John please show the building of the foundation. U are my inspiration to quit the rat race. Just a critique, you could have used a stone foundation digging a trench and using stones layered with cement. Cheaper than concrete.

I've still in the rat race but once I save a years salary I can retire to the countryside of my 3rd world country which has very cheap land and build a house on my own and raise pigs/chicken/rabbits. The most important thing is to try to find a place with a nearby stream/river and you're set.
I love the commentary, so sincere and true. There are a lot of people that don't have a lot of money, building a small house for $1000 USD is awesome! Also the skills that are learned can be used for years to come and passed onto others.

Why pay an amortization for ten(10) years, when you can have it for almost no cost at all? Yes, I do believe that life is easy after all. It is our desire for many things that burden us. looks much better without the final plastering on the walls. the raw adobe is beatiful. to make it even more affordable you should consider the beam to be bamboo layed out closer to each other. very good structural characteristics.

Hi sir I am from india and I live in a concrete room with a concrete terrace and during summer it is very hot inside so I was thinking to build a mud room on top of the concrete terrace is it possible to build a mud room on a concrete terrace.
The first thing is to check the ability of that concrete if it can carry the weight of mud room . It is quite heavy. It 's the best on the ground. Another thing is concrete can last only 50 years so we need to know how old is that building.

I believe that making the entire house out of concrete would increase the total cost, increase the environmental footprint, and reduce the fun of working with mud and clay. The mixture feels really good on your hands and feet, and is safe for kids.
@@justdoeverything8883 These types of houses while have less carbon footprint they are susceptible to natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes and could have horrible consequences. It could be made by normal break and mortar which has a minimal amount of concrete use, a lot less than the foundation. Our life has some carbon costs and in things such as housing, it is worth doing it. I am not sure but looks they used asbestos for the roofing which scares me.

Concrete absorbs heat during the day and slowly releases the heat at night time cooking you slowly. Adobe wall is cool all throughout the day and night.
This is great. Love the video. Makes me want to joint the Thai love life cult. Earth is the answer for solving all these housing shortages.

You have a cement slab under the unit. Why dont you make the entire thing from concrete?
