enough to fill many pages of a book, but I will share a noteworthy one: Every Monday, the landscaping crew would show up at 6 a.m. sharp. She was accustomed to portraying the persona of a mysterious, reclusive heiress, and for years she made sure to be off property / or seen riding in the back seat of the Mercedes, chauffered by the current supply of the season. Her dilemma: old supply abruptly discarded, and new supply not yet established. Try to imagine my surprise when she actually *got down on her knees* to beg me to pick her up at 5 a.m. on upcoming Monday. I've never been an early morning person, and I knew I would be very vulnerable in an unrested state. My inner voice advised me to *maintain my boundaries,* and I politely declined, and reminded her of my purpose for being there. That Monday at noon, I arrived on schedule with freshly juiced drinks. As I opened the front door to enter, I heard her speaking on the phone (clearly agitated and angry). She was in mid sentence exclaiming : "That B*ITCH! I almost got into a car accident because of her!" Suddenly, there was an awkward silence. Then, in a sweetly melodic voice, she called down to me: "Rose? Is that you?" I recall when as a teen, my dad woke me up in the middle of the night. He told me to come into the den, where he was. He told me that because I "was keeping him from becoming church elder, he was thinking about killing me.". I don't know what he thought I was doing to prevent it, but the church was right to deny him eldership. My mom was shocked, and handed me money and the car keys so that I could drive to a motel. BUT, she didn't come with me or call the police on him. So, she chose him.
All I can say is "wow" after watching this video. My ex would frequently make these jerk like body movements in his sleep. I wasn't sure how he could function during the day because his sleeping pattern was always disrupted due to this. He was actually very jumpy during the day as well. Any sudden sound like someone beeping a horn or me placing my hand on his shoulder without him seeing it coming first would cause him to almost jump out of his skin. He was experiencing spiritual warfare right in front of me and I was too naive to see it. I can definitely see that a lot was just off about that man now that my heart is no longer invested and I have this newfound knowledgeable. Thank you for this.

This is nonsense to me. Mine would create a chaotic argument through gaslighting, and fall to sleep instantly while I stayed awake ruminating. Frightened people stay awake. Confident people sleep where they want.

She did cover that. She talked about the ones who have no issues sleeping but their partners do as a result of them at 4:40 then she spoke about what would make them lose sleep at 6:20 onwards.

I realized that he is waking me and keeping me awake deliberatly! I put a silent alarm on my apple watch to virbrate on my wrist and noticed him wake up and then poke and slap and "accidently" kick me and i continued to act as though I was sleeping. Then when id "wake up" and ask him if he was alright he would slam his head back on the pillow and pretend he was snoring. I "change my breathing" to pretend im sleeping again and again he will lift his head to check if im asleep and begin poke and kicking in bed. But thats not my only problem. I just recently started sleeping in our bed again since sleep training our son and even though i tried to sleep in our living room this man wont leave my side until im in bed with him where he wont let me sleep or if i find an alternative to sleep he will find reasons to go i to our kids room and "accidently" wake them looking for something idk how to fix my situation!
People with personality disorders suffer from anxiousness . anxiety. .Anxiety Disorder also include Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) ... Panic Disorder. ... My ex covert narcissist used to blame me " my snoring" for keeping him waking him up. He would yell at me and at times would leave and sleep on the couch.

One thing I noticed about my narc is if he can get me upset enough and drain me of my energy he can fall right to sleep. BUT if I keep my cool or not get too upset he can't sleep even though he's exhausted. Lately he's not been sleeping very well. Constantly tossing and turning, waking up intermittently throughout the night. These people are truly plagued with demons. Blank soulless stare.

The overthinking and being unable to sleep might also be a symptom of PTSD (CPTSD) and can also manfiest in victims of narcissistic abuse. The narcissists may also suffer from this (and most likely they were abused aswell in the past) but have adapted a malicious way of coping with their trauma.

I thought I was ok with that, we were trusting each other and giving freedom...but as a result I completely lost my sleeping patterns and suffer from insomnia.

Some of them need to drink alcohol to manage to sleep or they need to have sex to get exhausted and fall asleep. It’s like they are scared to stay alone with themselves the very moment before sleep, they fear to hear a little voice in their mind which would say how bad they are. Their agenda is to not hear this voice.

One of the hardest things to do is to walk away from someone you love, but when you have the Dossier on them and you know there MO and your done with reacting your ready to walk, and it is with great appreciation to videos like this that gave me the strength to do just that, I am no longer flogging that dead horse
Truth! Sleep deprivation is a big red flag, warning. They keep you up arguing or turn their back on you giving you the cold shoulder, saying or withholding any intimacy or affection or they demand sex when your dead tired before you're ready to fall asleep in bed and will relentlessly argue all night untill you give in. I have experienced all the above and more by at least three separate covert narcs. I had one that would poke or prod me during the night waking me up constantly, or He would snore really loud when he woke up throughout the night to intentionally wake me. He once pretended he was sleeping while he hit me in the head with his hand, when I woke up he laughing apologized. They certainly have a deliberate mean streak they pass off as plausible deniability. That was the last night I slept over, the beginning of the end. I guess you could say, that was my final wake up call 😉

This is exactly what is happening to me now. He claims the bed is small and there is been times he is literally very close to me and he has put his arm over my head and he claimed that he was asleep. He wakes me up during the night with the phone , noises and going to the bathroom making noises with his nose, or wants to stay late watching tv.

How did you rest? I am dealing with a narcissistic and I do not sleep during the night. He wakes me up during the night he says our bed is small. He takes over the bed I have no space left. Then I am tiered and have headache s. And feel 🤕 sick. I think I am going to sleep on the floor.
My female Narc would get me all hyped up for some "fun time" in bedroom, then right before we were supposed to do the deed, she would start an argument and of course use that argument as an excuse to withhold intimacy from me. So I'd be "frustrated" all night and not able sleep. Then she would wake up the next morning (knowing I was exhausted and hadn't slept) and she would start vacuuming the bedroom and make all kinds of noise and racket. The times that I did get good sleep (which was rare), I would get up early and make breakfast. She would either not come downstairs at all and stay sleeping or if I woke her up to tell her breakfast was ready, she'd come down 30 mins later, when the food was nice and cold or she would just says she wasn't hungry. The mental mind jobs these demons do is unreal. But if you got mad at her, she would turn it back on you saying I was not considerate of her tiredness or for her "lack of appetite" for breakfast. BTW, been no contact from the NARC for 2 months now and I'm sleeping so soundly that I have enough energy to get up at 5am and go running. Now THAT is a HUGE change.

My covert narcissist ex partner was very tired for days most of the time. I now also know why.
They have less energy and need energy supply from their victim. And then the victim gets more and more low on energy. I recognize it. The longer my relationship with my covert narcissist ex partner continued the more I lost energy and got more and more tired.
After I ended this toxic and fake relationship I started to get my energy back. They really drain your life energy out of you.

Many people don't believe narcs are demons and are terrorized by demons when they fall asleep. Yet, most of them wake up every night during " the witching hour" ( three to four o'clock).
If I had an issue with my ex and wanted to talk to him about it, he would yawn and fall asleep in the middle of me trying to speak to him about what I felt. He would either go silent and give no response to anything I said, or fall asleep. It was so humiliating and enraging. I'm so happy to no longer be with him and to no longer be wasting precious life energy on a ghost of a person who was never really there.

Absolutely. But, have you ever tried to sleep when your spirit is stirred up about something? It could be a speech you have to give. You can't. If you fall asleep before calming your spirit down; you end up waking back up. Now, think about them practicing wickedness. Many of them practice witch craft and others operate in the spirit of witch craft. So, they're spirits are always in turmoil. So, that's why they don't sleep. They're scared of reaping what they've sown, they're worried and anxious and they're tortured by the demons they've chosen to house.
Sometimes they're up, practing witch craft and terrorizing, hovering and stalking their exes while you sleep. Some are tortured by demons because they failed to destroy you. Then, others are up and scared to die. So, they're scared to go sleep or sleep too long.

You contributed additional pegs of identification to the Covert Narc in my life. Thank you for the insightful information. My wife has had slept issues since we married 25 years ago. Although she can be perfectly motionless, some nights her mind is fluttering so profoundly that I can sense it and feel it. I call such nights when her mind is racing, 'channel suffering'. I can actually sense her mind emitting uncomfortable or distracting energies as it rapidly flips from one subject to another. It can go on for hours. She often departs the bed. Later I was the one who would occasionally depart our bed.
I have always known that there was something not quite right with her brain or mind. However, it was not until she had a full blown, stomping scream fest, breaking glass, narc rage last year after we simply watched a 'females are victims' movie together. Her night of rage was immediately followed up by 62 days of silent treatment. Oh course, it (whatever it was) was my fault. After her most extreme narc rage to date, I finally had enough of her craziness and detached myself, and then established strict boundaries and limits. I also began serious investigations and intense research that led me to finally realize exactly the character and base nature of the person who deceived me with love bombing into marriage. We were a carbon copy couple until our second child was born. After that I was only good for blaming purposes and the massive resources that I provided. My investigations and research continues as I continue my separation and healing processes. I have never felt more aware. My health is slowly improving in spite my age. Female CNs are serious energy and life force sucking vampires. Rid yourself of them and avoid them if at all possible.
The CFN has the potential to cause more damage than the male counterparts.
Continue to educate yourself so that you have the information and wisdom you need to deal with such people.

Narcissism is a deeply embedded, and very rarely changeable, personal disorder on a range or scale of severity in the ‘Cluster B’ category of psycho-pathologies. My extensive research and long term personal experiences leads me to strong believe that there is a genetic component to their pathology. Thus, many Narcs can hide or mask their disorder until they have bonded or ensnared their target or victim. They are NOT fixable primarily because inwardly at their core they inherently know that they are insecure and fragile and are too selfish and lazy to consistently exert the efforts and labors to reprogram their predacious and pernicious behaviors. They want their targets and victims to attempt to love them, give to them, and support them to health. They will always devalue and disrespect your efforts and energies. Narcs will string you along and employ and give you only intermittent gratifications to keep you giving. In summary, they cannot be fixed, will drain you dry emotionally, physically, financially, and spiritually. As a recovering empath myself, I strong advise you to save yourself and recover yourself as best you can if you are involved with a narcissist

This is so spot on. I had never heard someone talk about sleep deprivation from narcs, and I'm so glad to hear this validation. He used to take all the space in the bed, leaving me just a foot on my side. If i asked for more space he would explode and rant that i was the one hogging all the space, that he was about to fall off the bed because I took all the space. Then he did this weird thing of hugging my body from behind and placing one leg over my hip, and then putting his entire weight over me. I was crushed into the mattress. When I complained of the weight and ensuing pain, he'd blow up saying I was pushing him away ! It felt like someone's hitting you and when you say stop, they do the exact opposite. Needless to say I ended up having many sleepless nights. I even pondered sleeping on the floor, and when I did it he accused me of leaving him and rejecting him. Funny thing is there was no intimacy bec he was so lazy at it, and I'd have to do all the work, so yes extremely super lazy. Now I just laugh it off as it all ended a few years ago.

After I came home she hovered me back and was nice to me agin but since our breakup she has tried hoovering me twice and she had two of her friends get a hold of me it’s like she can’t stand to know what I am up too doing! Facts!!!! My ex narcissist wife threw a chair at me(no lie) for wanting to stay up and play my Xbox with a friend back in 2009. We were literally in the next room playing the ps2. I know it sounds dramatic but that seriously happened. My empath ass actually let her have her way too. Something I'd never do now. These type of videos have helped me cope and discover a lot of scenarios that i let her slide with due to her being a woman and just saying "she's crazy.". I think it had something to do with her wanting control and attention too. She hated when I gave attention to others too long. Even my own family! It's scary now that I've discovered these TH-cam videos about narcissism and understand what I was really dealing with

My last Narcissist had a strange thing happen.For three days after meeting him couldn’t sleep ,never have trouble sleeping. I’m a empath can feel other people’s feelings even at a long distance.Now I know I was picking up on him.After a few days in,got back to sleeping so he might have already got a new victim in sight.So glad,back to restful sleep.

I found it quite odd that the narc I discarded never slept for more than a couple of hours at a time. He would get up off and on all night long, stay up all day and, just like you said, he would go to bed early.
My narc neighbor has difficulty sleeping, and some mornings he wakes at 6 am and other mornings he wakes at 9 am. On other days, he retires early or later. He is very unpredictable. I believe in some cases he awaits for me to return after and before work to watch and stare at me. He also takes naps during the day, and if that happens, he stays up late, but doesn't sleep at night. That means he will be up early around 6 am to wait and stare at me when I'm leaving.

Ever since living in this platonic situation with a narcissistic person, who tried to lie about me, and also take sexual advantage of me, during a weak time in my life, when I was widowed, and he took me in, to sleep on his couch, after my grief made my mind snap. It’s scary how a lot of it looks and sounds like normal behavior. It’s even more scarier how those traits are the same as the injured empath. The only difference I see is that the narc can’t sleep because they’re planing . How they are going to control and abuse tomorrow. And the empath can’t sleep because they’re trying to figure out. How they can make surviving life better for them and their love ones . All the while blocking multiple attacks by narc’s in their lives. But at the end of the day the narc always gets the best sleep.😐
You are right...the victims end up suffering from insomnia etc as a result of dealing with a narcissist. But we have a conscious, they don't, so they end up sleeping better than us.

I live with a narc and this has just started as he has gotten older. He always goes to bed early and I sit and watch tv or whatever alone but recently to just have some peace I stay up very late and although he goes to bed early every night he gets up exactly between 2:30 and 3 has all the lights on plays stuff on his kindle and has the sound up which I'm sure neighbors here because we live in a townhouse so when he gets up by this time I'm getting really tired I go to bed but then I sleep sometimes till noon or after and he does the same. I do not like staying up so late but it is the only way to get some quiet and peace from him. During the day he talks constantly and never really says anything just blabbes sometimes just mumbles and it is distracting when I am doing something on my computer. It feels as if you are going crazy and I am always tired. I want to get away from him so bad but have Bill and can't until I get stuff paid off. But I keep praying for a miracle.

I am feeling at peace with myself and, dare I say it 'happy'! I survived cancer four years ago without any love or support from him. Mine had no problem sleeping! As soon as it hit 9:00 it was lights out! Even if we were fighting there was no staying up to work things out, it was goodnight!!!! I didn't sleep at all the whole short while I was with him! I had insomnia like I had never experienced before & I told him that only to have him laugh at me! He thought it was funny I couldn't sleep!

It took me months to catch up on my sleep after I got rid of him. He still haunts my dreams though even at 8 months of not being with him and maintaining no contact for 6 months.
Pointless things they worry about but I guess that's part of their punishment in this life.
Exposing the Narcissist I’m just glad I found the strength to get him out of my life and keep him out. His hoovers were many and with great persistence. And of course my mind wasn’t right yet and I missed him terribly. I still do sometimes and I’m baffled by my own emotions.

This is so relevant in hind sight. I am very thankful to have moved on and continue to learn about these evil, empty people to avoid any future involvement with any of them.
It's so sad !! These people are hurting, suffering to a hellish degree.... but only a person who can swim in toxic water, without absorbing the toxicity will feel sorry for them. But l can assure you that it takes a lot of narcissistic abuse and feel the emotion of this phenomenon and understanding the history and system as to what makes a narcissist, a narcissistical person. Sounds about right. My ex (covert narc) sometimes woke up at night screaming with fear...and that would be at the same time she was cheating on me. It all adds up....the pattern fits...I can see that now. Every day without your narc are a day winning in life.

They can sleep without guilt or remorse because to them they won. But if they can't sleep it's because of a narc wound and they feel so justified and entitled all the revenge they want to take floods their minds. That's their "stress". Just what I've observed and lived with it became very clear.
Our final fight before I went NC, it was such a bad argument, we didn't sleep or eat for 2 days. He even threw up countless times. We just stayed up on Skype arguing for 48 hours. I told him, you have the power to change ALL of this, but you chose not to.

My ex wife ended up taking sleeping pills over the last few years of our marriage. My ex girlfriend never did sleep well, sometimes not sleeping at all. Both women hated my ability to fall asleep quickly and profoundly. It really bugged both of them. I still sleep well to this day!

Such an interesting video. How much I dig about Narcissists, I can move on faster and actually I ‘m running without looking at my back. My Narc claimed he has a sleep disorder from his 17age. One night he woke up in a sad mood and told me why you told me you are not my girlfriend🤭😐 I said what😮 I understood he was at sleep yet. I tried to wake up him and convince him you are dreaming. The morning he told me I ‘m so sorry I did not want you to know and see my problem. Another night he woke up and jumped to turn on the light and he was so scared and I just look at him and said what happened: he said one came to the home😑😑😑 And he started looking into the closet🤫 again I tried to back him to the bed. This kind of dream continued a lot. Honestly, I was so worried about him like a mother and when he experienced this situation, I was hugging him and kissing him and I tried to make him calm. I was so tired from the mental dimension in that relationship but I did not know about Narc people. When he started gaslighting me to break up with him and finally I said ok that’s it, I can’t anymore. After leaving him, he found a girlfriend in just one month, it was so heartbreak. I know it wasn’t a healthy relationship but I know when I miss him, it’s just trauma issues. Two weeks ago we had a call, and he remembered all of the memories we had together. I said how is your new girlfriend and He said they have a lot of problems and she is blame and bla bla bla again victim play😑 No I am sure they NEVER change and you are not a Robin Hood. Leave they're Alone.
You just described my former friend. She was a night owl, not because she preferred later hours but because she was always thinking and concocting new schemes. Like you pointed out, she was eternally lazy and apathetic. This caused her kids to have to fend for themselves and her marriage was beyond repair. The only thing that gave her a purpose was meddling in other people's lives. She had no substantial relationships with anyone as they were just transactional situations with people who barely passed for acquaintances. The few friendships she did have, went down in flames because even they couldn't tolerate her anymore. I even reconnected with one of her long-time friends that went no contact and the things I learned almost made me vomit. My former friend is extremely toxic and would sell her own her grandchildren up the river if she knew it could get her what she wanted. Even more pathetically sad, my former friend doesn't know what she wants. Her needs and desires change with the direction of the wind. If someone else has it, she covets it. If whatever she is coveting can't become hers through manipulation, she tries to destroy that person in every way possible. Does that sound like a friend? No.
I was no exception to that tactic. I had a resource that she wanted and treated me like I was the light of her life. Albeit for the moment. When it became clear that I wasn't budging, she tried to destroy me. Then when she moved out of state, she lost interest in me because she had apparently found a new supply. It was during that quiet time of reflection that I started to see: I was less stressed out because she wasn't contacting me every day, my life was reasonably calm without her presence, I realized whenever she did have an interaction with me, my anxiety and blood pressure would go through the roof. I knew it was an unhealthy relationship, but I didn't know how to get out of it. Then when I found out she had stolen my creative property and was trying to pass it off as her own, I saw red.
As you pointed out, narcissists specifically the covert type, spend every waking moment of their life pretending to be something they aren't. My former friend was no exception to that rule. She presented herself as some hotshot show business professional. A simple Google search proved her cut and paste fictional resume as a lie. That's why she needed someone, like me, who had real talent, skills and connections that she could manipulate into doing her bidding. When I threw up that wall, she just went looking for a new source. She took my work with her though. She plagiarized it, rewrote it and even changed the title. It's worth pointing out that she can't write. Unless you count bad checks. I threatened to expose her all over social media as the lying, thieving untalented hack as she is. We all know the threat of exposure is kryptonite to a narcissist. She disappeared. She went off the grid and most likely crawled back under the rock from which she had to come.
I heard it through the grapevine that she somewhere along the way decided to reinvent herself as a Christian filmmaker who only makes faith-based films. It's worth pointing out, she is the least Christian person I've ever met in my life and has repeatedly violated every single commandment with the exception of Thou Shalt Not Kill. It also should come as no surprise whatsoever that none of her projects ever see the light of day because she has to be the queen bee in charge: the writer, the producer, the lead actress and Lord have mercy on whoever gets in her way. Doesn't sound very Christ like to me. Sounds like vanity because it is.
To make a long story short, everything a narcissist touches turns to crap. My former friend is living proof of that. I'm glad she is not a part of my life anymore.
I used to wonder why my female covert narcissist was always tired....she was always exhausted from keeping up appearances as the beautiful eldest daughter of a very prominent evangelist. She hid in the shadow of other Christians while she lived her demonic life. Her true nature was exposed when she seduced her sisters husband who she was jealous of. Only thing that ever bothers her is what others think of them. They have zero conscious about who they hurt, only what others that supply them think. It must be very tiring to play Satans game as a mere mortal.
My ex narc appears to be so kind and caring while in Church. After he gets home, he becomes transformed into the devil he is. He loves to be around women, it doesn't matter their age. He loves to be praised by these people. He used to walk around introducing his new beautiful Victim (Me) to everyone. He hated when I spoke in church. He was very jealous of me, when he started noticing that I was the center of admiration. He then will devalued me and tried to make feel like trash. Little did he know, that I was smarted than he thought I was...And made him go into a rage. This Man made his decease wife suffer for 40 years, Now, He Can't sleep. He needs exorcism from all the demons that plagues him. I just pray for his soul!! He is a very rough, scaring handsome evil person!!

This video ignited a *lightbulb moment* for me in dealing with a female covert (and ridiculously wealthy $$$) narcissist.
Apparently, she was suffering from an inability to sleep at all (and would go for days without even a nap).
A friend called me to ask if I could try to help (since my profession is in the field of alternative health & healing).
The first few days were cordial and pleasant. Every day I greeted the security guard (lavish gated community)and met her at noon with freshly juiced green drinks (the chlorophyll is rich in magnesium which regulates sleep).
Her mask was *sweet, likeable and harmless.*
I didn't realize it at the time, but now I'm quite aware that I was gradually be *tested and groomed* to determine my potential as a new source of (subservient) supply.
The stories about this encounter are enough to fill many pages of a book, but I will share a noteworthy one:
Every Monday, the landscaping crew would show up at 6 a.m. sharp.
She was accustomed to portraying the persona of a mysterious, reclusive heiress, and for years she made sure to be off property / or seen riding in the back seat of the Mercedes, chauffered by the current supply of the season.
Her dilemma: old supply abruptly discarded, and new supply not yet established.
Try to imagine my surprise when she actually *got down on her knees* to beg me to pick her up at 5 a.m. on upcoming Monday.
I've never been an early morning person, and I knew I would be very vulnerable in an unrested state.
My inner voice advised me to *maintain my boundaries,* and I politely declined, and reminded her of my purpose for being there.
That Monday at noon, I arrived on schedule with freshly juiced drinks.
As I opened the front door to enter, I heard her speaking on the phone (clearly agitated and angry).
She was in mid sentence exclaiming :
"That B*ITCH! I almost got into a car accident because of her!"
Suddenly, there was an awkward silence. Then, in a sweetly melodic voice, she called down to me:
"Rose? Is that you?"
These individuals don't sleep because it's a **return to sender Universe.**

I recall when as a teen, my dad woke me up in the middle of the night. He told me to come into the den, where he was. He told me that because I "was keeping him from becoming church elder, he was thinking about killing me.". I don't know what he thought I was doing to prevent it, but the church was right to deny him eldership. My mom was shocked, and handed me money and the car keys so that I could drive to a motel. BUT, she didn't come with me or call the police on him. So, she chose him.

All I can say is "wow" after watching this video. My ex would frequently make these jerk like body movements in his sleep. I wasn't sure how he could function during the day because his sleeping pattern was always disrupted due to this. He was actually very jumpy during the day as well. Any sudden sound like someone beeping a horn or me placing my hand on his shoulder without him seeing it coming first would cause him to almost jump out of his skin. He was experiencing spiritual warfare right in front of me and I was too naive to see it. I can definitely see that a lot was just off about that man now that my heart is no longer invested and I have this newfound knowledgeable. Thank you for this.

If they stay awake, they are normally either plotting, or reminiscing about the orgy she had at work that day...
She did cover that. She talked about the ones who have no issues sleeping but their partners do as a result of them at 4:40 then she spoke about what would make them lose sleep at 6:20 onwards.

I realized that he is waking me and keeping me awake deliberatly! I put a silent alarm on my apple watch to virbrate on my wrist and noticed him wake up and then poke and slap and "accidently" kick me and i continued to act as though I was sleeping. Then when id "wake up" and ask him if he was alright he would slam his head back on the pillow and pretend he was snoring. I "change my breathing" to pretend im sleeping again and again he will lift his head to check if im asleep and begin poke and kicking in bed. But thats not my only problem. I just recently started sleeping in our bed again since sleep training our son and even though i tried to sleep in our living room this man wont leave my side until im in bed with him where he wont let me sleep or if i find an alternative to sleep he will find reasons to go i to our kids room and "accidently" wake them looking for something idk how to fix my situation!

My ex covert narcissist used to blame me " my snoring" for keeping him waking him up. He would yell at me and at times would leave and sleep on the couch.

One thing I noticed about my narc is if he can get me upset enough and drain me of my energy he can fall right to sleep. BUT if I keep my cool or not get too upset he can't sleep even though he's exhausted.
Lately he's not been sleeping very well. Constantly tossing and turning, waking up intermittently throughout the night. These people are truly plagued with demons. Blank soulless stare.

My ex narc would tell me not to call him or text him after 830 PM and then he would turn around and text and call me all through the night. Ridiculous! They are so very sick & twisted. They never want you to sleep.
The narc I know drinks themselves to sleep every night. Usually on a sofa in front of the TV.
