- Insect conservation for the winegrowing system
by Serge Gadoum
(Entomologist, Ecological Engineer)
Today, in viticulture, as in agriculture in general, insects are all too often regarded as pests to be eradicated, without any distinction being made. And yet, not only are beneficial insects precious and indispensable helpers, but their rich and diverse presence is a sign of healthy ecosystems - a real asset in the face of climate change.
So how can we create a virtuous cohabitation? Serge Gadoum offers some food for thought and a rich and instructive insight into the world of insects.
Vineyards & Biodiversity #2 - Tomorrow's viticulture starts today
18 & 19 January 2024 - Avignon (Palais des Papes)
This series of conferences, a link between science and the field, offers a genuine overview of the issues surrounding biodiversity, going far beyond the boundaries of land registry and the strict framework of winegrowing in general. Conceived as an open, multidisciplinary and cross-disciplinary dialogue aimed at the wine-growing world, the aim is to share knowledge, highlight and pool practical and scientific experience, break down barriers and create a virtuous dynamic in which biodiversity becomes a collective goal rather than an individual mission.
